I think an excellent choice would be an AP that spends the majority of it's volumes in one place. I don't think we have had that for awhile. Maybe a City AP, like one set in Absalom?

Sure but set in Taldor instead of Absolm please!

I've no idea if this idea shows up somewhere in the previous 701 posts, or the earlier threads in this subject, but I'd be surprised if it didn't.

How about some sort of Andoran vs Cheliax freedom fighter AP? There are Prestige Classes, and Pirate types that could fit right into this.

Perhaps the characters start as slaves, similar to the opening of Shackles.

It need not just focus on Cheliax, there are lots of slave markets in the Inner Sea region.

Anyways, it's the kernel of an idea.

what about MAMMOTH LORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats right i learned how to do Bold:) MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I think a "Colonization" AP should be of an island, or other remote land, where there is no known* sentient native life. If that island is large enough, you could have more than one competing colony, possibly with the PCs being able to choose which they are aligned with.

I would heavily frown on this one. Colonization decimated entire populations and killed cultures and ways of life. It was genocidal, whether or not that genocide was intended. Plus, it treated 'natives' as second-class citizens, or far worse.

We kinda already have that in Sargava, anyways...
True, but there's a difference between having it around and having it as the goal for a group of PCs in an adventure. Sargava's colonialism is in no way portrayed as a good thing, and Golarion has genocide, rape, and serial murder too...that doesn't mean you should make an AP where the PCs goal is to do those things.

Oh no, I was agreeing with you; an interesting colonization is going to region where the locals don't already inhabit (due to monsters or what have you), and pretty much starting off neutrally with the natives.

If I recall the Inner Sea Guide, Andoran and Cheliax(?) have colonists in already in Arcadia.

Andoran has a colony on the fragments of Azlant, the Sun Temple Colony, it is detailed in lost cities of golarion, its not going well there:D

Ah, it was Azlant.

Hm, also on the colonial side, I forgot Amanandar (Taldor) in Tian Xia.

I know it's a bit of a crazy pitch, and perhaps not next but soon but:

Pathfinder: War of the Worlds.

Fantasy Heroes vs Alien Invasion.

That might be what Iron gods turns out to be.

Liberty's Edge

I still think there's a LOT of potential in a colonization-themed AP, exactly because there is so much in-built conflict there. There are bound to be tons and tons of merchants, soldiers and administrators who want to take every advantage of the natives, con them, rape them, murder them, take their land, their wealth, their everything. There's bound to be so much wrongdoing, and that's perfect fertile ground for heroes to rise to the occasion. PCs who stand up and say, "no, this is wrong".

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure the theme of Iron Gods will be more Robots than Aliens.

I dunno, the kasatha have been hinted to have a pretty major role, and they're organic.

I am sure every AP volume will have at least some new organic alien lifeforms.

You just keep telling yourself that.

For myself, I would love to see another sequel to Runelords and Shattered Star.

Imagine if two runelords came back, IE Necromancy, and Wrath. They're waking up, and set their agents against each other and the PCs must defeat them both.

Destroying first blade and ending the unfair trials should be the main part of this AP. They are an affront to Pharasma!

i used to put a lot of thought and effort into writing what kind of plots or what not i'd want for APs but every time the AP Brain trust blew them away so now i just throw out a place and let the Suits in Washington (state that is) figure out the rest:)

True, but I don't think I could play a Galt compaign without trying to end the use of final blades and destroying every last one. Those items are just morally wrong.

Seeing as a book about Belkzen is coming out, might be about orcs.

Spoiler:
ORCS IN GALT!

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Yeah the next one might be about Orcs or at least take place in Belkzen at some point, remember ROW had a irrisen book beforehand and we were only there for less then 2 sections of the AP.

If they do come up with another AP dealing with Runelords It might have to get Mythic at some point.

Spoiler:
Xanderghul we know will be a 10 mythic rank archmage, probably in some floating castle (or mythic sanctum).

Sorshen is going to be mythic as well, hidden underneath Korvosa. However I do think that she may have gained the Vampire template while she was sleeping. blood magic and all.

Alaznist is going to be a low tier mythic champion. Probably become a half-demon due to her work in demonology.

Zutha Is going to probably be a level 19 Necromancer Lich. probably with a few mythic lich tiers (1 or 2) due to the place where he was entombed and the nature of the Phylactery he had made.

Belimarius Is going the be a level 18 Abjurationist. guaranteed to have some powerful defenses on her. Otherwise she will have changed the least.

Karzoug and Krune have already been completed.

Liberty's Edge

Actually...Zutha's explicitly less powerful than Karzoug...so probably only 17th plus the Template and Items and such.

And we don't know that Xanderghul has 10 tiers...just more than the other Runelords.

Aside from that you're right...but that doesn't necessarily necessitate Mythic to take on anyone but Xanderghul. Sorshen could easily be 'only' CR 24 or 25, and if you go with the Fast XP track and set it up right, you could get the PCs to 19th or 20th and taking her on as an epic challenge by the end.

And everyone else is less impressive than her.

actually deadmanwalking

:
In Mythic Realms it is stated that Zutha is locked away in the Cenotaph and was Mythic, that was where Tar-Baphon was able to unlock his own Mythic power

Don't forget were getting a giant hunters handbook so we could be dealing with a lot of giants in the next AP. We also haven't had a giant as the final villain in an AP so that would be interesting as well.

good find! to be honest i tune in and out of the ask the author threads:)

also to those that are guessing maybe orcs AP remember the RPG Superstar module this year is orc related so that book might be in support of that, but i would welcome a Belkzen AP quite enthusiastically:) BRING ON THE HORDES!!!!!!!

Giants seem to show up in a lot of AP's, and what self-respecting Orc Horde doesn't keep a few around as siege breakers, etc?

Having just reread through Crystal Frazier's 'The Harrowing', the 'Deck of Harrowed Tales' write-up in 'Artifacts & Legends', the Harrow section in the recent 'Occult Mysteries' , and the Player Companion 'Harrow Handbook'; I want an AP that focuses on (or at least uses) the Deck of Harrowed Tales, similarly to the way Reign of Winter used Baba Yaga's Hut.

Some AP adventures I'd love to see...

1) Mediogalti Island and the Red Mantis.

2) Mwangi Expanse and the Gorilla King.

3) Lastwall where the players take charge of a boarder fortress to defend and against the hoards of Belkzen.

4) A Five King's Mountain mega dungeon.

Paizo, just let me know when those are done. Thanks ;)

What about the Starstone test? Additionally, I think it would be neat to see an adventure where a number of tasks must be completed against a count down mechanic. As to locations in Golarion: I don't have a strong preference.

I WOULD LIKE AN ADVENTURE PATH WHERE WE INVADE AND DESTROY YOUR PATHETIC WORLD OF GOLARION AND THEN ONWARD TO EARTH!!!!!! THAT ORSON WELLES IS STARTING TO ANNOY ME!!!!

1) Absalom.
2) Dwarves & Orcs
3) Aboleth, Aboleth, Aboleth

1) Is there enogh in that for an entire AP? Seems more like a module to me.

2) Serpent's Skull

3) Yup that sounds cool to me.

4) Thornkeep? Also Shattered Star is basically all dungeon all the time. I would hate to see a megadungeon, I'm dungeoned out... Some dwarf stuff might be good though...

Another advance the timeline AP, like Jade Regent. This time, many crusaders come home from a mostly successful crusade and are dissatisfied with the current regime and how it treats them. Could be Cheliax vs. Thrune (thereby allowing it to assume both Wrath of the Righteous and Council of Thieves happened), Taldor or Taldor vs. Qadira, Molthune gets ambitious for new territory, elves want to kill Treerazor, folks want to bring law and order to Galt (while the primarily Good crusaders stay on cleanup in old Sarkoris), anybody wants to pick a fight with Rahadoum, ditto vs. Razmiran, I'd be up for pretty much whatever on this theme.

An AP that took place in Taldor and had the PCs work with the current regime to revive the Empire would be pretty f*$+ing neat.

It would also completely change the political climate of the Inner Sea in a way far more noticeable than if Taldor just, say, experienced a revolution that had it evolve into yet another progressive, accepting nation.

It's not quite what you're looking for (since it's not set in Golarion or by Paizo or part of an Adventure Path), but Ironwall Gap Must Hold may help scratch this itch...
