I'll have to refresh my memory on Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible. That was actually the first PFS scenario I ever GMed.

For those who have done this before, how far in advance do the new scenarios debuting at GenCon become available for GMs to download/prep them? I usually need at least a week each to prep scenarios, so if I get the special and both parts of Bonekeep with only a week before the convention or something like that, I won't be able to prep them well enough to do a good job running them. I'm assuming they know what they're doing enough to not let that happen, but I just wanted to ask.

I can happen that you're printing them right before you leave for the convention .. at that point you just have to prep them as best you can and hope that you're able to ad lib if needed.

A number of you indicate 12+ for the special. I do not envy you. I consider myself an adequate GM and last year for the Runcarved Key I gave my players the worst possible experience. It may have been the worst GM performance of my entire life. I thought I could handle the myriad of abilities players would through at me. Man was I wrong. They had things that the scenario just wasn't prepared to deal with and clearly I was not well-versed enough with the nuances of high-level play to overcome. You have my sympathy and best-wishes for a successful game. You have your hands full.

Question for you guys while I have your attention: As this is my first GenCon, I read on the website that players are normally charged $2 to play in games there. Does this apply for PFS scenarios too, or is Paizo fronting that cost?

Nope, the player buys tickests -- which I think is 2$ an hour to play -- you can buy generics if you don't know what you want to play but want to get in on something.

Running APL 15/16 for Race for the Runecarved Key Parts 1 and 2 was definitely one of the most challenging experiences I've had as a GM. Luckily I had a great group of players who were equally invested in providing a fun experience. I'm looking forward to having a new table of Seekers this summer. Hopefully I can do even better this time!
