ULTRAGEEK |

You look up from the small, crumpeled up piece of paper in your hand. The one you found on your doorstep, asking for your services in return for a sizeable share of gold. This is it. The tavern known as The Drunk Fiddler, where you are supposed to meet a few others in a assist both in the corner. As you head to that both, you notice several others doing so as well.
Introduce your characters to each other, and RP a bit, if you wish. Just say done when you are ready to move on

Miss Deredwell |

Heather looks up a the other folk, all tallfolk, no more of the kith here. Suited her fine. Well, money's good, so let's see about the job.
"Well, hello there. th'names Heather, I guess you're here for the same job I am, so may as well get introductions out of the way." the small gnome seems in a fairly cheerful mood, and while she seems quite bumpkin, you can't help but note she's dressed for trouble, her armour is hidden beneath cloth but it's bulk is undeniable, she wears multiple weapons and has assorted other tools and gadgets about her person.

Jake Dash |

Jake approaches the others, and he bows deeply at the waist, and giving a leg, so to speak. He is a handsome man with blue eyes and long blonde hair pulled into a pony-tail. He wears fine clothes, but they do not hide his studded leather armor or rapier strapped to his waist.
Well, hello all. I am Jake Dash, and it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance.
He slides into the booth with his back to the wall and folds his hands before him.
So, Heather, do you know anything about this job?

Raithwyn the Wraith |

A lanky elf lurks in the shadows, his anxiety over being in such a populated area almost palpable. He is dressed in minimalist garb of whites and greys, which match his hair and what little of his eyes are visible beneath facial wrappings. I ssee I wass not the only one to have recceived the ssummonss. he states with a lisp. If we are to be alliess in thiss endeavor, I sshall try to remember your namess.

Teos of An |

Turning from his place at the bar, a human of about middle years approaches the booth. Bearded with shoulder length brown hair, his cloths make him out to be some type of scholar, but subtle differences give the observer the feeling a religious garb as well. He carries a pack on his back and a stout staff in his hand.
"Greetings! I am Rev Mordu, student of the occult and divine. A pleasure to meet you all. I suppose we are all here for the same reason?"
He holds up a crumpled letter that is very similar to the one the others possess.

ULTRAGEEK |

I just noticed a few stupid mistakes in my last post. I said "where you were supposed to meet in a assist both in the corner". I was posting on mobile. It's supposed to say "where you were supposed to meet in a shadowy booth in the corner" I hate autocorrect sometimes. Also, I'll let you rp a bit more, I guess. I'll also post what the note specifically said:
CongratulationsYou have been selected for your special skills, for a job that will test your limits. This job has a promise of a reward beyond your dreams, as well as considerable fame among your peers. You will be joined by others that compliment your expertise, and team work will be required to achieve your goals.
If you accept this offer, head to "The Drunken Fiddler" at noon. One of my agents shall meet you there, along with the rest of your team, at a small, private booth in the right corner of the bar.
Best of luck.

Jake Dash |

Jake nods to the newcomer human.
Well met, Rev.So, elf friend, what do they call you, and I too will try my damnest to remember it.
He smiles broadly and winks at Heather.

Miss Deredwell |

"I only know the job pays well, and sounds risky. But I'm sure if we work together as a team, we'll manage fine." Heather walks a line where it is difficult to tell if she's impossible optimistic, or just dangerously sarcastic.

Raithwyn the Wraith |

I am known az the wraith, but you may addresss me az Raithwyn. I sspeccialize in.. pausing for a moment to think of the correct word....sshadow operationss.
Cocking his head slightly towards Heather, he adds Without rissk, all would do az we do. I will acccept a meassure of rissk if it meanss the oafss I liberate goodss from do not ssully the ccraft with their cchhildissh attemptss at mimiccry.

Shirraj |

"And yet here you are, talking about 'the craft' as though no one could be listening in?" a smooth female voice says in an accent enunciating the rolling 'R's and an amused tone.
A short but lean lady with feline features, blueish grey striped fur, and a flaring bunch of silver hair on hear head steps up to the booth. A long tail trails out from underneath the colorful skirt of purple, orange and green tatters she's wearing. Black tights and simple, light leather boots cover what is visible of her legs and a simple leather jerkin over an equally featureless longsleeved purple tunic dress is worn on her upper body. A rapier is sheathed at her side, next to a dagger. Her right hand clutches a red violin and bow.
She bows deeply to the whole group in a graceful, fluid motion: "Shirraj Silverclaw." she says. A wide smile beams across her face, revealing sharp canine teeth and one of her cat ears twtiches.

Shirraj |

Shirraj returns the smile "Neither do I. Or at least, I wouldn't know. Either way I don't think it would be smart wasting any trying to find out. And anyway, the surprise to find I have them when I need one, it would be priceless!", she really seems to enjoy the idea.

Raithwyn the Wraith |

Raithwyn chuckles at Shirraj's entrance, Yess, beccausse it iss ccustomary for all venturess to sstart in a sshadowy ccorner of a bar. Alsso, I'd wager many of the nearby tabless are filled with mussccle hired by our myssteriouss potential employer.
As Jake and Shirraj begin their banter, those of keen hearing, hear Raithwyn muttering something about mating habits of the shorter lived races...

ULTRAGEEK |

A small lithe man approaches your table. Ye here for the job offer?. Without waiting for your reply, he turns around and heads to the front of the room. There, he opens a small door, which leads to a staircase. He beckons for you to follow him, and begins heading upstairs. The staircase is quite narrow, and seems to go on forever, but it eventually reaches a corridor, which leads to a small dark room. He motions for you to follow him inside, and quickly shuts the door. Laying a piece of parchment down, he says Before we begin, ye need to know, I'll be doing all transactions for my master. Ye will not meet with him. Now, let's begin. Ye will be stealing this, the Mask of Enthrallment He points to the piece of parchment, which bears a drawing of a beautiful, jewel studded mask. Know anything about it?
Arcana checks, please :)

ULTRAGEEK |

You focus on the picture of the mask, and you soon remember several details about the mask, perhaps told by a fellow jeweler beside which you once worked. You remember the following things:
-The Mask has the power to charm many of the people who gaze upon it. However, this only works if someone is wearing it
-Those who are charmed by the mask will follow the commands of the person who wears the mask
-It is said that if one wears the mask for a long period of time, it will gradually meld with the face of the person who wears it.
-The jewels on the mask are worth quite a lot
Glad you asked the man says to Jack. He lays down a second, larger piece of paper on the table. It bears what looks to be a map of a mansion. This is the private vault of a rather prominent noble, Rother Borhan. He has a small piece of land on a small island off the sword coast, about 1 mile away from shore. He seems to be going through a "Rare Artifacts" phase, and has just bought the mask. This mask is worth quite a lot of money, especially to any arcane colleges. Of course, you are going to steal it

Raithwyn the Wraith |

Yes Yes, you already said we'd be stealing it. Am I correct in assuming that the mask has already been added to his collection on the island, and we will not be trying to waylay a courier? Do you know anything about the security of the island, both magical and mundane? Will travel be provided? Is the mask on display, or locked away somewhere? asks Raithwyn, rattling off questions far quicker than the unnamed man could possibly answer.
Taking his eyes off the map, he glances to his cohorts in this, gauging their responses to the proposition and his questions.

Teos of An |

Rev moves up to the table and examines the map. He looks over at Raithwyn as he rattles off his many questions, nodding as he make each point.
"Is this collector a user of magic himself? What is the closest village to his island?"
He adds his own questions once the elf finished his and now awaits some answers.

Miss Deredwell |

Heather keeps her face neutral as she looks at the picture, keeping that she recognised it from her potential employer by force of habit rather than any perceived necessity. She would judge whether the others need to know on the way.
The tallfolk seem to be asking all the right questions, so she continues to wait for answers and look cheery.

ULTRAGEEK |

The man turns to Raithwyn It has already been added to his collection. As for the security, there are a few wizards, and around 30 guards. I had an inside man, and he identified a few entrance points. Of course, there is the matter of getting to the island, and task will be provided in the form of a few boats. Rother keeps the mask locked up in a vault with a few wards, but, it seems that he will be holding a private, invitation only display for several movies in two ten-days.
He then turns to be Rev Rother is currently dabbling in the arcane arts, and only knows a few minor spells. The closest settlement would be Waterdeep. You can see it if you look towards the horizon, while standing at shore

Shirraj |

Shirraj's eyes dart between the congregated people looking for any sign of recognition of this mask: "Does anyone know more about the mask? Also is there more you can tell us about the layout of this abode?"

Jake Dash |

Seems pretty straightforward. If we do not have a floorplan, we will need to arrive silently and case the place first. Are we getting an invite to the shindig in 10 days? I am certainly adept enough at disguise to attend as an alias.

Jake Dash |

I see no reason why we should not all go on a night time excursion to the island.
He turns to the underling of their employer.
Can you, or better yet, your mysterious and unidentified boss, get us transportation to the island on an evening while we await invitations? Also, what did you say we were getting paid again for this heist?

Teos of An |

"One moment, if you please. You say that there is going to be a gala at this estate in a few days time, correct? Where are they getting their supplies for this event? I suspect some will come from the city here, so here is my idea. A couple of us disguise ourselves as delivery people and then scout out the grounds. A little less risky than just showing up, and give us a good cover to wander around the place. What do you think?"

Miss Deredwell |

"Worth looking at, deliveries, or catering and extra servants closer to the event. Been a li'l while since I played dress-up, mind." Heather smiles innocently.

ULTRAGEEK |

We can secure you several small boats, but as Rev said, dressing as suppliers would likely secure you both transportation and cover. The have already started bringing food from several bakeries, fisheries, and the like, near the waterfront or the "noble" district. The matter of part will be decided by the amount of money our clients bid, but, you will be given a 50% cut to divide among yourselves.
As for invitations, we have attempted to secure then under the name of Gerwin Jelud

Jake Dash |

Is there a real Gerwin Jelud, and if not, what can you tell me about the alias? I would proudly offer my services to impersonate the noble. It is sort of my thing.
