Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Tanith is all about the hiking. He's going to bring walking weights and everything.
I think we're going to get the journey started.

We could also book space on a raft. Can't remember if that's faster or not.
But yeah, Astraden's good with walking. The question is if Mr. Cityslicker MacTeague here is going to make us stop every other hour for second breakfast.
Of course not. Second breakfast only happens once per day. Other meals can include brunch, teatime, mid-day snack, etc...
Actually, I am kind of tempted to play up Eben's... non-rural nature by buying a horse anyhow and just trotting alongside the party at 20 feet per round...

Kobold Catgirl |

Ffff...yeah, I'm not gonna make excuses. Sorry about the delay here. I want to do the Free City some justice, and that leads to me putting it off until I have time, and then suddenly there's been a whole day without any meaningful action.
I have to start walking to class in, like, a few minutes ago. I'll start writing the post the moment I get home. It's time to get this road on the show.

Kobold Catgirl |

Stuck the map under "General Linkage" on the Campaign Info tab, by the way.
I am very glad I bought a few issues ahead to take advantage of Paizo's recent sale. Dungeon #128 has a lovely article all about some parts of the Free City—I actually think this stuff would make a spectacular adventure in its own right. If fortune permits, that may be what we do during the post-third installment intermission.

DankeSean, I Googled it.
Three days (by coach) northwest of Diamond Lake, the Cairn Hills Trail enters a region of steep crags pocked with natural caverns. Five of these caverns lead to an interconnected series of gnome villages called Grossettgrottell. The gnomes of Grossettgrottell specialise in rare gems rescued from the subterranean depths, but each of the five villages focuses on a different trade or specialisation. All told, some 800 rock gnomes call the place home, though about a quarter as many “expatriates” live in Greyhawk itself or in the mining towns surrounding it. Able gnome wardens and gem-encrusted constructs stand vigil over the surface entrances to each community, and nongnome visitors are subject to the legendary gnome suspicion.

Kobold Catgirl |

I was just looking through the timeline for the Adventure Path, and I noticed the time gap between Diamond Lake being founded and Balabar Smenk's arrival in town. This got me wondering--would Astraden have been born before he ever arrived?
By the way, I wouldn't rely too heavily on that Player's Guide for stuff about Greyhawk. There's a lot of stuff there that appears to be based on the creator's own game (or perhaps the Living Greyhawk campaign). For instance, the player's guide there claims that Tenser made a big comeback. That hasn't actually happened in this instance of Greyhawk. As far as anyone knows, he was killed for good.
Immediate Tasks
Carina/Tanith: Visit the temple of Kord
Cuetzpalli: Go shopping.
Eben and Astraden: Go to the Blueberry Theater.
Farrukh: Shopping/pending a list of attractions.
Does this look alright to you guys?

Astraden Limhaare |

Astraden will also keep an eye out for any building sites (and her brother Rillikandren).

Alright, that's it. I've finished what I'm considering the Age of Worms Player's Guide, Volume 1.5.
The Free City is a thriving metropolis, and describing its many locales would take all day. As such, particular focus will be placed upon just one neighborhood. Assume a DC 15 Knowledge (local) or Diplomacy check can turn up any of the information below while you're in the area.
Midnight's Muddle
This neighborhood, a portion of the Foreign Quarter, consists of a few dozen buildings. It is an older part of the Free City, in which the houses and hovels sag and lean, and stone surfaces are weathered smooth like gravestones marking forgotten souls. Above the streets, towering chimneystacks rise high above rat-infested shingles, and ravens call into the perpetual twilight of the cavernous alleys beneath. The locals call this corner of the city Midnight’s Muddle.
The southeastern face of Midnight’s Muddle faces the Free City’s Low Market, a large square that hosts crowded daily markets that draw customers and entertainers from throughout the city’s less affluent districts. If there’s anything you seek that can’t be found for sale in Midnight’s Muddle, chances are that you can probably find it for sale somewhere in the Low Market.
Kordian Temple (intact): Up in the northern portion of the Foreign Quarter, this temple should have priests powerful enough to help Carina. Not in Midnight's Muddle.
(12) Ruined Kordian Shrine: This shrine was once the spiritual center of the neighborhood. Now it is nothing but a charred shell.
(20) Shrine of the Weeping Woman: This shrine is owned by a tall, thin man named Forwell Hog. He worships an obscure aspect of Kord called the Weeping Lass, one of Kord's lesser servitors and the patron of once-mighty warriors who have lost their strength to age, sickness, or sorcery. He has several devoted followers in the neighborhood—all elderly souls who have lost children in recent wars, but were unable to fight themselves.
(38) Shrine to Obad-Hai: This little shrine is maintained by a quiet druid girl named Anlathi Merilain. With the Kordian shrine gone, this young elf's grove is now the only functional place of worship in Midnight’s Muddle, and many inhabitants in recent weeks have turned to her for religious guidance.
(5) Murdo's Pantry: Murdo is an astonishingly fat dwarf who makes very expensive—but very tasty—pastries and cakes.
(9) Two-Boy Theatre: Run by a pair of young half-orc brothers, this Olidammara-friendly theatre puts on plays, using silhouette puppets and their own acting skills in religious miracle stories.
(3) Mobber's Tasty Vegetables: Owned by a dwarf who grows strange but delicious plants with the help of a friendly druid.
(18) Marik's Buns: Marik and her six children run this bakery with love and devotion. Marik has a friendly rivalry with Murdo.
(10) Shortstone Wines: A former church of St. Cuthbert that fell on hard times. Now run by a tall dapper gnome who wants to convert the place into a warehouse to import and export fine wines.
(28) The Two-Necked Swan: The roughest ale-house in Midnight’s Muddle is run by Tudge and Ruck, bald half-orc brothers who won the bar in a bet. Aside from being a den of gamblers, lowlifes, and cheap prostitutes, the tavern has a fighting pit in the basement.
(37) Web’s Rooftop Dragonchess Parlor: A very snobby parlor to play dragonchess in. Without an invitation, the only way to get in is to either win Web over or offer a very hefty bribe.
(2) The Crooked House: One of the larger buildings in the neighborhood, the Crooked House is just that, a bit off tilt. Its walls are all at odd angles and the windows and doors aren’t quite squared. Despite this, the tavern and inn is in good repair. Room is 6 sp per night, including a small breakfast.
The Blueberry Theater: Lodging is 6 sp per night, not including refreshments. Not in Midnight's Muddle, though not far, either.
(19) Horatio Rib’s Everything: Exactly as stated, this aged gnome claims his cramped shop sells one of everything.
(21-22) Meply’s Alchemical Curatives/Din Danly’s Alchemical Curatives
As the names somewhat imply, these shops both sell alchemical supplies, potions, poisons, and some one-shot magical items. Meply is a short, balding human, while Din has a great bushy beard and an outstanding head of red hair—his pride and joy. These two shop owners live next door and utterly despise each other, to the point that some locals worry one of them is going to attempt to murder the other one of these days.
(16) Tattoo Parlor: Run by a big friendly man named Jharan Hubris. It's said that some of his tattoos possess potent magic.
(4) Crowmar’s Magnificent Lantern Emporium: Crowmar, a Diamond Lake native, is a skilled craftsman when it comes to all things shiny. However, he has an oddly poor local reputation. Those who dislike him refuse to explain why, instead advising the questioner to go to Crowmar and “ask him about the damn beetles”.
(7) A Tinge of Vellum: A good place to buy high-quality writing materials, as long as you're willing to put up with the shrill spinster who runs the place.
(8) Moxitled’s Alchemical Wares: Moxitled is rarely seen, but his sons manage this high-quality alchemist's store.
(28) Souf’s Paraphernalia: Souf, a lizardfolk merchant, is somewhat of a local oddity. So are his wares.
(27) Zud’s Towering Armory: Zud, a halfling, sells all manner of armor and weapons. He sorely hates lizardfolk, especially the one living next door to him.
(36) Ph’xeris the Miracle: Some say Ph’xeris caught some disease of the mind. Others, including him, say he once caught a glimpse of a place called “the Far Realm”. He's a skilled craftsman, and one of the best creators of magic items in the entire city. He is, however, really quite insane.
(25) The Boat: A shop that sells all manner of furnishings, carpets, statues, and other goods for dressing up a home.
(6) Ret's Taxidermy: Owned by a halfling named Ret who stuffs monsters. Exactly what it says on the sign.
(1) Tarquin's Manor: Here dwells a wealthy gnome obsessed with color. He's known to be quite hospitable, though he keeps seven well-trained but fearsome hounds that tend to scare off most visitors.
(13) Burnt Hovel: Right next to the ruined shrine. Exactly what the name implies. Now a shelter for vagrants. Area 14 is equally ruined, though no vagrants go there: They say the place is haunted.
(15) Mistress Crump’s Hovel: The home of a chinless, toothless hag with such a penchant for profanity that she is incapable of uttering a sentence without betraying a paucity in her vocabulary by swearing.
(23) Yalexex’s Abode: The eccentric painter who lives here is known to choose his subjects seemingly at random—most of his portraits are of average people he met on the street who possessed some hidden aspect that intrigued him. He's a brilliant painter, but refuses to believe it.
(11) Wake’s Construction: This is just a warehouse. Astraden's brother is apprenticed to Wake.

Carina Viera |

Yeah... wish I could experience that more often!

Carina Viera |

So, halvsies on the restoration spell again?

Dungeon Kobold |

By the way, Cuetzpalli, just to be clear: You can commission a suit of barding from just about any smith. It'll take a while, of course, but there's no major barrier there. I've been assuming you wanted to avoid the wait by finding someone who was already selling that sort of thing.
I apologize if I was unclear about this. Regardless, this suit goes for 45 gp.

Astraden Limhaare |

It's not masterwork, is it?

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

I'd say Kord is pretty solidly anti-armor.
Coincidentally, I'd imagine Tanith looks a lot like that only hairier.

Carina Viera |

Only because he doesn't NEED it. He looks like his skin could shatter swords without any flexing on his part. :)
Incidentally, I should probably build Carina in Soul Calibur V now...

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

*Investigates some way to get Strength > AC.*
Actually, I think the Godling can do it.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

A PG rating.
Tanith could rock the kilt and winning smile defense if he could get strength to AC.

And I've done Carina's portrait up!
We can just keep using the Paizo avatar for maps & combat & stuff.

Carina Viera |

I just now realized that I COMPLETELY forgot to mark Carina's traveler's outfit on my character sheet.
Pretty much since the campaign began.
I feel like a right moron now, even though I just fixed it. xD

Kobold Catgirl |

Sorry, Rynjin, I just realized I've stuck you in the awkward situation of not being able to do anything but wait.
We can move along from the Paraphernalia without resolving the current barding issue—Jelani can just tell us when he gets back whether he bought it or not.
Where do you want to go?

Cuetzpalli |

Okay, finally got back from my trip. I'll be working on catching up on things over the next day or two. Lots of posts to read (~_~) Sorry for the lack of posts lately guys, thanks for bearing with me.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Maybe we'll run into him. =P
Tanith's going to have to drastically step up his training regime.

Well, this way we'll both have guns! XD

Carina Viera |

I didn't know Farrukh wanted to dip into Gunslinger as well...
Or does he want to just be an Amateur Gunslinger?

Rynjin |

I might actually dip it later. I've been considering dropping out of Slayer after 7th, at least for a while. Might take a level or few of Inquisitor, actually.
I didn't think of that until after I did the church thing but I love the class. And it meshes well with Slayer, mechanics and flavor-wise.

Carina Viera |

So, you're planning on taking the Black Powder Inquisition in that case then?
Also, KC, if I wanted to build a revolver, would I be able to do so with enough time and resources?
