Little of nature's power remains for Caleb to channel here, so far from the cold gusts he enjoys. He retreats from the enlarged enemy and slashes once more at the cultist and the demon.

Peat changes tactics and starts swinging. It's some solid hits and under this and all the other pain that cultist drops! The demon looks at the dying man and says, WEAKLING! I will drag you to the abyss myself!
Caleb responds by cutting the man more and cutting the demon as well. It's leaking vile fluids all around.

Thalassa shoots from across the room at the demon. It strikes hard! the demon screams!
Caleb stands his friend back up.
Kazmuk stands up and with all his might swings hard! It's good! the demon doesn't make a noise this time. It tumbles down to the ground and begins to dissipate. It smells of brimstone as the body decomposes into pure essence and leave this realm.
You stand battered, broken, and beaten down, BUT YOU WIN! What do you do next?
| Caleb Squallbane |
"Everyone alive?" Caleb almost laughs. The disappearance of the demon feels almost like a fresh breeze blowing through the room, the acrid stink of the fiend fading away by the moment.
"Now, any prisoners down here?" He calls out.

| Kazmuk Kalingston |
"Well, all's well that ends well then? We beat the demons, we can go home now. I think I'm going to retire from adventuring...I don't quite like dying."
Blueberry Peat
|
Thalassa - I believe I was only down 13 points, so I'm healed up to full after the first healing round.
Peat steers clear of the demon's body, but focuses on searching the cultist's corpse for any clues to how to resolve the problems that are going on here.
GM - If I find any magical items, I will spend the time while Thalassa is healing people to identify them.

You look around the room. The cultist has Horn of Rust (page 60), rusted (broken) breastplate, tarnished silver religious symbol (Xar-Azmak), +1 striking pick, wand of create food, wand of restoration, key to chest in area E2. The zombies are left in their robes.
The biggest issue is the horn of rust. You know that is has strong ties to Xar-Azmak. You could attempt destroy it or sell it. Or even use it....
This is the last place in the horde, so the horror of this cult and fallen god worshipers ends here. You have freed the woman you came with, but you now must tell the ships crew that their captain is dead. the town does not know the horrors that happened here, but you do. Who do you tell what?
Blueberry Peat
|
Peat says, "This was quite a chaotic disaster caused by this man, and with this horn ... It seems tied to Xar-Azmak, and I think should be destroyed. If you will help me, I would like to see this through to the end."
New investigation: How to destroy the horn of rust.
They shake their head. "In the meantime, though, we should tell the community what transpired here. They should know the sort of evil that nearly made its way in their midst ..."
| Thalassa Tempestail |
"Yes, let's get back to the village and tell them what transpired here." Thalassa agrees, repeating what the leshy just said.
"And yes, let us destroy that horn lest anyone evil enough finds it and use it."
Thalassa needs a proper rest after what happened here.
| Kazmuk Kalingston |
"I agree with Peat. Everyone should know about what is happening here. As for the horn, destroy it or bury it at the bottom of the sea."
Kazmuk has had enough of adventuring. His voice is weary and his hands shake with the trauma of the past few days.
GM, do you need us to give you the PFS information for credit?
| Caleb Squallbane |
"I agree, Peat. The artifact should be destroyed, and the town made vigilant," Caleb nods. "This cult is destroyed, but they should guard against such things in the future."
fine_young_misanthrope
|
You think that if you went to a temple and performed a holy ritual, you can destroy this. You will absolutely anger this demon lord, but he already doesn't like you. You can probably do that back home in a local temple far from the corrupted temple here.
Do you want to leave the dungeon? Anything before you head out?
| Thalassa Tempestail |
"Let's get out of this horrible place and destroy that thing somewhere safe. Maybe there is a temple in the village that can do it properly." Thalassa suggests.
fine_young_misanthrope
|
And with that, you all head to the surface. You emerge from the dead gods temple. Your batter, bruised, and beaten, but the world is a little bit safer. The town above you doesn't know what horrors you experienced.
What do you want to tell and to who?
| Kazmuk Kalingston |
"Who was that nice halfling lady who gave us baked goods? Maybe she'd have a drink on hand...and would be open to hearing out our tale. For now, someone needs to hide that horn."
fine_young_misanthrope
|
Off to the bar/inn/shopping center! that nice halfling lady is also where you have the woman you traveled with located. She was taken for a bit, and you went down and saved her. Any objections to bar?
| Thalassa Tempestail |
"How are you? We are here to tell you something important. I hope you don't mind." Thalassa tells the nice lady once they are inside the bar.
fine_young_misanthrope
|
She will follow you as she completely trusts you
| Kazmuk Kalingston |
Kazmuk sits down, asks for a beer and when he gets one, drinks heavily. He drains the mug in one gulp.
"Hokay, you aren't gonna believe this...but they were summoning a demon under where the Gorum temple was. This demon nearly killed all of us and there was this thing they were using to summon the demon which we need to purify, bury and destroy. Preferably as soon as possible. You know any holy clerics around these parts?" Kazmuk's thoughts come out in a stream of consciousness. He's trying to come to terms with what just happened himself.
| Thalassa Tempestail |
Thalassa nods as Kazmuk gives her the details of the story.
"This is an important matter. We need a cleric to cleanse, or perhaps destroy, this thing. We don't want it to fall into the wrong hands."
| Jacen Benedictt |
Thalassa nods as Kazmuk gives her the details of the story.
"This is an important matter. We need a cleric to cleanse, or perhaps destroy, this thing. We don't want it to fall into the wrong hands."
"We could fetch someone from Osprey also: these are our neighbors, we should help them."
Blueberry Peat
|
Peat mutters, "Not sure how useful anyone else in Osprey will be. Last time we said 'we should help our neighbors,' they sent us."
| Caleb Squallbane |
"Well, Peat, we got the job done," Caleb counters. [b]"I could petition Gozreh for help destroying the horn, though who knows what he would do. Perhaps if we clean and scoured the horn, it could be destroyed easily. I know that seems counterproductive, but it is dedicated to the lord of rust.
fine_young_misanthrope
|
The people at the tavern/shop/inn all stare at you. Your elder from Osprey is a bit confused, but she nods in agreement havent seen it first hand. The innkeeper/shopkeeper is quite for a time, then nods. Shes accepting and processing, but its been a bit for her. After a moment, she says, I dont know what's more to be done. You've saved us all, I guess? The clerics were goodish people, but if they have turned, then im glad it is done. Another priest will have to be summoned to cleanse the taint. But, I am glad you are alive and relatively well.
DO you want to tell the sailors about their dead captain?
| Kazmuk Kalingston |
"Eh, it was nothing. We just happen'ed to be 'ere at the right time and place is all." Kazmuk nonchalantly replies.
Kazmuk whispers to the others: "Should we tell the sailors? I'm not very good at breaking bad news gently to people."
| Thalassa Tempestail |
"I think we should tell them, to give them peace of mind, even though it would be heartbreaking." Thalassa suggests.
| Thalassa Tempestail |
Yes, we are going to see the sailors.
fine_young_misanthrope
|
Off you go! What do you want to say and then, we can sunset this next week.
| Kazmuk Kalingston |
Kazmuk approaches the sailors. "Your captain's dead. He was killed by demons...Sorry for your loss." He says awkwardly.
| Jacen Benedictt |
"Those facts aside, just know that we tried our best to save everyone, and that your captain's courage is likely part of the reason our elder still lives. Your grief is pain we share."
Jacen reached out a hand to the First Officer, in solidarity if nothing else.
| Thalassa Tempestail |
Thalassa nods at their words of comfort to them and has nothing to add.
