Étoile marcheuse
|
Twitching of excitement, Étoile starts sharing some information about the magical emanation.
"It seems the storm shares with this debris the same energy that I feel. It seems this environment may be affected by the Wreck of the Returned."
Anæja Edsdóttir
|
"Let's hope no more storms will be conjured here. Kinda dangerous, actually." Anaeja is worried that this debris is spewing energy that affects the surrounding environment. "Let's get a look inside?"
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
The party stays alert while checking out the scene.
Will take BOTH a Nature and a Medicine check.
Anæja Edsdóttir
|
+0 on both skills.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
Whatever these things were Nature to Identify, the creatures were injected with a substance that killed them after a failed or unstable transformation.
You find a pair of broken syringes nearby. If you pass a DC 15 Arcana/Nature/Occultism/Religion check, read the spoiler below.
Whatever was in the syringes was definitely magical.
| The Leader |
Navasi wrinkles her nose.
"So they were some kind of lab rats, I suppose?"
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21.
A glint catches her eye, and she carefully uncovers a pair of broken syringes.
"Guess they weren't doing it under laboratory conditions. Anyone know what might have been in them?"
The GM indicated that a sub-spoiler could be opened with a DC 15 Arcana/Nature/Occultism/Religion check. Sadly, Navasi does not have any of those!
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
Whatever was in the syringes was definitely magical.
Proxy-83959
|
Nature (untrained) to ID the creatures (couple checks ago): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Arcana (trained): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Proxy-83959's eyes glitter for a moment as he gets a faraway look. "It may have had a technological entry point, but it was definitely magic," he announces.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
Eventually you determine the only points of ingress are the breaches at the rear of the debris, which lead down into the earth like slick cave entrances. Once ready, two votes and I'll advance.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
There's one way in, and it's dark. This wreck is in bad shape, real bad. the breach leads you too a room that you can smell before you can see. The air is acrid, enough that you may wretch, and you haven't even entered yet. It's not decay... it's.... something else.
Place yourselves in marching order in the bottom right of the map and declare your exploration activity and how you are providing light (assuming you need it.) I'll reveal the map then.
Anæja Edsdóttir
|
"What is that awful smell?" Anaeja is concerned about what the smell might do to them. She begins hiding behind some cover.
Exploration: Stealth
Rovuur-Ulthool
|
Rovuur similarly keeps to the shadows, wanting to get the drop on any further hostile creatures. Exploration: Avoid Notice
Étoile marcheuse
|
Étoile follows from the back, and keeps a eye on track.
"Do we need light?" asks Étoile as she prepares to cast light.
Exploration Activity: Track (Survival +6)
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
I'm also going to assume the map shows your marching order.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
The party carefully enters the wreak. a toxic spill in the corner of the room fills the air with noxious fumes. the chamber as you enter. Thankfully it's not overwhelming, but you'd have to walk right through it to explore deeper.
Pipsqueak the Ysoki
|
Pipsqueak has darkvision, and is Searching.
"This place smells worse than a shobhad's armpit. I guess we gotta get through it, though, unless someone has a bright idea."
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
"Maybe we can...dilute it? Clear it out, somehow?"
I'd take Crafting, Nature, Piloting, or Thievery to pull this off. (Piloting because you think it's some type of fuel.)
Anæja Edsdóttir
|
"Let me see what I can do..."
Piloting: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Rovuur-Ulthool
|
Rovuur keeps an eye out for trouble as his more skilled allies attempt to safely dispose of the dangerous substance.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
After a bit of thought, Étoile strikes upon a plan. The dirt from the breach has the right feel to it, and simply dumping enough of it on the liquid is enough to reduce it from dangerous to annoying. You are now free to move about the cabin. Which way?
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
This room suffered greatly from the crash, with all its furnishings thrown to the walls and smashed. Originally used to store materials, components, and valuable items, there’s not much left whole. Searching around may yield more to the perceptive...
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
Navasi is confident she's found everything this room has to offer:
Proxy-83959
|
Proxy-83959 looks around to see if anyone else wants one of the commercial batteries. He slowly reaches for it, ready to jump back if someone more deserving or needy claims it instead.
That cellular stimulant is fun if anyone wants it! I'd say makes more sense for a more martial character, but I don't really know SF well enough yet to determine that!
Anæja Edsdóttir
|
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Anaeja looks around to look for more loot that she can find. She follows Navasi if she finds nothing else.
Pipsqueak the Ysoki
|
Pipsqueak whistles as she takes the other ten bullets.
Cellular stimulant is neat, but not as useful to Pipsqueak who mainly does a two-action auto-fire.
"Should we check out this room next?" I can't tell exactly where the door is, but Pipsqueak is happy to go first.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
Tools, raw materials, and pieces of destroyed robots litter the room. This could take a while. Worse, there's a fair bit of oil all over everything, though thankfully it doesn't look too bed.
| GM S - Starfinder 2e |
Navasi steps in.... only to find out too late that the oil isn't simply oil. it coalesces to attack!
Oil: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Default Exploration:
Anæja: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23
Étoile: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 = 25
Pipsqueak: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21
Proxy-83959: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23
Rovuur-Ulthool: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7
Navasi: 6

Oil: TBD
Anæja: TBD
Proxy-83959 (11/17): TBD
