Kloss looks like she needs to lose some weight, she just does not shout anorexia quite loud enough.

Wow, all the online pictures of me are pretty dreadful. There's a thumbnail over at my buddy Noel Maurer's blog that isn't actively dire, but in most of them I'm having, to be charitable, bad hair.

To be fair, most of these pictures are of me with my kids, and when I'm with my kids I'm usually pretty distracted. (There are some nice pictures of my kids out there.)

THAT IS ADORABLE! Had no idea you were old enough to be a dad DM.

He's going to be a heartbreaker that one!

Judge, Karlie is actually considered very fit, she's one of the most sought after girls in the industry.

Thanks for the input Gary, Tiadora there looks like a cross between Emma Frost and an Erinyes.

I'll kick that one around my head a little more, most of the girls in magazines I look at don't have that kind of (w)rack Tiadora is sporting.

My one thought was maybe Amber Heard could work as Tiadora, but some people say she and I have similar features so I was trying to steer clear from her as an example.

Yeah, I like the "watching the world burn" illo but the rack seems a bit of overkill.

You like that? Have another. (That's my youngest, "the honey badger".)

Honestly, I think my kids are better looking than I ever was... which is fine; one wants to improve the breed, right? Anyway, I'm old enough to have played First Edition.

An evil campaign shouldn't be just a good campaign with different monsters. You're the bad guys now; your friends are bad guys, and you're doing bad things in order to accomplish horrible evil, ends.

I want to keep this mostly PG-13; as we noted back when, nobody wants to read graphic descriptions of rape, torture and atrocity. (Or if you do, I probably don't want to game with you.) But yeah, sometimes some bad stuff is going to be front and center. Playing Team Evil is different.

Not at all, you help set the mood completely. Nicely (if a bit morbidly) done, no complaints and it help make the dwarf a real horrible monster instead of a bumbling lab coat.

And the dwarf FEARS Tiadora!

No need to tone it down further, your descriptions have always set the game setting and it is appreciated!

Cimu, the spells I was looking at are:

Bear's Endurance
Blood Transcription (+2 bonus)
Bladed Dash
Cat's Grace
Darkness (+2)
Frigid Touch (+2)
Glitterdust
Pyrotechnics
Web

The last three are some of the best control spells for lv 2 spells. Bear's Endurance is good since most people don't ivnest in Con items right away (str or dex first). Blood Transcription is just..cool. Darkness is decent and gets a +2 to learn. Frigid touch is amazing. If you have other suggestions to replace one of those, let me know! (Oh and bladed dash just sounds awesome)

I can get Glitterdust if you want to get something else.

Work on second level spells because we have a lot of first level between our two spell books and the Warden.

I was thinking Invisibility and Mirror Image or Scorching Ray for my next level.

I can see the use of Cat's Grace but Bear's Endurance is not as useful and more situational.

Can I take a day to help research this?

Okay, training time. Two things.

First, each of you now gets a trait. This is a bonus, extra, "training trait". So you should have three traits at the end of this -- your background, your crime trait, and this new one.

Some possible traits include the following:

Sample traits:

"Deception is a tool. Master it." Cardinal Thorn teaches you the subtle arts of deception and how to sense when they are being used against you. You gain a +1 trait bonus to Bluff and Sense Motive.

"Discover what is real and what is illusion." Cardinal Thorn has taught you to see through deceptions and to never lie to yourself. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against illusions.

"Fear nothing save our dread lord." Cardinal Thorn has shown you fear and taught you to master it within yourself. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against fear effects.

"Let us perfect your favorite spell." The Cardinal drills you again and again in the use of one particular spell. Pick one spell. This spell’s effects manifest at +1 caster level.

"Strike first, strike ruthlessly and thus be victorious." The Cardinal has taught you never to shirk or hesitate in a combat. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.

"Wear your armor like a second skin." You are drilled extensively in wearing armor in combat. When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit’s armor check penalty by 1 to a minimum check penalty of 0.

"You shall be my angel slayer." Cardinal Thorn spends exhausting amounts of time teaching you about good celestials, their strengths and weaknesses. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Knowledge (planes) checks
about good-aligned celestials and receive a +1 trait bonus to any damage roll you make against them.

"Magic is power. Power is fear." The Cardinal teaches you to tap your magical energies and convert them into pure terror. As a swift action, you may expend one prepared spell or spell slot to gain a bonus on the next Intimidate check you make, provided the check takes place before the beginning of your next turn. The bonus on this check is equal to the level of the spell consumed.

These are samples; if you want to develop a different trait (or reskin an existing one) go ahead and propose it.

Second, did we get agreement on which teamwork trait(s) you're taking?

Doug M.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Do we have to know the spell already? Or could I choose a second level spell to get at +1CL, and essentially not get the benefit from the trait for 2 more levels?

As far as the feat goes, I asked this a day or so ago. I think we were leaning toward the Stealth one.

Allied Spellcaster for Me/Cy/Dren could be useful. However, most of us have different spells and for me they are more buffing spells, thus +2 SR will be less useful. Not sure whether Dren is likely to have a lot of use for the +2SR - obviously for Cy it would be good.

I think that Lookout for Bren/Edmin/Jax could be very useful. As long as they are next to each other, something that is likely in surprise situations, then all will be able to act. Or even get Standard & Move actions if both would not normally be surprised.

Precise Strike is nice, but I think that Edmin already has this from his Cavalier level.

Shake It Off could be very good. Assuming that the casters will generally stay together and the fighters fight the same enemies (ie - don't play chaotic stupid and run rampant across the battlefield), then we will get +1 to +4 on all saves. This could be most useful on surprise rounds when enemy spellcasters try to nail us with big spells and we are all together.

Finally, Stealth Synergy would be very good for getting the moving tank, Edmin, places more quietly, after all, we could make 6 rolls. The odds of at least one of these being 15+ is very high with 6 of us.

Cimu, Bear's Endurance is one of those spells that gets some use as you progress in levels. Jax isn't likely to spend money on Con enhancement over a Dex enhancement anytime soon. So for one spell level that's an extra 2 hp/level + Fort. Now, Cat's grace is better but will be less useful at higher levels. Unfortunately, there aren't that many useful spells at level 2 for a magus.

He has mirror image in his book already from the Waren's book. If you want to take Glitterdust, I'll replace it with scorching ray. Invisibility doesn't have any use for Jax himself since he's much more likely to use Vanish (and with his limited spells he's not likely to be buffing anyone but himself, sorry guys!).

Here are spellcraft rolls for that including the +2 bonus (note, where possible i tried to pick any spell with one of those keywords because it felt fitting the book would have those spells in it over any others).
DC: 17
Bear's Endurance 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Blood Transcription: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Bladed Dash 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 (oh come on please let this one roll well, this spell is so cool!)
Cat's Grace 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Darkness (Can Jax get another +2 circumstance bonus on this for being able to cast it as a racial ability?) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Scorching Ray 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Frigid Touch 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Pyrotechnics 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Web 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

I agree with Stealth Synergy as the selected feat.
Jax took a rank in Know: Dungeoneering as well, Bref. (atm he has one rank in every knowledge skill that is a class skill) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Edit: Aw..damn! The one I hope for rolls a 1, fail haha!
Oh well that adds: Bear's Endurance, Blood transcription, Darkness, Scorching Ray, Frigid Touch and Web to his spell book. 6/9 ain't that bad! That's a free 240 gold, so almost worth the price of admission.

Edit 2: Cimu, assuming over the next 7 weeks Jax can take 10 on spellcraft for spells from the Warden's book, his current spellbook looks as follows:

Spoiler:

0: All; Acid Splash, Arcane Mark, Dancing Lights, Daze, Detect Magic, Disrupt Undead, Flare, Ghost Sound, Light, Mage Hand, Open/Close, Prestidigitation, Ray of Frost, Read Magic, Spark

1: Color Spray, Grease, Ray of Enfeeblement, Mount, Magic Missile, Obscuring Mist, Shield, Shocking Grasp, Reduce Person, Vanish

2: Bear's Endurance, Blood Transcription, Bull's Strength, Darkness, Flaming Sphere, Frigid Touch, Mirror Image, Scorching Ray, Web
