Not that it really has any impact at this point, I added Valeria's appearance to her alias. Wanted to get that out of the way, just in case she gets voted in. And no, I still couldn't find an image that fit my mental picture of her.

I like Kingmaker... a lot, but I'm playing a swashbuckler/Rogue in your other KM game and you might consider that double dipping.
If it's still okay to try, is there any particular classes or niches you feel the group lacks?
I would enjoy Kingmaker, and don't mind at all to jump in between books.

Ridge here. I went with Vrek Greyborn, a half orc fighter... and ex Brigand himself. Personality wise he fancies himself a pragmatist, and he's definitely rough around the edges.
I can adjust the backstory/history to fit in better if need be.
And I only went with 1st level's wealth because I didn't know how much you wanted him to start with as a 4th leveler. Obviously this means I'll upgrade his gear if he has more starting resources.

History: I don't recall too much of my childhood. I'm pretty sure my human mother died among the orcs she birthed me from. I was smarter than some of my peers, but weaker too. Naturally they made my life hell.
Hoo ray for heroes. A group of Adventurers came upon the tribe, killed our chief, and almost all of our warriors worth having. Stupid little savage that I was, I grabbed a spear, and charged their fighter, a genuine Rostland Swordlord. I imagine you can figure out how that went down. Actually, to his credit, not only did he let me live (He was too honorable to kill a child with human blood) he dragged me to Brevoy, and chucked me into an orphanage. He was a hero, but if I thought he was going to be raising me, I was fooling myself.
Let me explain something, I was a savage. The poor folks running the orphanage had no idea how to handle me, the other kids were scared or disdainful of me. It was damn lonely, so I played stupid kid games.. mostly that I was a mighty warrior. Sometimes I was a mighty swordlord like the one who had spared me. Just as often, I was a mighty Orcish warchief who showed no mercy. Even made my own armor out of scrap.
Fun times.
I grew fast, got big fast, and the next thing I knew I was acting as a porter lugging things around for my 'betters'...which was everybody. One of my employers used to beat me regularly because, well, he could. Kick a dog long enough...
I beat the man within an inch of his life. Oh, I was no warrior, but neither was he. As his blood spilled out on the floor, I gathered up his coins and goods, more than I'd ever held before, and ran.
If he had been an orc, and I a human, no doubt I would be able to call myself an adventurer for beating him and taking his stuff.. Instead, I found myself given a new title...: Brigand.
Heh.
I did not so much fall into a bad crowd as leap into their arms! Where else was I going to go? Finally I got real training in the ways of violence. I grew bigger, badder...orc bloods age fast. Yet, believe it or not, those bandits, thugs, and low lives were my first real family. My first real friends. We didn't rape. We didn't kill children or women (Unless the women fought). We always gave our victims a chance to surrender, and we patted ourselves on the backs as if that made us really swell guys.
Then the Stag Lord came calling. Turns out he expected all the bandits to kneel to him. Most who didn't, found themselves forced to. A few fought. Myself included.
We were slaughtered, well, except yours truly. Once more a survivor, I found myself back in Brevoy. Guess enough time had passed that no one knew me from any other half orc. I heard of a group being assembled to go into the stolen lands. This, I thought, would be my chance of payback.
Only, now ...the Staglord is dead.
And I ain't got no idea what I'm doing now.
Personality: Vrek should be a monster. True, half orcs aren't as treated as badly in Brevoy as they are some other lands, but the memories that loom largest for Vrek are those of bullying, cruelty, and outright slaughter. Yet there were those moments of kindness, or at least compassion that sometimes cause him to wonder. To him, it seems the difference between brigand and adventurer is rather slim. The line between conqueror and killer is often blurred. Vrek is neither stupid, nor smart, wise, nor foolish, but he thinks more than he lets on.
Vrek is neutral, but it's not a desire for balance, rather it's a form of clinging to the only thing he knows. Himself and those he calls friends or at least cohorts. The rest can go hang.
Or can they? Vrek hasn't spent much time with good hearted folks, and should he grow to know their ways, he might consider becoming a better person himself. If nothing else because he doesn't want to be a monster, and hovering just over it it sure as hell isn't making him happy.
Should Vrek find a cause and home he truly grows to care for, heaven help the fool who threatens it.
I have a middle-aged (not sure how you deal with age penalties as a DM--some just ignore them and say to leave it as flavor) Human Fighter who I used to play through all of book 1 of KM a couple years ago. He's a grizzled veteran who was a bodyguard and kind of no-nonsense teacher/trainer of our young, well-intentioned nobleman leader.
I'd like to update him to maybe the Drill Sergeant Archetype and submit him, if you're still looking for people. What's your deadline? I loved book 1 and I've always wanted to continue the AP.
