Odan Shan |

There's no real knowledge checks in 5e like there are in PF. So it's up to the DM to determine who, if anyone, knows what about any given creature, or to pick a skill to use for information.
Int: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Odan has absolutely no idea what these foul things are. He rushes headlong into them, axe held high.
Attack!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Pindleton Montague IV |

History: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Hmm... that's probably nothing useful or informative.
"You can try talking if you all prefer, but those are sharp looking weapons, and, my apologies, but I value my health and well-being more than theirs!"
Shortbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

GM Infinity |

Pindleton's arrow threads a gap in their cover like a needle, impaling the rubbery froggy flesh. Clutching his wound, the beast grimaces as the other snickers. He points at Odan before they both throw dark wooden javelins...
Red, Ranged: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Critical! ...yikes
Dmg: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + (2) = 7 dmg piercing to Odan
Yellow, Ranged: 1d20 ⇒ 10
The beasts eyes light up like he just spotted a gold horde at Odan's wound. Odan and Gloriana are quick to retaliate.
However, as Odan gets within melee range, the stench goes from bad day to worse day as it seems to interact physically or magically with Odan's physiology...
DC 12 constitution save or poisoned. Odan I suppose if you fail that check you will need to reroll for disadvantage. If you succeed though its a hit, and together with Pindletons shot that one is killed...no pressure ;)
Gloriana's javelin goes wide, skipping off the floor stones like a rock on water, but she charges forth into melee.
Gloriana same deal, DC 12 con save please. Any success on these makes you immune for an hour.

GM Infinity |

Strength of the mountain indeed. That means...
Odan's greataxe tears the frogs face from its chest, sending it flying further behind some barrels.
Also since you saved, you are immune to that stench effect for 1 hour. One down, one to go. Also, just for ooc knowledge, its 5e troglodytes you're fighting here.

Seth Kairos |

Seth moves in order to have a better angle and unleash his eldritch energy on the remaining frog-guy
Eldritch Blast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d10 ⇒ 1

GM Infinity |

Seth's aim is flawless, nailing the beast square. The sound of the blast, however, is reminiscent of a fey queen sighing, and seems to have little impact.
Round One:::::
Pindleton
Creatures
Sohar, Odan, Seth, Glor <--UP
Pindleton can go ahead and take round 2's first action as well

Pindleton Montague IV |

Pindleton moves just inside of the doorway and while the creature is focused on Gloriana and Sohar, sneaks a shot at it.
Shortbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage w/ Sneak Attack: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 3 = 9

GM Infinity |

Sohar, need a con save DC 12 for the stink aura
Pindleton's arrow seems to disrupt some kind of chameleon-like defense system. It's skin flickers colors, turning the shade of the flooring stone, to the shade of Gloriana's armor, to bright magenta and back again rapidly. Horribly wounded and surrounded it makes a furious rush at Gloriana, trying to bite at her neck while slashing at her guts...
multiattack
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
claw1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
claw2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
It's effort turns out to be incredibly pathetic, and really quite sad in the final analysis.
jesus christ, are you kidding me? 3 fumbles in a row, hahaha

Odan Shan |

Odan bursts out laughing.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
I'm not sure I can kill something that pathetic! he says, still laughing. Dear god, my sides are hurting!

Seth Kairos |

Seth tries to put an end to the creature embarrassment
Eldritch blast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 161d10 ⇒ 10

GM Infinity |

The creature turns to Odan giving a sad look like 'Hey, don't laugh at me!' before Seth's death engine bores a hole through its chest. You see Sohar on the other side before it flops to the ground, lifeless.
Combat over. Loot to be had in this armory room, give me a second to convert it to 5e.

GM Infinity |

Searching around the arms reveals:
-a silvered dagger
-shield encrusted with blue gems, and a solid gold leaping dolphin
-a banner depicting a bird of living flame
Additionally, if there's any mundane equipment from the PHB (weapons and armor of normal materials) you want/need roll d100. 50 or higher it is here.
You have an eastern exit and southeast exit, both with wooden closed doors. The southeast exit is obviously trapped: had someone opened the door from the other side, they would've got a large spiked log to the face.

Gloriana Beesunn |

While the rest of her companions check out the room, Gloriana takes the shield and secures it to her backpack. She then takes a few moments to get her second wind.
Afterward, she listens at the door closest to her.
Second Wind: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Seth Kairos |

I don't have the book at hand, but there have to be better light armors than leather
better light armor: 1d100 ⇒ 30 -I guess not

GM Infinity |

The rusted old hinges slide out of their mossy cobblestone holsters, and the door falls to the ground. Two stone altars, one black and one white, sit at either end of this large chamber, which takes up two wings of the tower on this level. The crumbling remains of wooden benches sag in front of each altar beneath rotting ceiling tapestries. Carved symbols and writings snake along the walls. The burnt corpses of two troglodytes lie on the floor in the center of the room.
More of notice however, are the 2 burning skeletons which stand, and turn to gaze at you with their fiery sockets. They unleash a long, silent, scream...
Will get map/inits together, one sec...

GM Infinity |

Odan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Sohar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Pindleton: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Gloriana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Seth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
BurningSkellies: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
The skeletons swarm at you with incredible alacrity, their scimitars sport an eerie blue flame like their faces, in need of death.
Red, Melee: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Odan Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1 slashing
Odan Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 2 fire
Red, Yellow: 1d20 ⇒ 14 cover mod
And even when they aren't slashing flameblades into your dwarven muscles, the heat is unbearable at close range...
Odan Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5 This technically occurs at the start of your turn...so 8 total hp there, yikes.
Round One:::::
Skeletons
All PCs <---

Odan Shan |

Ouch!
Odan strikes back at the flaming skeleton.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
If the attack just enough to destroy it, then he'll stay to fight the second. If not, he'll move back into the stairwell.

![]() |

"Should we not cut down the obvious trap and inspect the room, being sure to leave no enemies behind us?," Sohar asks to a nearly empty room before following up. Seeing the skeletons, Sohar rushes to Odan's side to help.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Scimitar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

GM Infinity |

Odan's first swing sends massive sections of bone back to the crypt, but its fighting arm is still good and creepily still stands. Sohar finally separates the skull from the spinal column...but something unexpected happens.
As the flaming skull hits the floor, it shatters releasing a final blast of searing hellfire.
Those in melee range need dex save DC 11 to half this damage
Fiery Death: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Gloriana steps through the shockwave to assault the second abomination, ripping scraps of old armor off like bark.
It didn't matter for these attacks, but note fighting diagonally through doorways gives your target half cover.

Seth Kairos |

Seth feels relief that his combat style put him out of the range the explosion.
Eldritch Blast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 251d10 ⇒ 4 -BTW, I'm rolling my attacks normally, letting the DM to determine if and how much cover the monsters have

GM Infinity |

No problem, you guys are rolling so freaking high anyways it doesn't matter <:D
Seth's blast seems to attack the very animating spirit force keeping the bones together, one more strike and its likely to fall.
Round One:::::
Skeletons
Odan, Sohar, Gloriana, Seth, Pindleton <---

Pindleton Montague IV |

After being distracted by some of the stonework and trying to discern the culture of those who built this place, the explosion grabs Pindleton's attention. Sorry was out of touch over the weekend!
shortbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8

GM Infinity |

Understandable, its holiday in US.
The last skeleton's teeth are closed hard against each other, yet a voice eminates from the entity "Yerok sed meshet...sed meshet rinkesh!" a thundercrack is heard through the walls of stone as it brings its flaming sword down on Gloriana...
Flaming Sword: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
...but with a quick jerk of her neck the blade only finds air.
Round Two:::::
Skeleton
Odan, Sohar, Gloriana, Seth, Pindleton <---

GM Infinity |

The greataxe slices the bones like bamboo, instead of a bloody marrow a blackened mush wrought with blue flame escapes in another fiery explosion...
Fiery Death: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Gloriana and Odan this time, same dex save DC 11 for half
Combat over
The atmosphere of the room calmed, you notice quite a few parchments piled up on each altar.
