It's okay, because I couldn't resist Joanna not getting this until it gets really awkward.

Teldon Moore |

This has been really funny, I especially like accidentally identifying who she really is because I'm acting like I think she's a prostitute. And "Zee facepalms" was my favorite 2 words in this whole game so far.

Joanna Whitehall |

Joanna's virtue is not negotiable. ;)

Teldon Moore |

The funniest part actually is that it's like 3am for our GM right now, lol- he's gonna wake up in like 5 or 6 hours and get to read that entire exchange all at once...

Nalathi Estrid |

This is hilarious! It's like a police procedural starring the Three Stooges...
I was pretty much thinking the same thing :-). Poor Teldon had an actual plan, which quickly unraveled. I love it!

GM Zed |

That was a pretty cool thing to wake up to...to be fair to poor Teldon, he was never going to get very far was he?
"I don't need to endure this shrill attempt to usurp my rightful priority," he announces indignantly, "I shall hire a prostitute from another establishment." With that he turns and storms out.
...absolutely hilarious.
...so, now that the server is back up and running...is anyone getting anything from the 'Great Golem Sale'? I must admit, I am considering buying the Harrowing for a few dollars...entirely due to the fun we are having here with Ziomarra's cool readings...

Ziomarra Callinovo |

I bought two Paizo board games at 90% off: Stonehenge for $5, and Key Largo for $3. I tried to buy the hardcover of the Shackled City AP for $15, but it sold out between when I added it to my shopping cart and tried to check out. I also bought a bunch of 3.5 modules for $1 each. And I hadn't noticed The Harrowing on the list: I may have to add it!

Joanna Whitehall |

As much as I'd like to get something, I normally get PDFs, and those tend not to go on sale as much.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Yeah, I usually prefer the PDFs. Actually, I picked up a few print copies of modules I already own on PDF for $1 each.
Paizo mentioned on their Facebook page that a PDF sale is forthcoming.
One other game I bought was the amazing Cheapass Games, "Before I Kill You, Mr. Bond" for $2. (Actually, it's now officially named "The Great Unnamed Spy Game" after a lawsuit from EON Films.)

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Teldon returns to the main street and attempts to hide himself in order to observe anyone who might come slinking out of the oyster.
stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
I'm imagining him standing in a large flowerpot very still, while holding a couple of branches over his face...

Briana Kaddren |
I'm imagining him standing in a large flowerpot very still, while holding a couple of branches over his face...
Hilarious mental picture!
As far as the sale goes, I don't know if I'll buy anything or not. I don't GM so the modules and such wouldn't be very useful to me, but I might try to find something for my brother or husband for Christmas.

Nalathi Estrid |

Yea I don't think I'll be getting anything either. But in a few months a friend of mine is gonna start taking us through Second Darkness, so I made sure to tell him all the books are only $5 each right now.

Teldon Moore |

hey guys, i apologize but i have a crazy day tomorrow and probably won't be able to post at all until at least late afternoon/early evening (eastern US time)... if you want to move the story along before then feel free to have me quietly follow along :)
i guess that's really 'today' for our GM, i think its like 6am there now

Nalathi Estrid |

Yea I was on my phone for most of yesterday so I couldn't really use it.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Ziomarra wrote:EDIT: As Han Solo once said, *ZAP! ZAP!* "That was a boring conversation anyway... Luke! We're gonna have company!"hahaha, I literally LOLed at my computer seeing the 3 bluff check and subsequent comment.
The old Star Wars RPG by West End Games used that scene as an example of a failed Bluff check...
On an unrelated note: I'm going out of town this weekend. We're leaving after work on Friday and coming back on Monday. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post while in away.
Zed; please GMPC my character as needed while I'm away.

Teldon Moore |

I'll also be out of town this weekend but I think I should be able to keep up via phone posts...
Zee, would you like to try Intimidate or are we actually going straight for 'Zap, Zap'? I'm ready for 'Zap, Zap' I just wasn't positive that everyone was cool with that if these are really only petty smugglers?
However we're going to deal with them its definitely in our best interest to do it quickly so we're not stuck fighting in between them and whoever is waiting in the bar.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Multiple things are figuratively on fire at work today, and I have an event in my personal life tonight. I most likely won't have time to get in a post until after 10:00 PM (EDT) tonight.
Don't have time to even read the gameplay thread right now.
Feel free to move things along as needed.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Hi, folks.
I wanted to let you know that in a few hours, I'm going out of town for the holiday weekend. I'll be back home Monday night some time.
I'm not going to bring my laptop with me. I will try to get in a post or two via my smartphone as time and network connectivity permit.

Briana Kaddren |
I like cool little additions to games like The Shield and Sheepdog. My mind is failing me because I wanted to make up a place Briana had been staying at but all I could think of is my RL group where our DM's comment of "Okay you're at max hit points" turned into a running joke about staying at Max Hitpoints whenever we're looking for an inn.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Sorry for hogging the spotlight in the Gameplay thread.
I've had the week off, and intended to do a whole lot of work in my yard-- which desperately needs it. Unfortunately, it's been raining hard all day for the past two days, so I've been at my computer working on gaming stuff.
Today, I've been procrastinating writing next week's adventure for my Monday night "Champions of Old Korvosa" game, and concentrating on my PbPs instead.
I'll back off now, and hopefully let others get in a few words.

Briana Kaddren |
No worries, it makes sense since Zee knows the most about the Sczarni and these other groups that we might be tangling with. Briana is very much not a leader-type anyway, so she'll probably always be content to follow Zee or Joanna or whoever assumes a leadership role (though not necessarily unquestioningly). Right now there's not much for her to add in the gameplay thread until Kasedi tells us what she knows (if anything) about Natalya.

Joanna Whitehall |

No worries. I think it'd be pretty cool to have Zee and Joanna tag team prisoners and informants, although it's probably going to be less Good Cop, Bad Cop and more Scylla and Charybdis knowing Joanna and Zee's personalities. ^^;

Teldon Moore |

I'm glad some of my role playing decisions are showing through (like how he fixates on things).... It is (I think) kind of a challenge to play someone with such a high Int and such a low Cha- I kind of took some inspiration from mild forms of autism and so far (IMO) it seems to be going pretty well. I'm always open to suggestions though if anyone has feedback on his development.
On a related note, I'm not sure it was clear at all but Teldon wasn't purposefully threatening Kadasei... ooc I knew it would probably be taken that way but ic he was observing the crowd's desire for answers and failing to recognize the number of complaints that would arise from such large scale interrogation.

GM Zed |

I think Kasadei took it as Teldon threatening to go out and give further ammunition to those who think the Watch aren't doing enough about the disappearances...and had a vision of apothecaries / alchemists being ransacked / falsely accused, etc. As GM, I certainly didn't take it that he was threatening anything...
I think everyone has really developed great personalities for their characters...hopefully the situations I've thrown you in to have helped you with that... I reckon we're about 50% AP as written and 50% 'free style'...and quite a lot of that 'free style' has been led by you.

GM Zed |

It's quite funny that Briana is talking about the rain potentially leading to flooding and a need to learn to row... I had, at one point, had an idea of reimagine Magnimar such that the 'Shore' was in fact canals...so you'd still have the 'well to do' folk up on dry land at the top of the Seacleft....and then you'd have decayed version of Venice below...

GM Zed |

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Just to help with your visualisation of the city...and the extant of your investigation so far...I dug up this cool image of Magnimar and pointed out the landmarks.
That's the painting of Magnimar from the gazetteer in Pathfinder#2: The Skinsaw Murders, where the city was first introduced in 2007.

Nalathi Estrid |

I've been super busy this week. I'll try posting tonight if I'm able, but no promises.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Zed: I can't tell from the map where the doors are. Could you note them somehow?
Also, where does the guy who yells at us to leave come from?

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Hi, folks. I'm traveling again this weekend. (Visiting the in-laws in Brooklyn.) I only brought my phone with me, and I probably won't have much time for posting.

Joanna Whitehall |

Just a heads up, Birthday's Monday and I'm celebrating with family this weekend, also busy doing stuff around the house.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Happy birthday!
Today, I finally met my twin nephews! My wife's brother and his wife had twin boys back in July. This was the first time we were able to head down to NYC since they were born.

GM Zed |

Hope the birthday was a bunch of fun...
....and then Paizo decided to drop the Occult Playtest in as well...fun times...am going to download it tomorrow...am a lot more hopeful for this one than for how the ACG turned out...I loved the idea of the ACG / focused hybrid classes but something doesn't quite 'spark' with me...I think (a) the well documented production values thing but also, and I know this is a bit petty, I kinda don't like the Iconics they've introduced!!!)...doesn't mean I don't love your shamans / swashbucklers Briana / Nalathi!!!
