If you want to use Vomit Swarm (and for the record, EFFING GROOOOOOSSSS) you may want to delay 'til after moi, to give you a clearer shot...so I'll post my action now!!
ROUND 2
Ali concentrates for a second, imbuing her sword with magical power. Then she makes a swift arcane gesture and utterance, slapping her palm on the crosspiece. The sword then glows blue, with the air around it seeming to freeze as rime coats the blade. She then takes a swing at Blue.
Use Arcane Pool to make sword +1
Use Spell Strike to cast Chill Touch through sword
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (6) = 12 <--Fort save DC 14 or take 1 pt Str damage
IF this takes him down, move to where I indicated on map. If it does not, please move me back in front of Davosh
Edward W.Fell |
So Sargent, just how do you think your troops are doing in retrieving the Peska's and my friends? Did you see their faces when they realized their orders were unjust and just cruel. I bet their moral is mostly broken. All you have is fear, and fear only leads when there is supervision. Why do you hate yourself so Sargent? Were you abused or bullied as a child, or were you the bully that has never grown up?
If I get him to draw his weapon and I assume open the door to my cell, I will cast Burning Disarm to hopefully surprise him.
Davosh the Wanderer |
I'll save it and give him the Stink Eye. Will DC 16 or -2 to AC for the next 8 rounds. Save for one.
Kappi Matarito |
Round 2
Bleeding from a small wound Kappi leaps into melee with the black guard.

threatening critical! 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

The young lad remembers Vojtek and Ali's sword lessons as his point finds it's mark and he steps into it driving the blade deep into the guard's bowels, twisting visciously and yanking the blade back out.
RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
If black is dead, attack blue. If black lives, attack black.
Round the Second
Vojtek sees nothing but blackness as his rage overwhelms him. He lashes out with his Greatsword faster than any might have expected.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 10 - 1 = 16 for 2d6 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 11 + 2 = 21 damage.
please note if this is on blue, add +2 for flanking
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
I love how you have 2 character sheets, 1 for raging 1 for non-raging, just like I did for my tabletop barb Morthaad. (he was more of a wrecking ball than Miley Cyrus!!)
oh, blue might be dead as I just smacked him down hard, and Kappi might have just finished black. You may need to choose a differnet color, Vojtek...
RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |
DM - please allow Vojtek to attack a non-dead opponent after the other hits are resolved :)
GM thunderspirit |
I'll save it and give him the Stink Eye. Will DC 16 or -2 to AC for the next 8 rounds. Save for one.
Will save: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Mwahaha!Bleeding from a small wound Kappi leaps into melee with the black guard.
The young lad remembers Vojtek and Ali's sword lessons as his point finds it's mark and he steps into it driving the blade deep into the guard's bowels, twisting visciously and yanking the blade back out.
With a quick stab and a subtle twist of the sword, Kappi spills a second guard's blood onto the snow. Black falls!
Ali concentrates for a second, imbuing her sword with magical power. Then she makes a swift arcane gesture and utterance, slapping her palm on the crosspiece. The sword then glows blue, with the air around it seeming to freeze as rime coats the blade. She then takes a swing at Blue.
Ali's slash damages Blue, then his eyes go wide as the cold energy courses through him. He falls in a crumpled heap atop his fallen comrade!
DM - please allow Vojtek to attack a non-dead opponent after the other hits are resolved :)
Yeah, yeah, whatever, raging barbarian. :-P Now would be a fine time to have Cleave, you know. ;-)
Votjek's greatsword cuts across the torso of Red, opening him up from hip to shoulder. He collapses on the ground!Green, wide-eyed at the demise of his companions, stammers out, Y-you foreigners have brought death upon this village with your actions! even as he five-foot-steps and desperately slashes at Ali with his longsword.

Fear is the tool to power, you buffoon. And I can't say I hate myself as much as I hate you right now! He draws his sword and prepares to thrust it at Edward casts burning disarm (which has a somatic component but what the heck, in this circumstance it's hardly imbalancing), forcing him to drop it. With a curse and a snarl, Sertane whips out his dagger and lunges at the Palacle! That'll be your last mistake, impudent dog!
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
Ali stands there as the power of her magic deflects the feebly aimed blade.
Y-you foreigners have brought death upon this village with your actions!
She grits her teeth in frustration. We haven't DONE anything!! Stand down, drop your weapon, and surrender or be slain where you stand!
She swings her blade to distract the guard, but is too distracted herself to make it count.
Action: Aid Another to give Vojtek +2 to hit
Aid Another vs. AC 10: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 <oh, man FAIL!!
VOJTEK!! Give him a chance to surrender!! If he doesn't...cut him down!
Edward W.Fell |
Man I'm an idiot... I just read back an found out i was schackled....thought I was only just locked up..... oops :0 Lets see what I can do
They both know the Oradin will go for the sword. What Sertane doesn't expect is that Edward wil not even try to feint away from it.
Sertane fear and hate lead to the dark side Edward shakes his head and wonders where that came from.
By the will of Apsu I will bring death upon you activate Smite
He bends down picks up the sword while muttering a few words.
Longsword???: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 3 = 24
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |
Vojtek steps into the gap and wreaks havoc on the nascent surrender. With a visceral yawp and a flash of the blade he hacks with barbaric abandon.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 10 - 1 = 29 for 2d6 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 11 + 2 = 21 damage.
Ooc - Mike what manner of barbarian to you take me for?! Sorry to spoil the plan but I've got to play him as he is.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
Ooc - Mike what manner of barbarian to you take me for?! Sorry to spoil the plan but I've got to play him as he is.
I had low expectations, but thought I'd give it a shot. Meh. I wanted an excuse to go running after Edward...Honestly, it was almost unfair for me to even suggest it!! :-)
RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |
Yoink! Just saw Vojtek threatens! Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 10 - 1 = 23 for 2d6 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 11 + 2 = 19 damage.
Oh and if the DM allows it, could this be a full round action and Vojtek tries out his bite attack?
RETCON: immediately after the blade arcs through it he mans ribcage, Vojtek falls upon him with frothing intensity and bites down into the man's temple, coming away with a ragged scrap of (hit = flesh, miss = hair)!
Bite!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 for 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 damage. <- face-flesh it is hehehe
Davosh the Wanderer |
No he didn't. Round 2 was going to cackle and throw another Stink Eye.
GM thunderspirit |
The party will make short work of the remaining guard at Chez Petska (including Vojtek going all Mike Tyson on one of them).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Edward lunges for the sword and grasps it, albeit awkwardly; he is unaccustomed to the manacles and how they affect his ability to fight. The sergeant is unimpressed, confident that he is faster than a bound foreigner. Sertane is quick, true; but Edward is quicker. The Oradin calls down the fury of Apsu and it sees the blade strike home!
Sertane is evil, so please calculate the smite damage. Oh, and a 19 threatens a crit...just sayin'. ;-)
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
The party will make short work of the remaining guard at Chez Petska (including Vojtek going all Mike Tyson on one of them).
Yum.
Ali takes a quick look around. The captain or sarge or whatever isn't here--and Ed didn't come back either. Quick, no telling what's happening to him there!!
She makes to start running back to the guardhouse, pausing only long enough to insure the rest of her friends are following...
Davosh the Wanderer |
"Round up anything of immediate use. We'll come back for the rest later. we need to find Edward NOW."
GM thunderspirit |
Sertane is surprised by Edward's ability to wield the sword while manacled, and it stung by the smite. But he has now learned a valuable lesson about underestimating his foe.
dagger attack!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 = 25
damage: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Sertane 3
Edward!
No one actually mentioned the White Weasel before, but since Liska went with Edward I will presume you guys can figure things out. It's about 300 feet from the Petska home to the Weasel — five rounds at double movement for 30' movers.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
It's about 300 feet from the Petska home to the Weasel — five rounds at double movement for 30' movers.
Or, 2-3 rounds of running, assuming a straight line is possible!
Edward W.Fell |
Edward finds that swinging the sword is easier than blocking with the sword, and takes the sting of the dagger along his arm.
Edward smiles again at the Sgt. Sertane, your just a lap dog you only bully those that you think are defenseless. You should be embarrased to be cut by your own blade. I still do offer surrender. Trust me it will be your best option of living.
take a 5'step towards putting me between Sertane and the door, or if it makes sense cuz I can't see the map to attack then move to position myself to deny him quick escape
Longsword: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 3 = 23
Damage w/smite: 1d8 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 0 + 2 = 5
Lay on Hands Self: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Swift action
GM thunderspirit |
Yes, he is.
And honestly, you don't see a map for the Weasel cos I haven't put one up. Totally doing this on the fly. :-)
Edward W.Fell |
Or, 2-3 rounds of running, assuming a straight line is possible!
Ty all :D I'm ok with banging these rounds quick if you want. Having to run in a straight line is very humorous to me. I can understand not being able to do 90 degree turns, so I've always house ruled it to be like star ship/flying creature combat where there is a turn radius when running. I also have them loose dex/dodge mods to defense when running. So far has worked out fine. I think the people who run 440m sprints do so pretty quickly and that's not in a straight line. Not to mention the hurdlers.
GM thunderspirit |
Me. Work came up and bit me starting on Wednesday.
I'll get an update done over lunch.
GM thunderspirit |
That's MY lunch, obviously. LOL
Sertane growls at Edward's jibes. Surrender is something you'll be begging for soon enough, you son of a motherless goat! Humans are my favorite enemy, you see — insolent ones especially! You'll learn some respect...as the last thing you ever do!
dagger attack!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19
damage: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Sertane 8
Party: running! I'll say two more rounds.
Edward: up!

Edward W.Fell |
Is that an Varsarian or Taldanian goat? Edward ask in a ridiculous accent.
Longsword: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 3 = 16
damage: 1d8 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 0 + 2 = 7
I grow tired of playing with you Sertane. Your skills are quite meager
lay on hands: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
DM, can I add a Hero point to that if I need it to hit?
GM thunderspirit |
You can. And it needs one.
GM thunderspirit |
Then you hit!
Sertane 15
Sertane's eyes narrow as he glares menacingly at Edward, thrusting with his dagger again.
dagger attack!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 22
damage: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9
He steps away, reaching into his pack and fishing out a small, wooden, round shape, one side of which has a mirror on it. He is curiously silent after so many verbal jabs.
Party: running! One more round, then you arrive!
Edward: up!
Edward W.Fell |
Edward seeing a chance steps up to cut off the escape route of the vain Sgt.
ohhhh looks like he's calling in the calvary or reporting his death. Since they are fond of mirror to mirror communications. Can I see what is in the mirror?
No,no Sertane, now is not the time for reflection. You will answer for your poor choices
Longsword: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 3 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
lay on hands: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
GM thunderspirit |
That roll will need another hero point spent to hit (still at -2 due to the manacles).
GM thunderspirit |
Hit! :-)
Sertane goes total defense and tries to manipulate the small object in his hand!
Party: arrives at end of this round!
Edward: up!
Edward W.Fell |
Edward thinks it worked once, lets try again....
If you don't want this one to happen it's ok to have it fail because of the somantic requirement. Or will there be some kind of check?
Cast Burning Disarm- DC 14 reflex to avoid 1d4 of damage
If needed: 1d20 ⇒ 11
GM thunderspirit |
Well, you stepped up, so it should be a Concentration check to cast it. But then, you can five-foot away. So what the heck, no check of any sort.
Refl save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 or 1d4 ⇒ 2 damage.
GM thunderspirit |
The dagger gets red hot, and Sertane can't quite let it go before it burns him. He curses again, flinging the dagger away, and concentrating on the mirror.
1d100 ⇒ 94
And a wicked smile grows across his face.

ROUND WHATEVER IT IS :-)
Ali bursts into the room, sword in hand. She sees Edvard, manacled and wounded, and the sergeant there, both weapons on the floor, holding a mirror.
She goes to smash it out of his hand (after imbuing her sword with her innate magical abilities)
Disarm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 <--blarg
