And aims his spell at the Kuo-Toa who just hit Marigold (Red):

Kikinnin takes another bolt to the back, in the place where a slung shield might have helped glance it away. He makes a small promise to take to the stairs and slay some froggos with crossbows.

The black beard presses his attack against Red, not interested in another linking of lightning. "Ay, ay, ay no more of that hand-clasping, you grunts."

JJ steps forward, frustrated by the slimy creatures tough armor.

"No holding hands... go get a room." he snarls, although probably not in an understandable language!

Marigold blinks, bright flashes of light from Maxim's shot still dancing across her vision. She shakes her head and staggers off towards the stairs, wondering if maybe she should do something about the archers shooting at everyone instead of remaining in the way of Kikinnin and the others.

Marigold will double move to try and get upstairs and help Ryan!


Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Entropic shield 20%: 1d100 ⇒ 25
A powerful blast of acid emerges from Juraan's hands, striking in the middle of the kuo-toa chest. The acid splashes all over his body leaving him very badly wounded.

Ryan revolves against the kuo-toa fighting with his mace in a good placed strike on its hip that momentarily knocks away the offending beast while he hits the other one with his shield. This is enough for him to hold to the balcony rail, see the floor too close, but heroically stay stout at place!

Kikinnin steps over the fleeing red and furiously cuts him in two pieces with a glorious strike of his axe.

JJ follows up over the blinded kuo-toa. Despite its lack of sight his skin is overly thick, which in addition to the heavy armor makes JJ's strike to be a vital one. The kuo-toa roars in pain nevertheless.

Marigold moves as fast as she can to try help Ryan.

As he recovers sight, the kuo-toa join his hands and let's a lighting bolt emerge from them. An arc of light jumps from the statue improving the power of the blast that covers JJ, Kikinnin and Juraan!
Electrical damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 5) = 9
Ref DC 16 for half. This is a (Su) rather than (Sp) so no AoO
The lighting bolt is clearly less powerful than the one with the four Whips joined.

Bolts keep coming from up the western balcony. This time only at Kikinnin as JJ is covered by the balcony itself.

Meanwhile, in the second balcony, Ryan continues his struggle against the kuo-toa that try to push him down.

Green Bull rush DC 34 (DMC+bull's strength+rail+damage): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 2 = 23
They hold him strong and place him on the verge of falling, but the cleric is strong and resolved. Ryan hits the soldier trying to push him and leaves it unconscious with a powerful hit on the neck.

Kikinnin sees the frog fighter clasping his own hands, and doesn't give it much thought, figuring it needs to grab another webbed hand, not only its own. He's proven wrong, as the lightning still comes.

"What kind of power gives these vermin support?!" He looks over his shoulder at the statue, and gives thought to the purpose of their infiltration.

Then he remembers, and his anger is flamed again.

He steps up to Orange, stepping over the frog body, and swings again and again.

JJ sees the bolt coming and calls out a quick warning before diving to the side. Still, his hair stands on end and new burns appear where he wasn't quite quick enough.

He steps sideways, trying to get into a flanking position to finish off the heavily armored foe.

Neither of his blows look good enough to get through its armor.

Maxim shot is too fast and the Kuo-toa is able to dodge the bullet.

Marigold quickly jumps up the stairs trying to help Ryan.

Ryan crashes his mace on the remaining soldier in front. Blood splashes in all directions as he breaks the frog-like's skull.

The remaining Whip blocks the terrible might of Kikinnin's axe with his shield.

JJ maneuvers around the kuo-toa and attacks with both his swords, but the well armed Whip blocks them once and again.

Feeling pressed the kuo-toa goes into a full defense strategy while shouting desperately in his language. He then moves up the stairs.

Kikinnin doesn't let an opportunity go by, slashing at the retreating frog man, but he swings too hastily for it to count in the weight of the battle.

Feeling the worse for wear, Kikinnin waves JJ up the stairs first, figuring the boy to be easily more agile than himself, especially with his 'quills' still bleeding from his back. He does take cover from the damnable bolts raining down from above, while healing himself again.

"Go on, JJ, and clear the stairs. I'm getting winded. Aye, Maxim. You might want to get under the balcony, before the frogs start their work on you." The black beard waves his axe near his back, pointing obviously to the pointy bits.

He also sets himself up against the wall, protecting himself from whatever might still leap at him from the darker corners of the room. Standard Action- Total Defense

JJ stabs at the Whip as he heads up the stairs, drawing blood at last.

Then, he quickly follows, stabbing as he moves.

It's hard to tell if the blow lands, as the creatures slimy skin masks the blood.

Grimacing as the trident catches his arm, Ryan retorts
"Not so nice when you're on the receiving end huh?" before swinging once more at the trident wielding frog man.

Continuing to huff and puff, Marigold makes it up the stairs and spots Ryan battling with one of the creatures as well as two others across the way firing bolts down on her friends below.

"ರಯಾನ್! ಹೋಲ್ಡ್ ಆನ್!"

"Ryan! Hold on!"

Double-move again, which I think finally gets her up the stairs and in a position to help Ryan!


Iron Gods: Iron maps;

The kuo-toa scapes Kikinnin's axe, but not JJ's sword. The young man opens a deep gash on the humonoid's left leg as he climbs up the stairs.

While Kikinnin let's JJ up, his wounds heal by the mystery of his celestial bond. JJ's attack is not enough this time and results deflected by the kuo-toa armor.

Up in the balconies, Ryan stamps his mace on the soldier in front. His strong arm knocks down the soldier who, unconscious, loses the grip of the balcony rail and falls down to the temple floor breaking himself in a splash of bones and dead meat.

Marigold pufs as she reaches the first balcony.

Maxim and Juraan do something heroic.

The Whip fighting with JJ, very damaged retreats with effort from the stairs, while trying to cry for help.

The kuo-toa crossbowmen grumble as they see their targets hide below the balconies. They look at the two remaining targets below and shot at both.

Not wanting to waste any time celebrating, Juraan races up the stairs and gets just past Marigold.

Juraan then tries to shoot one of the Kuo-Toa on their level (Orange, map 3)

Startled to see a lone kuo-toa on the opposite side as she reaches the first balcony, Marigold draws her crossbow and attempts to fire before continuing towards the next set of stairs!

Damage: Pistol (+Arcane Strike+Prayer/Half Damage due to Flare Cartridge): 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3 = 3 Damage + Pink Kuo-Toa is Blinded (successful DC 15 Fort reduces this to Dazzled and all creatures within a 20-foot burst are Dazzled for 1 round (again Fort DC 15 negates the effect).

The gun-mage then moves to the foot of the stairs, holstering his pistol as he goes. (20ft Move + Free Action).

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Juraan avoids some of the lighting bolt damage while he races up the stairs.

Maxim shots at the snippers but they are too far and his aim misses.

Juraan shots at the snippers and his arrow strikes true at the first kuo-toa head's front. The kuo-toa shrieks in terrible pain.

Marigold's prayer wears off. The halfling also shots her crossbow, and her bolt also finds the same kuo-toa as Juraan, now with two bolts at his head's front.

JJ moves up and attacks, but the Whip is ready and blocks the sword with his shield.

Maxim follows up after JJ.

The kuo-toa observes man and dwarf persecuting him and dashes back into the stairs trying to defend at his best.
JJ has an AoO but the kuo-toa is at total defense

The snippers shot fire back at the group bowmen, Juraan and Marigold.

I am not sure I understood properly. Are you perhaps casting fly? There is two different gaps between Ryan and the remaining kuo-toas, each 15' jumps

Juraan and Marigold shot at the kuo-toa in the stairs, who despite his numerous wounds, uses his shield in a defensive way to a good result, blocking both bolts after JJ's attack.

The kuo-toa stays at place, fighting defensively.

Meanwhile the soldiers shot back at Marigold and Juraan.

If the frog-foe gets to benefit from soft cover on the stairs from a railing or somesuch, Kikinnin politely accepts JJ's offer of moving to the base of the stairs before he swings on it. Otherwise, he maintains his current position, and lets fly.

Juraan dashes up the stairs, past Marigold to the top most level, to be able to be at level with the two kuo-toas with bows.

With another burst of speed, Marigold finally manages to reach the top of the structure and spots Ryan and Juraan squaring off with the last two kuo-toa across the way. She takes aim at one of them with her crossbow and fires...

...but doesn't quite manage to hit her target.

Ryan casts a spell, his feet suddenly start to float and the cleric darts on a fly all over the gigantic room, clashing with the kuo-toas there.

Maxim exchanges weapons again, readying his pistol.

JJ unleashes multiple attacks, but the kuo-toa makes a good job of covering with his shield any spot not already protected by his armor or magic.

Kikinnin takes place when JJ steps back. The dwarven axe is blocked by the kuo-toa shield, but it doesn't matter, Kikinnin strikes with all his strength and the shield splits in two parts taking by surprise the kuo-toa behind. The axe continues his way unhindered, striking true in the frog-like skull. The sigh of pain and death, quickly followed by the sigh of final victory of the Cauldronites.

The flying Ryan waves his mace against the kuo-toa just in front, but it is well armored and the hit is deflected.

Juraan and Marigold move over the last balcony, the halfling landing a shot on the wall behind the remaining kuo-toa soldiers.

Run out of bolts, the kuo-toa soldiers drop their crossbows and move over Ryan, readying their tridents to attack him!

Now that the Watchers outnumbered the snippers up top, the black beard can see a rest coming up shortly, and he heartens.

JJ tries to charge but he discovers it is rather much more difficult than he thought stairs up.

Kikinnin moves up into a menacing place for the kuo-toa. Still his head just at the height of their feet.

Maxim looks around with interest and arcs an eyebrow while looking at the statue.

Maxim:

It is almost unperceptive, but you do observe a shimmering light accumulating in a large plate at the feet of the statue, just on your level.
