I think it was more than just flirting, but I definitely don't think lust fits the bill (at least for my character), Cуровую likes to plot and lying (bluffs) and seduction are but means to an end game.

Jax what spells should we add? I assume we have the spells we had before the campaign began, would you like to look at Ultimate Magic? I think Vanish may have its uses. We already have Shield in the spell book.

Probably a mix of combat and utility. Vanish and Silent Image have their places. I held back on suggesting Vanish because I had it in Jax's book originally. I wasn't sure if maybe the Cardinal would give us something similar to our old spellbooks.

Immediate consequences of signing:

-- You remember how we discussed, way back when, getting a bonus feat? Here it is: everyone who signs gets to select a free teamwork feat. The nature of these feats is such that they work better if several of you pick the same one, so you may want to discuss this in advance.

-- Violating the Pact will cause immediate negative consequences. Attacking another signer with real intent to harm (as opposed to, say, subduing someone who is charmed), betraying another signer to the Talirean authorities, or abandoning another signer to imprisonment or death will cause you to gain the Sickened condition for 10 minutes.

-- Not every PC has to sign. PCs who do not sign will be considered minions. (You'll notice Grumblejack is not there. As far as the Cardinal and Tiadora are concerned, he's your first minion.) Minions are your slaves. You are responsible for their good conduct, but otherwise you can do as you please with them.

-- Everyone who signs will be sent to Pilkington to order up to 300 gp worth of equipment. (Minions don't get this. You're responsible for equipping your minions.) Spellcasters will each get one (1) free spellbook. Additionally, Pilkington will take any treasure that you have and either sell it for you or keep it in an account. Think of this as the First Bank of Asmodeus... as long as you're a member in good standing, you can deposit your gold and treasure, have it invested, buy and sell magic items, what have you. The accounting is meticulous and exact. (The devil is all about the details.)

Here are some thoughts for good Teamwork feats from what I can see.
- Stealth Synergy <-- all use Bref's Stealth
- Paired Opportunists <-- +4 on AoO
- Lookout - very good as long as we tend to move together - allows multiple people to act in the Surprise round as long as one can

I will think about equipment tomorrow - gonna hit the sack early today

There is also Allied Spellcaster (Teamwork). The group could split between the melee types and the spellcasting types...just a thought as well. We have 4 spellcasters, this feat might actually come in handy.

I'll agree with stealth synergy. Allied spellcaster requires you to be adjacent to get any benefit and the real benefit (+1 caster level) also requires us to have the same spells prepped. I doubt anyone will be having 3/4 of their spells as shocking grasp, heh.

The nice thing with Stealth is that we can use Bref's high stealth and while Morsum will not benefit from it, he is the only one who already has a fairly good stealth other than Bref.

It also eliminates the problem of being forced to send one person to scout ahead. Scouting ahead is nice when you have spells to escape, but not so nice for the rogue when they roll badly and get stuck in a spider web. In my last game, the rogue refused to scout after he got knocked unconscious and wrapped up by a couple of spiders.

Reading stealth synergy, its better than letting us use Bref's modifier. It lets us combine all of our modifiers! There is no penetrating that between Bref's class ranks and all of our Dex mods.

By free spellbook, do you mean just the book, or the book + the spells that we would have had in our own spellbooks?

In addition to the 300 gold we receive from the Cardinal:

Items to sell/loot to distribute:
1,116 gold (1000 from chest, 100 from Veil, 4 from guard, 12 from guard)
370 Gp from rare books
75 Gp from 5 nobleman's outfits
Rings from the Warden (don't remember the cost)
Need an ID on sticky, tar-like substance.
315 gp from MW longsword from Blackerly (Edmin uses 2handed weapons, Jax can't finesse a longsword)
Total (considerign 1/2 price for sword and noble outfits: 1681 gold)
That's another 280 gold each (divided by 6, seems only fair to share equally since the new guy isn't starting with any gear either.)

And 2 silver pieces..which Jax will be keeping.

That should be enough for some of us to purchase masterwork weapons and a few healing items.

Edit: We also found an array of miscellaneous weapons that we can sell or share.
For example, Jax has two light crossbows and two daggers so Dren will not have to purchase a crossbow or dagger. The group also found one spell component pouch off of the Warden.

I also really like Lookout. As long as we are adjacent to each other, if one person makes his or her perception and gets to act in the round, then everyone adjacent would also get to act. And if both make their checks, both would get move and standard actions in the surprise round.

I am good with the Stealth if everyone wants that, but with Dren having +11, Morsum at +14 and Bref at +15, our rather large stealth group is nearly invisible anyway. Admittedly it will benefit the clunkers like Edmin, Jax and me.

On another note. I know that we are evil, but I just had Morsum carry Bref several miles through the swamp because of a lack of healing and I know that we are all interested in living. Would each of us chipping in 125gp for a Wand of CLW or a Wand of Infernal Healing be reasonable? We will have to get the approval for the Wand of Infernal Healing, but both Dren and I can use it while the Wand of CLW would require a UMD for me.

I think wands of healing should always come from group expenditure, Jax is definitely in for that.
Wand of Infernal healing can also be used by Cimu, and is best for out of combat healing.

Dren can use the CLW wand as well. Lets take the cost of a wand out of our money from loot. Also we should buy something for Grumblejack, so we can make use of him. Maybe some armor. Nothing big.

I appreciate the willingness to share found equipment. He will take a crossbow and a dagger unless they get claimed by other party members first, Dren should take last pick in anything.

I would just donate Dren's treasure share towards the CLW wand. That way the rest of you have a little more. I didn't earn any of the equipment so just having a few things for my character including a wand of CLW to free up my spells for other uses is helpful.

Yes, get the Ogre armor and a two handed weapon ASAP. It's always good to have a meat shield around.

I would place my vote for Stealth as well out of what we have seen so far. We are the bad guys surrounded by good guys, stealth will be very important and fits in with Dren's approach to life and combat anyways....

I agree, we need to find out what we looted, then buy the wand. What ever is left over, I am good for getting Grumbles some large weapons and armor.

I would think that a scale mail clad ogre with a spear would be more intimidating then the standard barbarian looking one.

Don't forget the difference between CLW and Infernal Healing. CLW is instantaneous, but does 1d8+1 or an average of 5. Infernal Healing is Fast Healing 1 for a minute, so it always heals 10hp, it just does it slower. If we have Dren able to cast CLW in battle that is better.

Also, would Infernal Healing work on me? CLW will not help me with my undead blood.

Vampires have Fast Healing 5, so it appears that Fast Healing is not healing from positive energy.

Note that when you sell captured items (like Blackerly's longsword) you only get half value -- so, 162.5 gp, not 325.

Its rare that it'll come up with him needing both weapons, my vote is for the spear since he'll have crazy reach.

If we: Buy a wand of Infernal Wounds + Large scale mail + large spear that leaves us with: 1,109 gold to split between the party. 184 GP per person if you divide by 6 or 221 GP divided by 5.

Edit: @ DM: I calculated the sword and the noble outfits as sold at 1/2 cost (each sold for X.5 gold so there is no decimal in the final price)

Edit Edit: Dm, did you see the question I asked about the spellbooks? Will they come with the spells that Cimu and Jax had gotten in their starting spellbooks?

eh it is 5 gp for both. Bref will pay for it if needed. I think it is a bad idea to only have a reach weapon

DM, on the Warden were six rings that were taken but no appraise check rolled to see how much they were worth: 1d20+7

Why don't you just take a 10 on the checks? I know it is too late now but when you next level. Or does your 18 not get the DC?

Same thing for the appraise checks...


1) Your new spellbooks will contain your original set of spells. The Cardinal doesn't stint his servants.

2) I believe the Warden had four ordinary rings worth 30 gp each.

3) Note that your new stuff will not arrive for three working days (or five in the case of public holidays or adverse weather conditions).
