Looks like I got Cyrus'd by Amaranti and didn't notice it. I will keep the ki point, and spend it this round instead Thanks!

Cyrus cackles with glee as he feels the rush of magical speed flow through his veins.

"Leave. My. Friends. ALONE!"

Cyrus steps behind the fiend to make room for Finarin, and hacks away with magically enhanced speed to his strikes.

Cyrus'd by Cyrus!

Wow. Even without inspire courage...

Before any of the other companions can react, Gunari slips the Church Key in between two of Na-Kraka's ribs. The Sea Witch cries out in pain and makes ready to drag the priest into the depths of the waters unleashed by the opening of the gate.

He is too distracted to notice as Kaisharga and Amaranti creep up on him. The eidolon first nips at a tentacle, throwing Na-Kraka of balance. Amaranti comes in next, his lance flashing twice - impossibly fast - punching two enormous matching holes into the cecaelia's chest. Dumbfounded, the creature's mouth murmurs something unintelligible - words of surrender perhaps? - before he falls back, bleeding heavily.

From his side, Cyrus strikes out rapidly and precisely with his oriental blade, spilling Na-Kracka's inky insides all over the ground. The former Sea Witch is now nothing more than a bloody mess upon the chamber floor.

Looks like I forgot about his familiar (it was over the page, wasn't in any of the descriptions, had no stated tactics and was not marked on the map - sighs all around), but one crab really wouldn't have made a difference.

Cyrus:
Since I glossed over this very quickly, you can retro a "I'd like to quickly stare into the book before Gunari closes it" to complete your (and Amaranti's) faction mission.

Filled with a burst of inspiration, Ibid removes the Infernal Incantation from Cyrus's backpack and places its cover against that of the Celestial Song. A brilliant white light, surrounded by black fire erupts from the two tomes before suddenly settling back as though each form of energy suddenly canceled the other out. The tomes sit there, with a heretofore unseen steel binding surrounding them. Unintelligible words of magic written in both celestial and infernal surround the metal ring.

Both tomes remain eerily quiet. The Legions of Hell (and of Heaven) have been held at bay.

Nice work all! Can't believe how quickly this fight went down in the end. Please feel free to post follow-ups. Chronicles will be out soon.

GM Damo:

I did make this post when I forgot I could take 10 on perception...

Back at the beginning of the fight...

Cyrus hears the words of his leaders ringing in his head in the background of the heavenly music erupting from the open book. Not paying attention to what the tentacled sea witch is saying, Cyrus stares intently at it, knowing that people more versed in the divine will be able to get the information they need from his memories. He is snapped from his focus as Gunari slams the book shut.

Yikes! I hope they can get what they need... That didn't even last as long as me with Sheeba...

Scarab Sages PCs:
Oops, I did read that post, but I didn't link it in my head to staring into the pages for the faction mission. My bad!

The words of the Celestial Song are completely unintelligible to the young rogue as he stares directly into something that appears to be brighter than the sun itself. The flashing images and sounds burn themselves into Cyrus's mind just as the light burns his retinas...

Cyrus fortitude save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Cyrus actually comes off blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds!

50% Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 51 -- Still hits the following round, and sneak attack damage was only a little anyway.

The Society is delighted that the group who is rapidly becoming known for getting the job done exactly right has averted a cataclysmic event in Absalom. Given their role in stoping a catastrophe caused by his own hand, Yargos Gill willingly accepts the oversight of the Grand Lodge and provides continued and valued assistance to them in matters of history - and diabolism.

Venture Captains Amara Li and Ollysta Zadrian thank the group personally. "Well done indeed fellow Pathfinders!" Amara says, positively beaming, "Your aid in this matter was outstanding. I have it on authority that your respective faction leaders are also most pleased with your respective performances. Outstanding work all around, and do not doubt that much more will follow! Your unofficial adventuring party is proving to be a most valuable asset to the Society."

"Yes," adds Lady Ollysta, stepping forwards, "Your actions did indeed prove adequate to the task at hand." High praise indeed from the stoic paladin!

Great work guys, and I still can't believe how quickly we got this one done - with me overseas and all! 8 days and just over 100 posts. Astonishing.

I think its the number of posts that blows me away... Though 8 days is definitely up there with the fastest scenario we have played yet...

Miro's eyes widen as he watches his friends completely obliterate the so-called Sea Witch. He shakes his head, as always amazed at their prowess.

Later on, with the Venture Captains, the halfling is his usual smug self, never one to shirk an opportunity to up-play his companions' success. "I couldn't agree more, Venture Captain Li and Zadrian. My companions are so effective, I doubt there is any task you could give us that we could not perform as fair as any group in the Pathfinder Society."

"Truer words have never been spoken, my little eloquent friend. The Drunken Hero watches over us, and through him, we achieve greatness! Why I swear I even saw the Elf Prince smile once during this adventure!"
