I'd like to join if possible, I'm new to pathfinder and used to play D&D 4e a year or so ago. I want to make a gnome bard or witch but I don't yet have the book for witch so likely bard. Lastly I've never played by post before so yah I could use a PbP 101 run down lol. I'm sorry I'm such a newb.
FYI I just ran out and got the Advanced Players Guide so I will be playing a Gnome Witch (a neutral good one) based on the transformation power source. That is if you guys and gals let a newbie join you :D

Well by half-drow i meant a half-elf with the drow blood race traits.
Is that from Advanced Race Guide? I don't have that yet, will probably get the PDF this afternoon. We will have to check on it, reading the Additional Resources, I'm not sure it is legal.
From Additional Resources-
Half-Elves: all alternate racial traits except drow-blooded and drow magic are legal
for play; all racial subtypes except drow-descended are legal for play; all favored
class options are legal for play; all racial archetypes except wild caller are legal for
play.

Just so you know, I've already played First Steps part II and III (got in on a game late), but not I. So if this goes forward, that's great, and I'll be in just for the first scenario.
LightHeretic, we're talking about a Pathfinder Society (PFS) organized play scenario, so if you're unfamiliar with what that is, you'll want to check out the following general web page from which you can get to everything PFS:
Essentially, PFS is a shared gaming experience with some extra rules to ensure balance and fairness. It makes it easier for random groups of Pathfinder gamers to get together for short scenarios and grow their characters (e.g., at conventions). Essentially, it's Pathfinder with extra ground rules to make this all happen. Here is the document that you will want to download and read over to see how PFS works:
Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play
And finally a PbP guide:
Hope this helps! Honestly, I've been doing PbP for years and years, and while I love the roleplaying it affords, PFS seems to be the only reasonable way to make it work so you don't take a year to gain a level or have a group disintegrate because people fall away from the game. You'll enjoy yourself - when D&D 4e came out, my two in-person groups both tried it for a year or two, then abandoned it for Pathfinder and never looked back.

Hey, I just got directed to this thread. I'd really like to get into a pbp and I'm also getting into a local pfs game, so this would be perfect. I'm like a couple of people in here, pretty new. I've already got a society character, he's a really basic dwarf fighter, but I could come up with something else if I needed to. I'm trying to create some basic characters before I start getting into the advanced players guide and all that. So I would definitely be in if you'll have me :)

Yeah, I was going to say Marisan, that I don't have a problem if anyone wants to run through prts 2&3 again. Obviously as long as they don't spoiler it for the others. I personally have only played prt 3, and will play prt 2 in Feb, I am just eager to GM and don't want to wait to play them first. I live at least 1.5 hrs from any games at the moment, so PbP has been really beneficial

Let me throw a couple more things out there. I am pretty new to PFS and Pathfinder myself and have zero experience GM'ing. I just started to GM a failed Pbp not too long ago, we are just getting started. There is not really any PFS in my area so I am trying to organize a group which means I'll probably be needed to GM, hence my wanting to GM this. I figure that starting to GM on PbP is ideal because of the lag time, it will allow the check rules and whatnot. Marisan, I appreciate the offer of help and will probably take you up on it at some point. C. Rowe, I've been following the Willful Ignorance thread, so I know your no slouch on rules either. I ask you guys to point out anything you see, so as to make me a better GM. Any critique is welcome. Also, I will probably start a new game thread, because when I took over the other game, it was about a week plus before I was given control. So just to speed things up and maybe recruit another player or two? Anyway your thoughts are welcome.

I'd totally be in on this if you guys'd have me. I have a lot of DnD experience, but relatively little Pathfinder (though they are similar...) Haven't done a PbP before so that'd be new for me too.
I'd probably wanna play a Magus, they look mad cool (and I think they're legal in PFS? they are mentioned briefly in the guide), likely an elf... if we're wanting shorties for giggles though, I could totally do a halfling.
Edit - (started filling in the info for a character)

This is Marisan. I'm happy to help, GM!
And thanks for pointing that out about First Steps being only for 1st level characters - I had forgotten that. So dwarf sorcerer it is!
Just wanted to point out, that if your stats on the profile are accurate for that character, you may want to move some points to charisma, if you want your sorc to actually be able to use their spells :O
Edit - Nvm, saw the thingy that lets you use wis vs cha
Ps - Totally ninja'ing you guys' format for stats as a template.

FryrianBased on seeing him post all around the boards, I'm guessing Christopher Rowe has done First Steps. Mr Rowe?
Tonight I'm going to generate my witch so I can use her. I'll also read those posts that were linked for me to look at.

Hey everybody, I've created a campaign recruitment thread here. Check in over there and we get this started.
