I imagine many of your customers appreciate being shown random cheesecake, but it’s not terribly professional or respectful to your female customers. I do hope you had something less exploitive of women for your female customers.
Oh, I just love it when people are offended on behalf of others. I love it when men tell me what women might find offensive. I love it when people without kids tell me what kids shouldn't be allowed to see. I also love it how d7 lumps all female customers together as if they all think alike -- the way he thinks they should.

I have a sneaking suspition that Lilith loves the Seoni art as much as any of the rest of us.

Shush, Vic. His whole argument is predicated on his ability to speak for women gamers as an homogenous group. No fair speaking of individual women.

No Seoni here either, and I always check the spam before I delete it. Guess I've been bad :(
Well, that or impatient. But I won't be near my computer after 3 pm or so today for an entire week, so it's kinda important! So what are the rest of us missing?
Hmm. I know I got several copies.... (I have a lot of paizo accounts for testing.)
It's possible that Gary started the mailing and it failed midway through the process after he left... in which case he'll restart it on Monday.
Anybody who didn't get it yet will be able to see what the fuss is about on the front page of paizo.com after 7 PM PST tonight.

Hey, if she's a CEO, she's really a guy, anyway, because everyone knows women aren't made to lead companies. They're just for child bearing and rearing, making food, keeping the house clean, and looking decorative.
Wait, I think I've got my prejudices mixed up. Am I for respecting women as fully capable people or against? This LE stuff is too difficult for me.

First, thank you for the discount.
Second, aarg! on the unfortunate timing. It landed in my mailbox one day after I placed a large order, and I don't think I'll be placing another order in January. Aarg.
Third, does Seoni have two left feet?
Next year, I'd like to see Erzen as Santa, and maybe Mersiel as one of Santa's elves.

I don’t think his motives are all that altruistic – guys like him take that kind of stance so they can earn brownie points and look like they are sensitive.
It is all about maximising your chances with the opposite gender. It is manipulative paternalistic and patronising all in one.
I notice that none of those that commented on his page had viewed picture.

Oh well. Do these folks have nothing else to get enraged about? If you look long enough at anything, you surely will find something you don´t like everywhere.
Thanks for the discount, the holiday wishes and the picture. Don´t be bothered by comments like that overmuch.

I am a woman gamer. And I do not feel offended by the image. It's funny, I liked it.
Merry Christmas to all!
Ditto! I was very upset when I thought I'd missed out, till I realised I'd just scrolled past the email.
I guess part of it is frequenting this messageboards, I mean "More Seoni fan-service!" is virtually a meme, so it kind of comes across as a joke...

I can see where a new first-time subscriber might get put off, especially if they know nothing about Seoni and her significance to Pathfinder.
There are a lot of standard ways to make a product line seem hip, in with the times, and sharing its subject matter with a wink. There are also many ways to take one thing and blow it out of proportion.
Last year, we got goblins and a song. This year, I just wondered who the artist was.

jeje. This has been evil :p
Really, guys, do not be obsessed with these things. There is a chasm (Is this is the right word?) between discrimination or insult and just a funny picture. Enjoy it simply.

about the only problem i have with fantasy female art is i rarely see a natural looking woman. they are almost always busty and unnaturally perky, to the point of looking like they've been enhanced. Paizo at least is not as guilty of this as most other publishers, though Seoni is an example of such. That being said, my players male and female, gay and straight like Seoni very much. Paizo, and even WOTC are hardly the biggest "perpetrators" in this. They don't call it "whorewear" in WOW without a reason :)
If this is the biggest complaint someone has against Paizo, then i think they are doing a dang good job and shrug it off. Or, send his account a hulking half orc in a thong....

Fraust |

*shrugs* I'm just sick of seeing Seoni plastered all over everything. The discount is appreciated, and the picture is nice to look at, but for Pazuzu's sake, the elf girl with the knives makes the human chick with the skimpy outfit look like the dwarf with the crossbows back end...In my humble opinion of course...
Either way, thanks Paizo, and please, email that twit back and tell him to shove his self rightous opinions along with the soap box where it belongs...

Could be Marcel Duchamp. Regardless of who drew it, I like it and don't find it offensive. And I look forward to applying my 10% discount to as many books and dice and shirts and DVDs and board games as possible.
Merry Seonimas!

Wow, nice.
Tarren, you don't seem that self important. ;)
So much for "I'm here to listen as much as talk."
I started to respond to that crap, but I'm not giving that guy my email address.
D7, if you're reading this, that Tarren Dei dig was a really classy move. I'm so looking forward to not returning to your blog to see if you have anything to say.

hehehe. I've made a friend. Oh well.
At the very least, the guy could link to the pic in question so that his readers could judge for themselves.

I'm planning on using it to buy a physical copy of the PF Campaign Setting hardcover. I've got the pdf, but not the same as a hardcopy, and it'll increase my chance to hooking my current group into a game after my current (on hiatus) 3e Planescape campaign is finished.

Third, does Seoni have two left feet?
Hey, come on, so she can't dance, don't hold that against her. Not with all the things you could... >:D
Honestly, as it was said earlier, this d7 guy is just trying to get gullible ladies to sit there and do that thing where they click their tounges softly as they say "Awwww", then go all doe-eyed(here's a tip, show them a picture of a puppy, it works just as well and its much simpler). This is actually one of the more ham-handed attempts I've seen. He's trying way too hard.
On the off-chance he is actually offended by this, what the hell is he doing on the internet? Half the ads you see are something along the lines of "SEX! Now that we have you're attention, please take a look at our fine line of quality baby products.", so he should be railing against that. Not a company who decided "Hey, our customers like this character, lets alter her costume to look like Santa's and replace her staff with a candy cane, then give the picture to our customers for Christmas!"
Seriously, guy, use that grey matter and think a little bit before you rant about cheesecake.
And finally, to be fair, while I appreciate the pic you guys here at Paizo made for us, maybe next time, you might include a male in a seperate picture, if for no other reason than to cut people like d7 off at the pass. Don't take that as anything other than unsolicited advice, for what that's worth, however.

Heh. Like many on here, I don't see what all the hubbub is about.
Here is Matt Dixon's website. The artist is actually showing some restraint with this Seoni pic. The man obviously likes boobs.
Anyway, the coloring is very good, but the picture didn't quite work for me because of a few minor technical issues. If Mr. Dixon reads this I hope he takes the following as critique rather than insult. The two right feet have already been mentioned, but what really jumped out at me first was the left shoulder. Actually the lack of a left shoulder. At that angle of the torso the only way to hide the shoulder would be to pull the upper arm and left elbow back out of view also. Lastly, Seoni's left boob appears to be much larger than her right boob. While it's common for busty women to be somewhat uneven, this is probably not the case with Seoni. ;)
