Nice thought Jelani. I will of course need to be considered. I was going to wait until I had my alias finished before posting, but I want to lay claim to my build. Kitsune ninja going into nine-tails. First level will be rough, but 2nd will be sick.
A couple of quick questions while I'm here.
Does having arms or a bite attack or simple weapon proficiency count as having the appropriate evolution for the purpose of prerequisites?
Does the half-elf have the evolution point favored class option available?
Can we take the extra evolutions feat?
Can we gain feats presumably available to eidolons, such as multiattack?
1) Don't know what you mean, can you be more specific?
2) No, because it's not coming from a class.
3) Yes, already said that in the original post.
4) You can gain any feat you qualify for, but I reserve the right to veto something I'm not remembering right now.

DM Jelani |

I'm a bit surprised no one is trying a wild shape focused druid.
Side question: Some of the eidolon abilities say they require a particular base form. Do we just ignore those requirements or is everyone considered a 'Biped' base form?
I'll say that you'll need to justify it to me. If you want to take pounce, you need to have four legs. So evolve two more.
Basically you start out as a "biped", but if you can sufficiently justify taking an evolution that requires a different base form I'll allow it.

DM Jelani |

If we end up caster heavy, I'll focus my build more on summoning. Question though for u Jelani:
You said only crafting was for expendable items, like potions, scrolls, and wands. Is that for the entire campaign, or just at game start.
Cause I could totally make a Shield Iron Golem later for a tank for us...just saying...lol
The crafting rules will be in place for the whole campaign.

I think I've got a spark or two for a background story, but I thought I'd ask: How do envision the tone of these adventures, especially given the evolutionary twist? Do you see this as having room for some humor, or are you expecting mostly drama and angst regarding our slowly mutating bodies?
I tend to run dark and gritty, but I also like to inject humor sometimes. A funny character wouldn't be out of place.
The PFS scenarios themselves vary in tone, but it's usually a high adventure type of feeling.

1) "Weapon Training (Ex): An eidolon learns to use a weapon, gaining Simple Weapon Proficiency as a bonus feat. If 2 additional evolution points are spent, it gains proficiency with all martial weapons as well."
Supposing you're already proficient in simple weapons, can you just spend 2 and get martial weapon proficiency?"Trip (Ex): ...The eidolon must possess the bite evolution to select this evolution."
Supposing I play a half-orc or tengu (with a bite attack), can I get the trip evolution without first taking the bite evolution?
Etc.
2) Fair enough. Just thought it would be a fun bonus.
3) Sorry, I must've forgotten that while sleeping.
4) Multiattack and Multi-weapon fighting are usually reserved for monsters, but eidolons get multiattack as a bonus feat when they get 3 or more natural attacks. Multi-weapon fighting could easily come up with the addition of limbs. Some other monster feats may also apply well with the addition of these evolutions. So I guess non-PC feats are taken on a pending-approval basis?
As a new question, how do you feel about faction traits? For instance, if my character was Osiriani, could I take one of their PFS faction traits?
And finally, I was hoping for some feedback on which character concept you might think is more interesting. I had thought the kitsune ninja to be an orphan of scandal turned murder, hailing from Osirian. The warpriest I imagined as a rigidly religious Chelaxian with a passion for order and reverence for fire.

1) Yes, you can use racial abilities or feats as their equivalent evolutions to qualify for prerequisites.
4) All the monster feats I can think of off the top of my head should be fine. I added the caveat as an insurance policy. Multi whatever is fine.
5) Faction traits are fine, if you're from the correct faction.
For me personally Kitsune are meh to begin with, and it makes little sense to me that one would be from Osirian. One from Minkai would be more palatable, especially if they are a ninja.
The warpriest could be cool, depending on how much of a jerk he is.

I'm back, and this time, I'm packing backstory!
Submitted for your approval, Jelani.
I'm still planning on adding some notes on character, personality, appearance, and potential development of both evolutions and other class abilities. But I think she's starting to really take shape no pun intended!

DM Jelani |

Would abilities like the evolution Improved Damage, stack with the Ranger Natural Weapon style option (Improved Natural Weapon)?
Yes, the improved natural attack feat stacks with the improved damage evolution. You don’t need to be a ranger to take it though.

Cladissa Velorryan |

Still adding stuff; and realized my character page didn't quite fit your specifications. Hopefully I'm a lot closer to what you require. That part should be fixed. Right now, I have her appearance describing what she looks like before the syringe. Obviously, that will change.
I also plan to retool her Pathfinder trial a bit and make it more attuned to her actual skill sets. But I'll post each time I make a significant change.

Ifrit Arcane Duelist wrote:Man, having evolutions is great, but I guess it's still hard to meet BAB bonus requirements as a first level Bard...Arcane strike.
Actually, the Arcane Duelist archetype gets it as a free bonus feat. It's not the damage I'm worried about, it's that the feat chains I'm looking at will have to wait until I get a higher BAB. I wanted to try out the Step Up chain, since the archetype also gets a bunch of free normally fighter-only anti-caster feats. Stick to those wizards and evil clerics and never let them flee my sword. :3

True, forgot about that.

DM Jelani |

All right, I think the build is done. Still need to do equipment (and I will adjust my stats if my gear changes anything, of course) and background/personality/appearance, but other than that I think I'm solid.
If you could list your evolutions and racial SLA in the actual stat block that’d be great. Thanks.

Cladissa Velorryan |

I'm back.
I rewrote some of her backstory, as promised. This time the trial was suited more toward her actual skill set, though she still failed miserably. It's kind of fun; Cladissa is really turning into a screw up. I might throw in a drawback to emphasize this.
I also might need to rework some of her hexes, since it's starting to be hard envisioning her cackling. I'll think on that.

Loup Blanc |

Things have slowed down on the character, which is a Demon-Spawn Tiefling Ranger with the Beastmaster and Skirmisher archetypes. Main concept is that he was always pretty bestial, more at home with animals than people, and the injection is just going to further that, turning him into a beast capable of tearing foes apart with his powerful jaws.
If he could have some sort of relationship with another character, like linked backgrounds, I think that'd be useful, since he's not going to be the brightest knife in the shed (indicative of how he thinks, that).

Ye Olde Liste of Applicants
Arcane:
Argor Constantine - M Human Wizard (Conjuror)
Kaloo Narvian - F Gnome Sorcerer (Tattooed Sorcerer)
Cladissa Velorryan - F Human Witch
Melee:
Maqir - F Ifrit Bard (Arcane Duelist)
Azrin - M Suli Warpriest (Sarenrae)
Ranged:
Hrimnagel Avaldamon - M Svirfneblin Inquisitor (Preacher, Count Renalc)
----------------------------------
Maqir - I'd still like you to list your evolutions in their own section down in the stat block..
-------------------
EVOLUTIONS (X Points)
-------------------Tail (1 pt), Bite (1 pt), etc
Azrin - Same goes for you.

DM Jelani |

Azrin - Also, I'm not really buying the rough and ready trait and profession torch bearer. Can you show me some kind of Golarion based evidence that there are people who make a living holding torches? Also the trait specifically says it's used with sturdy tools. A torch might be considered a tool, but they aren't really sturdy.
You're going to need catch off guard or firebrand. I'm fine with re-flavoring firebrand to Sarenrae.

![]() |

Fair enough. I don't like the backstory I have right now, so I was thinking of changing him to some kind of military parade leader. Might that work?
Also, I'm aware it's not as sturdy as say, a hammer, but it does have specific improvised weapon rules, which leads me to believe it is at least close to being a practical weapon.
