Most important thing, if you have any doubt about anything, or you feel I am missing something, let me know! You can use private message if you prefer not to post a public message.
I will give 1 day for you to sign in here answering to my invitation. If you feel you need more time to level up your character or complete your profile, report so in this discussion thread and you will have an extra day while the Gameplay thread warms up!
At some point I will review your character so try to have all the information properly available in your profile. If you can provide a link to your past chronicles, it will be even better.
Be kind to the other players and have fun!
PD: I'm not native speaker, so you will find errors and weird grammatical structures all the time. If some kind of error is repeating enough for you to bother, please, let me note ;)
Reesa |
Character name: Reesa
PFS number: 12445-8
Day job: None.
Brief character presentation: Reesa is a charismatic aasimar. She is a 'goody two shoes' type of character.
Ma'Huuk |
Character name: Ma’Huuk
PFS number: 121383-9
Day job: None
Brief character presentation: Ma’Huuk is a simple, straightforward, aggressive, physically-massive, and savage Bekyar tribesman who’s got a personal vendetta against slavers. He cultivates the growing power inside him as he seeks to grow in understanding of himself and the world alongside like-minded Pathfinders.
I'm still working through his gear, as I just rebuilt him.
EDIT: also, Ma'Huuk does have an animal companion (an Allosaurus), but I'm fine if it doesn't get much integration in this Scenario.
Kiti |
Character name: Anne Katherine White, known as Kitty / Kiti
PFS number: 97350-2
Day job: Dancer +2
Brief character presentation: Anne Katherine White, known as Kitty or Kiti by her friens, is an enthusiastic, talkative gnome druid from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. She thinks good of everyone and easily forgives enemies, although when need arises she fights bravely. She wants to see all and talk about everything, which makes her sometimes hard to follow. She has almost white hair with a shade of pink, wears a pink dress and a pink bow on her hair, and is accompanied by a white tiger, Mimi, who also has a pink bow. She loves dancing and all kinds of pretty things.
Eva Uzair |
Character name: Eva Uzair
PFS number: 60133-8
Day job: Perform (Dance): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Brief character presentation: Eva left her staid life in a wealthy Kelish merchant family for the life of adventure in the Pathfinder Society. Initially she was affiliated with the Qadira faction of the Society, but left when it became the Exchange as that reminded her too much of why she left her homeland in the first place. Instead, she joined the Scarab Sages, hoping to use her skills to unearth arcane secrets. Despite her love of excitement, she can be quite sensible about how to proceed in dangerous situation and in general tries to get along with everyone.
Arthrax Bellringer |
Character name: Arthrax Bellringer
PFS number: 73432-1
Day job: Profession (Sellsword): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Brief character presentation: Arthrax grew up the third born of a pair of Sarenrae priests in Varisia. His mother Iris had come from the frosty northern lands, but his father Luthar descended from generations of Sarenrae priests in and around Korvosa, the family legacy of divine gifts and service to Sarenrae passed down over centuries. As Arthrax grew older, his brother Thomasz and his sister Lucendia both inherited the divine gift, as expected. At first, it appeared Arthrax would receive the gift as well, for he could stabilize a dying man with unnatural skill and staunch the flow of blood from a lethal sword wound more quickly than any of the rest of them. A few years passed, and although his skill at keeping death at bay for those sorely injured never waned, it became apparent that Arthrax would be the first in many generations to not receive the clerical gifts of Sarenrae. Arthrax was a large young man, so his parents found a place for him as a holy protector of the church of Sarenrae, dispelling the minor arguments that took place and making sure the tithes left to the priests remained undisturbed. As time went on, Arthrax became increasingly despondent. When his parents and siblings looked at him, he saw their love and caring for him, but underneath he saw something else...PITY. And from his parents, a certain amount of embarrassment that he too had not received the divine gift, a suspicion that there was some darkness lurking under the surface. When he could not stand it any further, he announced his intention to travel the world to his father, who did little to dissuade him. Arthrax found that his size and later, his skill at arms, found him desired as a sellsword, so he found work guarding caravans, repelling goblin raids, and serving as a bodyguard for a minor noble for a year or so. He took to his work with enthusiasm, realizing that distraction made Sarenrae's rejection fade to the background. He also nursed the bottle to help him cope at night, drinking himself into oblivion. Arthrax gave up the drink after getting violently expelled from a caravan where he vomited on the fine silks he was supposed to be guarding.
Jani Lee Two-spirit |
Character name: Jani Lee Two-spirit
PFS number: 42641-5
Day job: Craft (clothing) +12
Brief character presentation: A very strange tiefling from the deserts of Qadira, Jani always uses plural pronouns to refer to themselves, and believes that their body contains two souls, those of two twins conceived by a Sarenite crusader in the Worldwound, and altered and merged by the abyssal energies she was exposed to. A seer told her she was carrying twins, a boy and a girl, but after she returned home to Qadira, only one child, displaying fiendish insect- and scorpion-like traits, was born.
Defended by their mother and the dawnflower priests who supported her, Jani grew up in service to Sarenrae, but also as a merchant in the Qadiran tradition. Their appearance and mannerisms are unsettling and offputting, but they are loyal and committed to the advancement of the Society.
I am still updating the character details to complete the leveling-up to 3.
GM Rutseg |
I am happy to see everybody has reported :)
Please, continue to the gameplay thread to start the game.
Please, do not be afraid being proactive in your actions, we can always retcon them, and include additional actions within spoilers if you foresee any contrariety.
Arthrax Bellringer |
I hate to do this, but I want to forewarn everyone. Arthrax is a good-aligned character, and those two half-orcs just murdered a man in cold blood and are laughing about it. Violence is about to commence unless someone wants to get involved and try to destress the situation.
GM Rutseg |
I hope you all have enjoyed the game. It was a bit frustrating to me as the Scenario offered little to no alternatives in all the encounters. I feel this scenario could have been a VIP one if a little bit more of work was placed on it.
Feel free to ask whatever you want to know from the scenario. I would be also glad to have feedback about the experience, including any advice you would want to share in order to perform a more appealing GMing or to better run this scenario.
Important: Let me know any entry you wish me to include in your chronicle (like Faction Journal goals). Also, if you want to play this scenario in Slow mode.
Jani Lee Two-spirit |
Day Job: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24 20 gp.
I'd like to try for the Exchange Faction Journal card option:
Acquire a merchant’s license in a city with a population of 5,000 or more other than Absalom. Doing so requires spending
25 gp per character level and succeeding on an Appraise or Profession (merchant) check with a DC equal to 15 plus your
character level. If you exceed the DC of the check by 10 or more, you instead receive the license for free. Whenever you
are in that city, you may purchase all mundane items at a 10% discount (maximum 15% discount).
Appraise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 That works. Please note spending 75gp on acquiring a merchant license for Sedeq
GM Rutseg |
The invite is part of the scenario. Yet it is just a totally optional RP event. You individually can decide not to attend, while others might, or perhaps none want. The Scenario is basically concluded once you find the statues and deliver them to the VC.
Ok Jani, I will take note, thanks ;)
Reesa |
I had fun DM, I think you did a good job with this scenario.
If no one else wants to go to the dinner, I understand, but I think Reesa would keep her word and attend.
Kiti |
Patiently trying to talk in encounters that are forced combats, it's always fun.
Kiti goes dancing around the nearest shamanistic bonfire
Dayjob (dancer): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
That didn't go well. 0 gold.
Nothing special for the chronicle.
GM Rutseg |
Herein you will find your Chronicles. Please let me know if you find anything amiss.
If dropbox tries to ask you to log in, just escape and make sure you press the button asking only to download. It should be possible to download without the need of having a user
Ma'Huuk |
Got it. I didn't know this, but if a player runs out of tier in these older scenarios (that don't specifically call out an out-of-tier gold amount), the DM has to determine the amount himself? That's lame.
Either way, thanks for running the game, Rutseg. Mucho fun!
Reesa |
I'm on my iPhone for the week, so I can't view the sheet. Don't suppose any of you could give me the quick stats as far as gold, and if there are any boons listed? Thanks.
And thanks to the DM for running this for us!
