I thought it was one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile.
Total bait and switch from the previews/movie posters.
It had virtually no plot, and the thin, disjointed plot that did exist made you feel like the characters were completing levels of a cheesy 80's video game every roughly 15 minutes or so.
It was terrible. This movie is not even worth a rental IMO. I wanted to walk out halfway through, but my girlfriend fell asleep and I didn't want to wake her.
Congrats guys! Looking forward to seeing what you guys pull out in the next few rounds.

I appreciate all the comments, ranging from the good, the bad, and even the ugly.

Thank you for your interest though!
Well done guys.
I really liked the imagery of many of your archetypes.
I've gotten more than a few ideas for characters I'd like to play now.

Wandslinger (Wizard)
The proverbial Mage With No Name, wandslingers are often itinerant loners who prefer to settle their scores in a hail of spellfire. Drawing slender, rune-carved wands from their hip holsters in the blink of an eye, and thereafter riddling their foes with holes and magical burns with deadly accuracy, wandslingers are not to be trifled with. A wandslinger has the following class features.
Class Skills: A wandslinger’s class skills are Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (all except Engineering and Nobility) (Int), Perception (Wis), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), and Survival (Wis). These replace the standard wizard class skills.
Wand-Whip (Ex): A wandslinger may wield any wand as a club, without damaging it. This ability replaces the wizard’s quarterstaff proficiency.
Have Wand, Will Travel (Su): A wandslinger receives a new wand at 1st level at no cost, of any 1st level spell he knows. Because wandslingers are so keenly attuned to wands, a wandslinger may learn all of a wand’s magical properties and the number of charges it contains simply by grasping it and using a full round action to study it. This ability replaces arcane bond.
Double-Barreled (Su): A wandslinger may use two wands, one in each hand, simultaneously. The wands must be designated as primary and off-hand. Each use of the off-hand wand drains two charges. A wandslinger gains the Two-Weapon Fighting feat when wielding two wands. Double ranged attacks are subject to the two weapon fighting rules. This ability replaces the first ability granted by arcane school.
Sharpshooter (Su): A wandslinger adds a bonus equal to ½ his wizard level (minimum +1) to either his attack roll or damage, at his discretion, to a spell cast from his wand. This bonus applies only once to a spell, but can be split between multiple missiles or rays cast from the chosen wand. This damage is of the same type as the wand’s spell. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier. This ability replaces the second ability granted by arcane school.
For a Few Charges More (Su): At 8th level, as a free action, once per round, a wandslinger may apply one metamagic feat he knows to each wand in his hands. Doing so costs an additional number of charges equal to the number of spell levels the metamagic feat would have added to the spell, calculated as if the wandslinger cast that spell without using his wand. This ability replaces the third ability granted by arcane school.
The Quick and the Dead (Ex): At 1st level, a wandslinger gains Quick Draw as a bonus feat. This bonus feat replaces Scribe Scroll.
Aye!
Thomas, let me just start by saying that what you have here has some really strong points. Very creative. I *do* like it.
But . . . and I hate to be the one to ask this, could I politely implore the Paizo community to please refrain from posting homebrew archetypes until after the RPG superstar submissions are due? Could we hold off for just one more day?
Only because if one of the contestants was creating something along these lines, they could very well be criticized for not submitting original work, be left open to accusations of plagiarism, etc.
After 2:00 PST tomorrow though, please have at it!
FWIW guys, you didn't lose anything. Hopefully, you enjoyed the experience, will still enjoy the competition itself, and learned something from it (or will, based upon the feedback threads that will crop up here pretty soon).
Take it from me - try to learn how you can improve, and try again next year.
This was my fourth time entering this contest. I never placed in the previous three years, but I learned something each time.
Keep trying, keep submitting, and it might happen for you too.
And, if you truly enjoyed the creation process, why not try your hand at submitting to Kobold Quarterly, or join an Open Design patron project, and stretch your freelancer muscles a bit?
Simply because you didn't make the Top 32 this year does not in any way reflect upon your creativity, or your potential for writing in this industry.
Just keep at it.

A nice item that just doesn't have wow factor.
Ah, sorry my item doesn't have that "wow" factor for you Daniel. But, hopefully my archetype will win you over.
Great comments everyone, and they are very much appreciated. Obviously, the wording could have been a little clearer. Definitely a point to consider heading into Round 2.
Congrats to everyone.
I can't wait to see what you all come up with for Round 2!
Stockton, California for me.

Imp's Wishbone
Aura moderate necromancy and transmutation; CL 7th
Slot -; Price 10,000 gp; Weight -
Description
Looking like little more than a desiccated wishbone when found, a quick glance reveals only the remnants of charred gristle along the small frame, coupled with the faint stink of sulfur. Closer inspection reveals notched runes on the three points of the wishbone, apparently gnawed into the bone by tiny teeth. An imp’s wishbone is an insidious fetish that allows its possessor to steal a single spell of 3rd level or lower from another spellcaster. If the possessor either dupes the target into breaking the wishbone, or succeeds on a touch attack against the target and breaks the wishbone, the wishbone is triggered. The target must succeed on a DC 17 Will save or else they completely forget how to cast one spell of 3rd level or lower. If the possessor imagines a specific spell when breaking the wishbone, the target forgets that spell. Otherwise, the last spell the target cast is forgotten. This memory loss cannot be dispelled, but it can be restored with a break enchantment, limited wish, miracle, or wish spell.
Upon forgetting the spell, the spell is stolen and stored in the wishbone. If the possessor is a spellcaster of the same type as the target (i.e. arcane or divine), the possessor can prepare the stolen spell as if they had the Spell Mastery feat, add that spell to their spells known list, or spontaneously cast that spell, as appropriate, as long as the wishbone fragment is held. An imp’s wishbone may only store one spell, and it can never be changed.

1) Do you have a familiar? Does it have fur? Spend a few skill points your next level on Craft (Tattoo), shave your familiar, tattoo a few spells on your familiar's skin. When the hair regrows, you'll have your little spellbook with you at all times.
2) Take improved familiar and build a Homunculus. As a construct, the little thing can swallow a few parchments and carry around your copied spells in secret in its stomach, regurgitating them when you need them.

Heh.
The sun begins to wink out.
No supernova, no warning, it just inexplicably begins to grow dimmer and dimmer (like someone slowly turning off the gas to a BBQ) until it all but winks out. No one knows how or why.
Most plants die, including many of the animals that feed on them, causing a catastrophic reaction along the entire food chain. What survives is hardy indeed.
The world is reduced to a barren wasteland shrouded in darkness much of the time with only the stars to see by, or twilight from the sun for a scant few hours a day at best.
People begin to farm all manner of fungi to survive, or become nomadic hunter gatherers. Food is scarce, and people return to a state of brutal barbarism. Cannibalism becomes commonplace.
Fun concept. Basically building a character around magical full plate.
Eventually, you could add some sort of shrink item type permanent enchantment to the armor, so your character can walk around in normal clothes, but put the suit on in an instant.
Remember how Tony in the latest movie kept a spare suit in a suitcase (actually, it was the suitcase), and he could strap it on in a moment's notice? Maybe the D&D equivalent would be to have a magic amulet that transforms into the suit.

The time listed for transit is an estimated window from the postal services. These estimates are given in business days and are estimates only. If your package has not shown up within the estimated window, we would suggest giving it a bit more time to work its way through any delays. We have found that packages are rarely lost, and will usually show up at their destination or be returned back to us.
April's volume has already been shipped, but I will set up a replacement to go out with May. If you receive it in the meantime, please let us know so we can cancel the replacement.
thanks,
Sara Marie I will! Thank you!

A fan.
Have you checked out Kobold Quarterly at all? (You can purchase it here from paizo at their online store, or go to the KQ site.)
It has a fair amount of official Pathfinder content, and a great deal of general PFRPG/3.5 articles that you can add to just about any game.
It's a great mag, and just keeps getting better. I highly recommend you check it out.
I'm at the grocery store recently, quick check aisle, girl in front of me (I only see her from behind) doesn't have enough money to buy whatever it is she's buying.
***It's important to note that I'm not really paying that much attention, and just want to get my stuff and leave.***
The checker has her arms crossed and is being wildly unhelpful.
I see that she's like $1 short, so I flip some money onto the stand and tell her I've got the difference.
I get angry stares from all of the checkers.
....I'm confused.
The girl then turns back to thank me - she is incredibly pregnant....and I just unwittingly purchased her a pack of cigarettes.
Yup.
I'm pretty awesome sometimes.

One of the best Conan conversions I've ever come across:

The conversion is very faithful to the source material, and I think really captures the essence of Conan. (Created some years back for 3.5 though.)

It doesn't appear as if anyone else has mentioned this, but "Avenger" is already the name of a 4e class.
I personally like Inquisitor better, and it keeps the two from being confused.
EDIT: Ah, nighttree noted it.
Tim is absolutely one of my favorite writers in the industry today. And, he's just a great guy to boot.
He and his wife completely define awesome in the RPG field, and can really do no wrong in my book.
I've been *extremely* fortunate to work with Tim on Open Design's Red Eye of Azathoth project. If you're a Call of Cthulhu fan, I highly recommend you check it out.
Other than that, you can find the Connors' amazing work in the pages of Dungeon too - their adventures Siege of the Spider-Eaters and Escape from Meenlock Prison were among the best ever printed, IMHO.

Ah, I think I posted the name of my item back on page 2 - but since everyone else is posting the whole thing, here's mine:
Stitchskin Suit
Aura strong illusion and necromancy; CL 13th
Slot body; Price 50,000 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
Often looking like little more than a wad of bloody bandages when found, a stitchskin suit is actually an intelligent item (Int 13, Wis 13, Cha 13; Ego 10). Made from canvas, each stitchskin has the same alignment as its creator, and will only bond with a new owner if both its creator is dead and it accepts or desires the new owner. Once bonded, a stitchskin seamlessly envelopes its new owner’s body like a second skin, forming a symbiotic relationship. Once so worn, the owner gains 15 temporary hit points, and the stitchskin acts like a living suit of armor. A stitchskin may be healed through use of the mending spell, and each such use heals 1 hit point per caster level. A stitchskin can only be destroyed by reducing it to 0 hit points and then burning it. Further, while wearing a stitchskin, the owner may drastically alter the appearance of their new secondary flesh at will, as per the disguise self spell. Finally, a stitchskin may be commanded once every 24 hours to tear free from its owner for up to 12 hours, whereby the stitchskin is given life through causing its owner 3 points of Constitution damage and may assume any appearance within the bounds allowed by the disguise self spell. In all other ways, the stitchskin acts as its owner’s simulacrum when detached. A detached stitchskin may speak any language known by its owner, but otherwise only communicates with its owner empathically when worn. A stitchskin left detached for more than 12 hours slowly deflates, and may then bond with another owner.

Hey Clark (thanks for doing this again this year) - my item was the Stitchskin Suit.
I'm guessing spells in a can and that it fell into the "spy robot" category might be among the criticisms.
My condolences Adam.

It's not official, but hey, if you want a flumph, there ya go.
:D
Molly, you just plain rule.
I hereby make thee an officer of the GoFY organization.
Paizo's Bestiary II just won't be complete without the Flumph.
So, um . . . the Flumph is going to be in the Bestiary II, right?
Right??
A hydra or any of the nagas would be really cool.
Dragon Issue #280, page 60, had something on fox familiars - they give a +2 bonus to reflex saves.
Of course, bluff (as suggested above) makes sense, or I could see a fox familiar giving a bonus to move silently checks too.

Well, if you're so inclined, I have a gaming suggestion for you -
I'm heading up a patron project for Open Design:
The Red Eye of Azathoth
Very inspired by Lovecraft's work, using the traditional Call of Cthulhu rules, for an anthology that promises to be incredible.

Welcome Brandon, glad to have you aboard.

There is a middling option we have offered - PFRPG rules where the players only use NPCs for characters, to approximate the relative power levels of investigators in CoC gaming.
Regardless of the rules set, there will be mysteries aplenty to solve.
BRP rules are currently in the lead. The poll closes September 23.
