Same here. I know being sick is no fun. Hope it's nothing serious. It is flu season.

GM Zed |

I just returned to work and there's a ton of stuff piled up... I'll do my best to keep up but posts may be a little spotty- bot me if necessary.
Yeah, no worries... As we are deep into RP'ing our way around Magnimar, there probably won't be much in the way of opportunity for me to GMPC Teldon along (not so easy out of combat and, in any case, the Aspis Consortium storyline is kinda Teldon's to lead) so we'll probably just be a little slower through the Bronze House part of our tale.

GM Zed |

Trying to push the rest of us along a little bit. Sorry for the sluggish posts on my end; have been working a lot lately and sometimes I wind up too tired to post much of significance. I'm actually starting to think I need to drop a few games but the question of which ones is a tough one ;_;
I feel your pain... although I'm about to grasp the nettle with launching another recruitment thread... Madness I tell you... Madness!!!

GM Zed |

Congratulations to Joanna upon reaching, and going past, 1000 posts… as per the GM’s reward to Teldon and Briana for reaching the same point, Joanna receives a Blessing of Iomedae:
Just Ally (sp)Once, when you become unconscious, you can – as an immediate action - summon a shield archon. The shield archon teleports to Joanna’s location and immediately teleports Joanna a position outside of any threatened area... Joanna will also be immediately healed to nil HP and regains consciousness. The shield archon will fight as an ally to Joanna and her companions until it dies or until the combat is over – after which it returns to its home in heaven.

Joanna Whitehall |

Thank you! I'm really happy to hit 1000 posts with Joanna and I recently topped 16,000 total. :)
Also, I hope you don't mind me drawing out this bit with Lady Heidmarch. I'm enjoying the chance to develop Joanna a little more, and I have one more question to ask, but figured it'd be better to hold it for the next exchange.

Joanna Whitehall |

Thanks, both of you. As for the Vigilante idea, it definitely is intriguing.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

I don't normally plug these things, but there is a Humble Bundle of Pathfinder products, sponsored by Frog God Games, Kobold Press, and Green Ronin. $417 of digital books can be yours for a minimum $15 donation. It includes Rappan Athuk, Freeport: City of Adventure, Deep Magic, and a bunch of other books that are all well-worth their cover prices.
I already owned about 10 of the titles in the bundle, but I bought it anyway!

GM Zed |

Definitely in for that... I already have the Advanced Bestiary (a great book and the first Kickstarter I supported) but there are so many other great bits there... Deep Magic looks fun... Rappan Athuk is obviously a classic... and then who could resist Richard Pett's Whispering Homonculus? And its for charity as well...

Ziomarra Callinovo |

I already had Against Tsathogga, Zobeck Gazetteer, Streets of Zobeck, Your Whispering Homonculus, Dead Man's Chest, and Deep Magic. I also had the 3.5 version of Advanced Bestiary but didn't think it was quite worth it to buy the PF conversion.
I'd been eyeing Freeport: City of Adventure for quite a while, and had decided to buy it at the normal cover price ($29.99) with my gaming allowance next month. Now, I have it for $15... plus a whole bunch of other great stuff!

Joanna Whitehall |

Seeing as I don't own any of those. I just got away with highway robbery. :D
Thanks for pointing that out Zee.
And for all the lego fans out there.
Sadly, I just spent my fun money on the other bundle. Ah well.

GM Zed |

FYI, Lady Midnight's Travelling Faire will be drawing quite a lot of it's inspiration from This Fine Little Supplement.
...and obviously it's named in tribute of our dearly departed Leonard Cohen.

Shadlah Broken-Earth |

This week has been emotionally draining for me. Sorry for the silence, and I'll try to get a post done within a few hours.

Joanna Whitehall |

To those of you in the States, Happy Thanksgiving. To everyone else. Happy Thursday! :)
Sorry to hear about the bad week, Ronnie. I hope things work out for you, and as always, I'll keep you in my prayers.

Stuff like what's happening in Gameplay right now are why this is (and has been) my favorite game on Paizo for some time - admittedly some of it is thanks to the general structure of the AP but I like how our characters actually go out and do other things and have other interests running in the background of the overall AP plot :)

Joanna Whitehall |

Yep, and I am really looking forward to where this goes.
Also kinda surprised Rowenna hasn't said anything about the wolf yet. :D

Thanks, I never quite know what the appropriate balance of following the AP / dungeon delving and doing the 'other stuff' is... but I'm hoping that it is a good mix right now... obviously, when you do sail out to the Lady's Light that's going to put a hold on urban exploration / social type stuff for a while!!! Unless you find the mythical grindylow disco*
..
.
.
* there is no grindylow disco, sorry!!!

Ziomarra Callinovo |

So... Joanna is taking a wolf as her Divine Bond, rather than a warhorse? That's pretty cool! I've never seen a paladin go in that direction before!

GM Zed |

Thanks for bearing with me whilst I am weaving Joanna's companion into the story (I think the game we are playing would be dealt a bit of a disservice if it were merely, 'Ding' you are Level 5... a wolf appears!!!' We are just about to hit the action part of the event... and then, it's tidy up your business in Magnimar and on with Shattered Star proper!!!!

Teldon Moore |

Paladins are actually probably the one exception to that* but I'm still enjoying the process.
* "once per day, as a full-round action, a paladin may magically call her mount to her side" so she could have dinged and just summoned the companion Iomedae had granted her

Joanna Whitehall |

Yep, I'm fine with how things have gone, and as funny as it would have been to have woken up with Halli right there beside Joanna, I really am enjoying this interlude.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

GM Zed |

Would it be possible for Joanna to lead Brianna through the crowd by grabbing her hand and holding on tightly? Also, can you refresh my memory on how to navigate two places in a round? That was what I was attempting last round and I seem to have gotten it wrong.
I suspect I am over-simplifying the chase rules by just giving options as to what you need to pass a single point... and making it a rather blunt 'pass / fail' for that turn - I think the official rules are on the PRD if you want to review and go for passing multiple stages, (happy for you to utilise them if you can work them out!!!)

Teldon Moore |

Does that go for all of us? I'm good at skills... maybe I'll learn the rules so I can move faster? and possibly find the answer to my question about aiding others

Joanna Whitehall |

Here's the rules for moving more than one card.
A character who wants to attempt to move three cards during his turn can do so by taking a full-round action. That character must overcome both obstacles on the card he is leaving. In this case, if a character fails either obstacle check by 5 or less, he only moves one card forward and his turn ends. If a character fails either obstacle check by more than 5, he cannot move at all that turn. A character unfortunate enough to fail two obstacle checks in a turn becomes mired in his current square (he might have fallen from a ledge, gotten a foot stuck amid roots, or got caught in a crowd, for example). A character who is mired must spend another full-round action becoming unmired and effectively loses his next turn in the chase. In some cases, becoming mired might impart additional penalties (such as falling damage).
So, Joanna wouldn't have moved at all anyway, but she isn't mired.
So, if I want to move more than one card, Joanna has to pass both checks on the current card. If she does, then she manages to move three cards. Using the example found in the PRD she's at the first card. If she passes both checks, she's at the fourth card.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Just a heads up, I'm spinning up a sandbox game with some heavy Skyrim flavor. If you want to check it out, just mosey on over here and see if it's up your alley.

Briana Kaddren |
So is everyone good to act now? Probably a dumb question but you only mentioned Teldon and Joanna for Stage 3 so I just wanted to check first :)
*edit* Forgot to acknowledge it earlier but thanks for the invite to apply to the game, Joanna! Alas, I've discovered that I don't do sandboxes super well but it does look like an interesting setting and I might just peek in on the game from time to time once you get rolling :)

Thanks for picking up my error!!! I'd have been sat here wondering why no-one was posting!!!
...and also, am following your recruitment Adam... looks intriguing and I will follow the game as well - however I really am at my hard maximum on games right now!!!

Thanks for the invite, but since I joined Zed's "Bloody Jack" campaign, I think I'm at my PbP limit.

Teldon Moore |

Yeah... I've been thinking about applying to Jo's sandbox (I love vikings, and skyrim), but I have an idea for another unique RotRL game that I really want to run so I'm probably not going to.
On a (mostly) unrelated note, I also love living in western New York. We've had nearly 36 inches (about 90 cm) of snow since Thursday afternoon and nothing has been canceled or even postponed.

Joanna Whitehall |

No one down here know how to drive on ice or in snow. That's why things get cancelled. And holy! That's a lot of snow!
And I'd love it if any of you guys applied. I'm excited about it and I've been workign on a few things.
Also, there's a paucity of martial and skill types so far, and you'll have at least until the 28th to apply.

Joanna Whitehall |

Do eeet! You know you want to! :D
In all seriousness, for all of the posts having been made, there's been less than ten submissions beyond the "Oooo! this looks interesting!" *DOT!* ones. I've also been working on a casting tradition, and I've got to say, mad props to those that come up with d100 random tables because I'm starting to run out of ideas and I've got another 35 entries.

Briana Kaddren |
My enthusiasm for snow dropped somewhat once I became an adult and realized that when you're an adult the world doesn't stop for snow. I also second the 'people around here can't drive in the snow' sentiment.
And I love me some Skyrim shenanigans but I really can't; I'm saving my Blight character for Zed's next game but otherwise I've been good and avoided the Recruitment forum. Not to mention the more I PbP the less headway I make on my backlog of console/PC games...

Joanna Whitehall |

I live in Alabama. We see snow once every five years, maybe, so yeah, the joke about three snowflakes shutting down the state isn't too far off.
I'd love to have ya, Briana, but I understand (and not in the passive-aggressive sarcastic way) about not wanting to overstretch yourself.
