Yoon - Dinketry |
Yoon would really really like that Blessing 3. She will add a blessing to the box.
Boon for Yoon?: 1d20 ⇒ 8 Nope.
Blessing 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 914
Yoon - Dinketry |
Ooh! I’d like that Ally 3 as a bonus upgrade.
Ally 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 579
So, in short, Yoon’d really like the Blessing 3. If she doesn’t get that, she’d like the Ally 3. If she gets the Blessing 3, she will take herself out of the running for the Ally 3 (because she doesn’t want to be greedy).
Balazar / khazkhaz |
Yoon can have the Blessing 3.
Desired upgrades (any of the following)
- Spell 3 x2
- Spell 3 Ally 3
- Spell 3 Item 3
Ezren Hawkmoon |
2-3B
Hawkmoon: 1d20 ⇒ 14
For my power feat, my only choice is hand size.
I'd like some combo of Spell 3, Ally 3, Item 3. I got 2 spell 3s last time, so if there isn't enough to go around, I'll forgo that.
Spell 3: 1 = 1
Item 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 310
Ally 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 908
Urgraz - The Patient |
I didn't expect an Ally 3 to be drawn. Very well. As mentioned in my previous post, Ally 3 becomes my primary preference, followed by Blessing 3. I've other card upgrades I can take, but they're all low-priority.
Ally 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 28
Hah! Very low rolls on my 1d1000s; looks like I'm taking the Item "3", what else?
Anyway, at least the Blessing 3 card I stole from the blessings discard pile won't go to waste!
Ezren Hawkmoon |
So, if we hand out first deck upgrades, it would be:
Yoon: Blessing 3
Salim: Ally 3
Balazar: Spell 3
Ezren: Spell 3
Urgraz: Item 3
That leaves the following for the bonus upgrade:
Ally 2 (x2)
Ally 1
Ally B
Armor B
Item 1
Item B (x2)
Spell 2
Spell 1
Spell B (x3)
Weapon 3 (x2)
Weapon B (x2)
Blessing B (x3)
Urgraz and Salim both wanted a Weapon 3, so I think they get that.
I think I'd take an Ally 2.
Ezren Hawkmoon |
I'm going to assume I have the ally 2 as a bonus. I'll drop Alaeron and add Grogul. If someone else wants that ally 2, then I'll go back to Alaeron.
For the spell, I took Mistform and dropped Invisibility.
Balazar / khazkhaz |
I'm taking Season of Tapestry’s Tides Reward #3
Yoon - Dinketry |
I’ll assume that I have the Spell 2 as my other upgrade to go with my Blessing 3. Deck list posted soon.
Balazar / khazkhaz |
Finalising my upgrades.
Spell 3
Fly > Create Spiked Pit
Blessing B
Blessing of the Gods > Blessing of the Spellbound
Salim the Undeserving |
Since I don’t think it was officially stated before:
Ally 3: Evangelist; removing Sharper
Weapon 3: Disrupting Rapier +1; removing Flaming Scimitar +1
a seafaring boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Power Feat: [X] Add 1d4 ([X] 1d8) to your non-combat check against a bane.
Salim the Undeserving |
Suggested Turn Order: Ez; Urg; Baz; Yn; Sal
If Yoon decides to stay at the Garrison, start Salim at Catacombs.
EmpTyger |
Setup is posted! Ezren still needs a starting location, but he's first to go. (And then if Hawkmoon could also adjust the turn order in the database?)
As mentioned in the hangout, I've created a page for each character on the party tracker spreadsheet. Copy columns C-E from your page into your deck tracker's "DON'T LOOK". (You may want to create a backup copy of your current deck tracker's card list so that you can revert quickly after this scenario.)
Columns F-G list the traits and card texts so that you will know what your cards actually do!
Note that the sets of 5 random boons at the top of scenario updates may inadvertently include some of the player boons. If you needed a random boon and get something from a player's deck, just ignore it and go on to the next.
Please don't hesitate to ask if something seems off. This is definitely a convoluted scenario. Thanks again for your patience as this got set up!
Salim the Undeserving |
#Winning?: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Notsomuch.
Blessing 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 794
Ally 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 884
If not Blessing 3, Blessing B: 1d1000 ⇒ 486
Next Scenario Turn Order: Same as before but starts with Yoon.
Balazar / khazkhaz |
1d20 ⇒ 16
Ally 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 892
Ally 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 197
Spell 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 273
Item 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 330

Urgraz's deck is returned to normal, including banished cards as per the scenario rule.

Recharge this card to add 1d6 to your Divine check.
Discard this card to explore your location.
Divine
Mammon

After you play this card, if the top card of the blessings discard pile has the Corrupted trait, recharge this card instead of discarding it.
Sword
Melee
Slashing
Finesse

Veteran
Powers
For your combat check, reveal this card to use your Strength or Melee skill + 1d8+2; you may additionally discard this card to add another 1d6 plus the scenario's adventure deck number. If the check is against a summoned bane, add an additional 1d8. If not proficient with weapons, the difficulty of this check is increased by 4.
Reveal this card to add 1d8 to your Perception check or to your check against a summoned bane.
Magic
Divine
Veteran
Powers
Banish this card and a number of blessings from the blessings deck equal to 1 plust the scenario's adventure deck number, then attempt to close your location.
Yoon - Dinketry |
Boon for Yoon?: 1d20 ⇒ 6 Nope.
I’d like that Ally 3, or the Spell 3...
Ally 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 269
Spell 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 22
That’s a likely ‘nope’ for those as well. I’ll figure out what else I want (the other upgrade) soon...
EmpTyger |
Random upgrade assignments:
- Balazar: Ally 3, Item 2
Ezren: none x2
Salim: Blessing 3, none (or Blessing B? Was interpreting that as you didn't want the Blessing B if you got the Blessing 3)
Urgraz: Weapon 3, Spell 2
Yoon: Spell 3, none
For the nones, let me know whether you'll be forfeiting the upgrade, or whether you'd like anything of the unclaimed. (Which currently are Spell 2, Spell 1, Ally 1, any B)
Salim the Undeserving |
Yes for me!
Official Upgrade for Salim:
Blessing 3 - Blessing of Eternal Rose to replace BotG.
Yoon - Dinketry |
Yoon will take one of the Spell 2s as well, if available.
Spell 3: Swapping Fan of Flames for Kinetic Blast
Spell 2: Swapping Cure for Cauterize
Ezren Hawkmoon |
I'm not interested in anything. You can pick two of the highest deck number cards left after everyone else and record them for me (for that crazy "build a temporary character using the rewards you other character has earned" situation).
Salim the Undeserving |

Upgrade hierarchy:
Item 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 550
Spell 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 875
Salim the Undeserving |
Given our ruling on when Tier can take effect, Balazar can take an Ally 2 if he wants and Yoon can take Spell 2 if she wants.
Urgraz - The Patient |
For Scenario 2-3D: A Fungus among Us...
Urgraz 2-3D Boon Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Urgraz banished Desecrate and The Asmodean Disciplines during the scenario, and will need to be replaced.
For Urgraz's Card Feat, he checks of Spell [X] 3, maxing his potential spell count.
Urgraz gains a Die Bump, bringing himself to a total of 3 die bumps.
Urgraz Tiers up to Tier 4 and chooses the Tyrant role card, his new character sheet is listed below. Urgraz chooses the following Power Feat from his Role card:
"[X] When another character at your location would banish ([ ] or bury) a card from her hand for its power, you may bury a boon to put that card in your hand."
No deck upgrade desires; Urgraz will take a card of the highest AD# that's not already claimed by anyone else. He will, however, refill his empty deck slots with the following cards.
New character sheet is below.
Strength d8 [X] +1 [X] +2 [X] +3 [ ] +4
Melee: Strength +3
Dexterity d6 [ ] +1 [ ] +2
Constitution d10 [ ] +1 [ ] +2 [ ] +3
Fortitude: Constitution +2
Intelligence d6 [ ] +1 [ ] +2
Wisdom d8 [ ] +1 [ ] +2 [ ] +3
Divine: Wisdom +1
Charisma d4 [ ] +1
Favored Card: Weapon
Hand Size 5 [X] 6 [ ] 7
Proficient with: All
Powers:
You may discard the top card of a character at your ([ ] or any) location's deck into her discard pile to add 1d6 ([X] +1) ([ ] +2) to your check.
When a character at your ([ ] or any) location is dealt damage when you fail a check, you may increase the damage by 1 to draw a card ([ ] or by 2 to draw 2 cards) after the check.
You may discard ([X] or recharge) a card to ignore the Corrupted trait on a card you play until the end of the turn.
[X] When another character at your location would banish ([ ] or bury) a card from her hand for its power, you may bury a boon to put that card in your hand.
[ ] When you would be dealt damage, another character at your ([ ] or any) location may be dealt that damage instead.
ADDITIONAL REWARDS:
Die Bumps remaining: 3
Note that Urgraz has a strong reason to generally stand at other player's locations, and he requests permission to technically bot for other players; he may wish to hand them a spell, have them use it, then return it to his hand with his power. This may involve Closing checks, due to Desecrate, but I can wait for people to handle it themselves if they prefer - I will try to telegraph such strategies.
By the way, this can allow Urgraz to re-use other spells that normally could not be re-used, such as Charm Person. Have them cast by someone without a magical skill, then he'll draw it into his hand.
Ezren Hawkmoon |
2-3D
Hawkmoon: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Spell card feat
Item 3: 1d1000 ⇒ 521
If anything. I have to check my options.

Alright. Final choices.
Choosing Teratomancer role card.
For power feat I will take the one that lets me recharge an ally to draw a monster.

Magic
Powers
At the end of your turn, bury this card to move.
Reveal this card to reduce Combat damage dealt to you by 2.
Banish this card to reduce all damage deal to you to 0; if proficient with light armors, bury it instead
If you are proficient with light armors, you may recharge this card when you reset your hand.
Ezren Hawkmoon |
If no one else wanted the item 3, I'd take it. But Balazar and Yoon had claim to it before I did. If I do end up with it, I'll replace my Spyglass, which is what I've swapped out for Wand of Enervation right now. So, I'd just replace the spyglass but still leave my new item set aside for Wand of Enervation for this scenario.
Yoon - Dinketry |
I wanted the Spell 2, in fact. I thought that Balazar was going to take the Item 3.
Balazar / khazkhaz |
I wanted the Spell 2, in fact. I thought that Balazar was going to take the Item 3.
I realised that Balazar has more need of the items I currently have, so I gave up the Item 3. Sorry for the confusion.
EmpTyger |
Also, it's a little debatable as to whether you see the monster drawn by the Warrens or not, though I think we're playing that you don't get to see it. Either way, it wasn't a Hill Giant - that Random Monster was already drawn by Balazar into his hand during his turn with his summoner-magics.
Oops, thanks for the catch. Fortunately, the next random monster (Myriana) was a Combat 14, so didn't affect anything.
As for whether the monster added by the Warrens should be known or not, I think I might risk disagreeing with Hawkmoon? I'm skeptical about interpreting the link he provided to mean that random cards from the box default to being known. Because that would imply that the random blessings when a villain escapes would also be known- yet I've never seen that done.
For reference:
When you encounter a monster, put a random monster from the box on top of another random open location deck.
If you defeated the villain, count the number of open locations, subtract 1, and retrieve that number of random blessings from the box. Shuffle the villain in with those blessings, then deal 1 card to each open location and shuffle those location decks.
Urgraz - The Patient |

**GASP**
I'm skeptical about interpreting the link he provided to mean that random cards from the box default to being known. Because that would imply that the random blessings when a villain escapes would also be known- yet I've never seen that done.
I would agree with you; when playing on a table I will always keep cards from the box hidden if they're moving from one facedown deck into another facedown deck if I'm able to. There's meaningful differences between a pile being faceup or facedown, generally, such as "draw a card from your discard pile" (faceup, so you choose which one) or "draw a card from your deck" (facedown, so you pick the top one).
However, to play Devil's Mazmezz's Advocate, nowadays a lot of effects actually do require you to look at blessings from the blessings deck (at least) before moving/drawing/shuffling them anywhere, because it can otherwise break the game when villain cards or Favors from the blessings deck end up in places where they shouldn't be. A handful of Wrath of the Righteous scenarios ended in that, which led to players coming to the conclusion that the only meaningful way to avoid some of these situations was to look at each blessing to make sure they were blessings.
But it doesn't line up with how I envision 'random' cards, that's for sure.
