I am sad to say my friend passed away thus sat. So I guess you guys can just close down his account.

A friend of mine passed away last Saturday. His name was a Michael Satran. He was a game designer (wrote a bunch of modules for Hero System) and even got a book published(Hellbow Rune). He was a great GM and a great friend. He had a passion for gaming that match my own and the writing skills to pursue his passions.

About a month ago on Thursday I was gaming with him....than that Sat he was in the hospital with what would be a brain tumor. It was all around bad news. It just happened so quick. Part of me is still can not believe it.

As I think what he meant to me I felt the need to share it with people...anyway...

I met him around twenty years ago in the basement of Game Masters in Fairlawn, NJ. I joined his 2nd ed D&D game. Over the years we went from 2nd ed to 3rd...than 3.5 than to Pathfinder...with playing a little Shadowrun, Rifts and his true passion Champions. The stories we told together will stay with me for the rest of my life...he made me a better player and a better GM.

But it is as a friend that he meant the most to me. He was generous and supportive. Anytime I needed help he would give it to me...he covers the cost of dinner or a movie without any hesitation if somebody was short. Almost every night we would talk over IM...about games....sometime a little RP...other times about movies or TV shows. Talk about our days and our problems. We would share cat stories.

Most of you do not know this about me but I came out as a Transgendered woman about 9 months ago. He was the second person I told. He was supportive and allowed to have books shipped to his house and would have allowed others thing I might be getting...and provide a safe place for me to express myself. Though I was nervous in coming out to him because I knew he had a very bad experience with a trans person coming on to him very strongly. But I heard through a friend who asked him how he was dealing with it...Mike's response was, 'I have to support her. She is my friend.' I think he grew as a person and buried is past prejudices due to me...which....makes even all the sadder that he is gone.

Rest in Peace Mike...one day we will be together and we can tell awesome stories together and roll some dices.

P.S. I prefer to keep this thread about Mike. If you want to show support or ask questions about the trans stuff you can do so in my thread. Also I am going to set my default name to Selene Spires the alias I have been using over on the LGBT Gamers thread. Life is too short to be not who you are.

Sorry I got to this really late...My Friend is in the hospital with a brain tumor...so I have been busy being there for him.

I hit a few updates tonight but I am running out of gas earlier than I expected to. I will try to post in at least some games tomorrow. If I do not, expect massive updates for Sunday. The good news is that after putting in a some long hours last week, next week I will not have to work late hours any longer and can come home and waste my life away on PbP to the benefit of the rest of you! :-)

Except for next Friday, I am running table top that night. I'd give a hint at what's going to take place but some of my PCs read this so it will have to pass.

The very words that they used to describe the normal "male" Moclans and the very unusual "female" Moclans probably made it very difficult for the non-Moclan characters to see what was really going on. Based on what I saw in the episode, "male" Moclans appear to be hermaphrodites with superficially masculine characteristics while as best I can tell the few "female" Moclans we saw are asexuals with superficially feminine characteristics.

I wonder whether the humans on the Orville might have reacted differently if they were told that the child had been born sexless?

Probably as their point was that the child should determine their gender when they reached a age that they could.

(Also...I figured that the 'egg' was artificial that both parents contribute genetic material to...they self describe as male and female...so there are probably not hermaphrodites)

This movie felt just like a rip off of Stranger Things... ;)

It was a great horror movie...though sometimes I felt the real people were a lot more scarier than It was.

I have to say I really like the show so far. I am not even a big Trek fan...but I like this better. The characters just seem more real to me.

I Blame Cosmo for where my mind first went when I saw the subject of this junk email.

I was aiming for a balanced character. :) ( +2 for Human, put into Dex. +1 Dex for Ace Pilot Theme, +1 Attribute out of initial ten points, for a Dex of 14 (+2). +3 points into each of Str, Con, and Int.)

Piloting +2 Dex, +3 Class Skill, +1 Ace Pilot Theme, +3 Skill Focus: Piloting, +1 Rank.

I'm open to further suggestions, btw.

Pretty nice...I would probably gone with less odd stats myself.

@Kjeldorn: I do not know you that well...but you have my my sympathy as I am going through some stuff this past year...while not depression...can feel like it at times.

Do not worry about not being there for others....you have to help yourself first. And there are a lot of people around here that are very helpful...

If your old medicine is not working anymore have you looked into going to a doctor for maybe a stronger dosage or a different drug? The body does build up a tolerance to drugs all the time.

Not Pathfinder but one of my characters adopted a horse size, fire breathing, flying wolf.

She also created a plant cat for the bases security system.

She has wanted to adopted a large genetically created creature...and a large giant size flying snake...that also breaths fire. But the Party said No... :(

Well to be fair the Transformer movies are not really design to showcase one's acting ability.

PFS is a very small minority of people who play the game...it is a very large mistake for Paizo to cater to them...one that WotC learned with 4th ed.
