Thomas of the Blue Blade |
With a battle cry Thomas' tattoos start glowing and his blade starts burning with a silver fire. He throws it in an arc at the Charnel Lord, aiming for the fell beast's neck.
Swift: activate Judgement for +1 on damage rolls
Standard: throw mindblade
Move: manifest another
attack roll: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
confirm crit: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (16) + 33 = 49
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
crit damage: 1d8 + 5 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 12 = 24
Mundarion |
On seeing these events take place Mundarion utters some incredibly bad words in Elvish. Those characters who have delicate sensibilities may consider themselves shocked.
Mundarion then turns to Nightwing and says, "Take flight and watch the rear." Nightwing flies off to find a good vantage point he can do that from.
Mundarion slings his bow behind his back and then says to Midio, "Midio, teleport me over there." As he says that he points to the spot on the wall where he had seen the lever.
Yes, that leaves Mundarion without a ready weapon, but he's going to need a hand free to play with the lever and his best defense against a bunch of rats is casting, assuming ASF doesn't bite him.
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
Upon hearing Mundarion utter these words, De'Arv'Ki laughs and adds a few new words and insults to the mix, many directed towards guards and knights for their focus.
Gemheart |
The half-metal-and-stone giant of a man landed on his feet with unexpected grace in the s++* pit.
boots of the cat means i land on my feet and falling damage is always minimized for me and DR 2/- means i didnt take damage.
Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
The Charnel Lord lets out a roar of pain as Thomas's Mind Blade strikes it in a gland, seriously wounding it!
With a cry of pain, the creature's magical aura seems to dim, while its some of its wounds close:
healing: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11
Glaring vicously at Thomas, it seems unable to reach him to enact revense. But then it releases an ball of electric shock on the group...
Everyone takes electric damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) = 16
DC 11 reflex save for half.
At that moment, the magical glow surrounding the creature fades completely, so it resembles an ordinary otyugh. It still seems somewhat wounded, and probably lacks further methods of recovery.
Back above the pit, the rats swarm around Thomas
swarm damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 DC 16 fortitude save to resist their disease, a separate DC 16 fortitude save to avoid being nauseated.
Thomas of the Blue Blade |
As the Carnel Lord heals
Oh come ON
As a ball of lightning launches towards Thomas
reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
For the love of the goddess, this guy is nuts!
Fort save 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Fort save 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME RNG!
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Can we get a repost of the initiative list/actions awaiting/already enacted?
Yessai grimaces as her body is wracked by the electrical pulse that twists out of the pit, turning her body against the wall at the last moment to ameliorate her suffering. She likewise screams some chiice epithets in Gith.
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
Will presume that Thomas does not want a weapon...
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 20 = 32
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 20 + 5 = 37
If crit:
If not crit:
De'Arv'Ki twist through the air as she falls, landing on her feet at the bottom of the pit (And taking no damage, love the acro :)), then proceeds to swing at the beast, striking it in the back.
So does my attack happen now then?
CLimb out of pit: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Midiotoziggeroto |
In elvish
Haha, that's funny Mundarion! Afterwards I'll have to ask you what some of those meant..
I keep wanting to say Murder Man :p
Some of us are rather spread out, I know I am behind it, De and Gem are in the pit with it, and Mundo and Vass are on the opposite (our original) side, we still all take the hit right?
So, my real question... go offensive, save Thomas or port Mundo to the switch :S
Ref Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Midiotoziggeroto mentally shrugs as his mind wards off the blow.
Paying 4pp to nulify the damage.
Mundarion |
Depends on how bad off Thomas is, how long the guys in the pit can hold out, and how long before the trap cycles again. I think that if we can stop the trap from cycling with the Charnel Lord stuck in the pit that everything else can be handled. If nothing else I can try to color spray the rats the turn after I work the switch. The spell will hit Thomas but should not affect him too badly (stunned for one round). The rats will be out of commission for several rounds though which should enable us to kill most if not all of them. But if the trap keeps spinning and coughing up then hiding CL from us I'm not sure how it will all work out.
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
Well, i can tell you, if goes against us, i'm grabbing midio and running... not worth dying over. Also, @mudarion, you have gravity bow in your spell book right? EDIT:Thinking of becoming a magic crafter and making wonderous items, and some bracers of gravity bow are high on my list of items to make
Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
De'Arv'Ki sinks her blade into the otyugh, piercing just far enough for her poison slips into the wound.
fortitude save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Midio and and Yessai still need to declare actions.
Also note that currently no one is standing on the disconnected section of the floor, they are all on either side or in the pit.
Midiotoziggeroto |
Ok. I could blast at the thing for 4d10 damage but Midioto is a teleporter at heart, sooo...
Hold on there Thomas! I'll get you out of there! Just need to calculate distance, tradectory and spacial coordinates aaand... POP! POP! POP!
Midioto seems to shift sideways a bit while Thomas appears in his old spot, sickened, nauseated and a little disorentated.
3pp dimentional swap on thomas and me then I teleport back near my original position and as close to the lever I can, hopefully quickly enough to avoid the rats ;)
Feeling disorentated yet Thomas?
Thomas of the Blue Blade |
The combination of the mass teleportation and rat wounds in addition to the smell of the place causes Thomas to lean against the wall and vomit. Not a very noble pose for our shining crusader.
Midiotoziggeroto |
lol thanks De XD
And man! I can only teleport you guys so fast >.> next up is Mundo and the lever...
If you do go crafter, (only if) then ;I would love a pair of Gloves of Reconosance! Doors would become a thing of the past XD
Mundarion |
I didn't plan on making him a crafter. Regardless, the way I set up his feat chains as he advances the earliest I could work that in would be character level 10, Rogue 5/Wizard 5. By which time everybody would probably be screaming for magic arms and armor. But Arcane Strike, most definitely Arcane Armor Training, and either Deadly Aim or Focused Shot are must haves for this build and have to take priority.
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
Should be able to do that for you, provided Mundarion has the spell... scratch that, should be able to take the +5DC penalty for the missing requirement. 1000gp to make, so 4 days as the adventurers fight... after i've made that, i intend to make a 1-charge/day bracer of gravity bow for myself, will help with my damage output
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
sorry for the confusion, meant to say I'm thinking of becoming a crafter, skill monkey and whatnot. will take me until 7th level (5th lvl - master craftsman, 7th lvl - craft wonderous items)
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Sorry, had exam yesterday...
Quickly wiping spittle from her face, Yess concentrates suddenly, and her oversized bastard word ripples with wicked looking curves and teeth like edges. She strikes again at the Charnel Lord, but the electrical damage she sustained keeps her aim strike from connecting….
Swift Action: Expend 1 point from Terror Pool for Inimica.
Inimica: Blood Zone: The direlock’s dire weapon forms jagged edges, wicked spikes or heavy flanges - creatures struck by the dire weapon suffer bleeding 1 hp (even if they leave the dire zone). A successful Fortitude save negates this effect.
Standard Action: Attack.
Szhacque!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 7 [BAB, +1 Str, +1 Mwk, -2 Large]
Sforff: 2d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 + 2 = 15 [+1 Str, +2 Terror Pool]
Missed again with MAX damage. /sadface.[/dice]
[ooc]Terror Pool Points remaining - 3.
1 round remains of Terror pool damage bonus.
Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Actually I can't count. Max would be two 8's. Oh well, still sad face.
Also, should have specified Move Action to approach edge of pit and (miss with) stab.
Midiotoziggeroto |
So thomas and Mundo is up next? And Mundo is delaying his action till after mine and thomas is nauseated, so after that is the Charnel lord and rats? Right?
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
for whenever my next action happens, this should surfice, barring any special circumstances...
Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
Thomas shifts away from the rats.
Mundarion waits, ready for Midio to move him.
The rats cannot reach the others without crossing the trapped region, and they seem to be aware that it is trapped, waiting on the other side of the pit.
The Charnel Lord full attacks Gemheart and De:
bite De'arv'ki: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 DC 14 fortitude to resist a disease
Tentacle Gemheart: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
And misses wildly...
Tentacle De'Arv'Ki: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
And misses wildly again!
De'Arv'Ki becomes invisible and flanks the Charnel Lord.
Midio psychoports Mundarion next to the lever.
Anyone who examines it sees a lock attached. They can also see, upon examination
The lock on the lever can be broken with a DC 25 disable device check.
Mundarion |
Perception check to see if lock is trapped: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Disable Device Check to examine lock: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
And the fickle random number generator laughs at me.
Given that Mundarion feels pressed for time he's going to go ahead and try to open the lock.
Disable Device Check to open lock: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
So it looks like Mundarion gets to play with the lock again next round. :-(
De'arv'ki Paddfoot |
also, now that i see that this creature can kill me on a hit and a 5 or high on a d8, i'm getting the hell out...
The creature's teeth sink into De'Arv'Ki, Who with a yowl, turns invisible, yelling to Midio "Small-hunterrrr, I need yourrrr help!"
Midiotoziggeroto |
So Midioto just teleported Mundo over to the switch and is now in Mundos old location (ill figure out where the heck i am in a minute>.>). Ill get you in a second there De :)
Hang on a sec De, im coming! Ill get you out of there real quick, just got to figure out my coordinates, carry the Y, allow for temportal drift.... DONT RUSH ME, THIS IS MORE COMPLICATED THAN IT LOOKS!!
well im burning through PP at a rather alarming rate...
Ok. Figured out where i am at. I am on our original side, near the door and apparently right next to the rats.... >_>
uh oh.
Midiotoziggeroto |

Vassekh-Arokh Yessai |
Perturbed by the massing rats, and hoping against hope they don't find a way to bring their likely diseased fangs near her or her companions Yessai sees the crude monstrosity bite into Dee, and redoubles her efforts, knowing the fell enchantment on her weapon is about to run out... She misses. Again. This time spectacularly, jarring the blade into the stone edge of the pit just near her feet, causing a small splinter of stone to fly up and cut her cheek, barely missing her eye.
Standard Action: Attack.
Schirr!: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 5 [BAB, +1 Str, +1 Mwk, -2 Large]
