Melicertes steps toward the table, loads another bolt in his light crossbow, and squeezes the trigger. "That's right! Who's your daddy, punk?"

Apologies for having to be botted. Apparently this game wasn't showing me updates for a couple of days (and I neglected to check in otherwise).
Ferdrin steps backward over a kobold body to get some distance from the one that's been in his face the whole time.
5' guarded step
He again releases a battery of arcane bolts at multiple kobolds, in hopes of neutralizing their threat quickly.
Cast Magic Missile, spending an arcane reservoir point on Potent Magic to boost to CL3.

Ijo's lash drops yellow to the ground, unconscious.
Melicertes' bolt punches right through the eye of Blue, killing it.
Seeing his fallen comrades, Red throws down his weapons and drops to his knees, pleading in Draconic.
Ferdrin, your choice if you still cast the spell

Yup, looks like it’s unecessary. Retracted.

Melicertes slips into Madame Alcasti's boudoir to see what the bachelorette hid beneath her bed.
Take 20 Perception for 22 or: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Under the bed is an eclectic assortment of everything in the house that was shiny. Coins, trinkets, a set of silverware with a pegasus motif, a pair of gold-rimmed specacles, a snuffbox with a gilded scarab on the lid, and a figurine of an alabaster pegasus with a golden bridle and one broken wing.
The figurine radiates magic.

He turns to Ijo and nods in confirmation.

"Ferdrin, please tell them I will help bury our fallen comrade in arms." Bobbi requests somberly as he tries to help the other fallen kobold.
Heal(Stabilize): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

He turns back towards Bobbi. Is there any chance any of them are barely alive and could be healed?

GM Brunoreturns |

You guys are cracking me up. I love it.
Nodding happily, the kobold begins dragging the dead kobold outside.

"I'm afraid these 'treasures' are the property of our employer, the rightful heir of the deceased. The objects in the estate are not ours to give or yours to seize. If you'd like, we can forward your claim to the authorities, and you can seek arbitration," Melicertes pronounces with an air of litigious condescension.
The aquatic elf shakes his head. Giving away hard-won loot is not my idea of fairplay. It's laughably ludicrous!

![]() |

Ijo shakes his head at the nonsense of reviving the enemies that attacked first. We should just get out of here. If they need reviving they can go to the wand store like the rest of us.

GM Brunoreturns |

When the standing kobold reaches the doorway, he drops the body and darts off into the woods.

Melicertes steps aside and watches the kobold scoot out the door, and then tries to identify the magical properties of the pegasus figurine. "Not sure what we've got here, but I kind of like it."
"Let's take a careful look around this place. Don't want to leave anything important behind."

As Bobbi before him, Melicertes notices the stacks of papers in and around the fireplace, especially the one with the wax seal bearing a pegasus motif.
It reminds him of something that Remaio mentioned.

![]() |

Melicertes scans the papers near the burn barrel, as he helps stuff them in their rucksacks. He looks over the wax seal, then down at the little figurine, and some of the other items they've collected in Old Lady Alcasti's cottage.
"Seems the family's got a thing for the mythical pegasus. Bet there's a story there, eh?" The aquatic elf wags his eyebrows and chuckles. "Yes, let's tag it and bag it, then head back to civilization, please."
He swats at a lazy fly that lands on his sleeve.

GM Brunoreturns |

Melicertes takes a closer look at the paper and notices that the wax seal marches the one on the letter that Remaio gave you at the beginning of the adventure.
Getting Remaio's letter out again, he notices that Remaio said he needed "letters and a diary written by Honoria herself!".
Amongst correspondence, bills, and various books, he then notices a letter signed "Countess Honoria Alcasti".
Realizing this is going to take a while, he calls the rest of the party over.
After an hour of sifting through the papers, the party is able to retrieve a dozen letters and the diary.
END OF ADVENTURE
I honestly considered allowing yu guys to fail this adventure as nobody could remember what Remaio actually sent you for. I had the conversation with Remaio all planned out.

![]() |

I remembered what he sent us for. It's just too easy for characters to lock onto the kobold threat in this scenario, and once they mentioned burning papers Ferdrin was zoned in on that risk.
