For the sake of clarity .. I mean with the setting specific things like station, etc

The setting is not as developed as Golarion or Faerun or the like. For background, it depends on what you are looking for:

Askar: Common Warrior of a settlement. Includes soldiers, militia, citizens with fighting abilities, could be a caravan guard, etc. page 12 has list of cities.

Corsair: Explorers, pirates, freebooters.

Faris: Holy warrior (deities only given names as far as I can tell, not detailed descriptions)

Mamluk: Slave warrior. Have facial tattoos. Run the gamut of having militia and government positions to being treated horribly. Likewise some are born into it like a caste and others are captured. Can be given leave of absence or be sent on missions.

Mercenary Barbarian: Exactly what it sounds like. Generally distrusted.

Outland Warrior: Similar to above barbarian, but more “curiosity and some fear” than outright distrust.

——

Unlike other settings, there is little to no racial prejudice. No settlements for individual races. A full blooded orc and a dwarf would be treated the same: based on their actions, not their blood. So a half-orc would be treated much better here than in other areas.

As an example of strange social advancement, it says the city of Qudra’s emir is a dwarf who was elected by the city’s mamluk societies. The city of Huzuz is ruled by a hereditary caliph. It seems to be the wealthiest and most important city. It has the “House of the Loregiver” the only named monastery I saw.

Pantheist league is a collection of city states. Very religious, only pay lip service to the capital and the Loregiver temple there.

So he would probably have started out as an orphan taken in as an acolyte or w/e at a House of the Loregiver, then, when he could not conform to the stricture of a monastery, was asked to leave. Whereupon he started selling his martial ability as a caravan guard or a city guard.

Sounds like his current station would be Askar...

Probably from the Pantheist league initially.

I present a partially completed Fursin D'Urigh .. mechanically almost done .. the important stuff still to come. (This is MisterLurch)

As mentioned in the interest thread I have come up with the following stats for Zakhara Ogre.
+6 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 Int, +2 Wis, -2 Cha
Large Size, Reach, +2 Natural Armor, Darkvision, Low light vision

Compared to the normal Ogre +10 Str, -2 Dex, +4 Con, -4 Int, -4 Cha, Large, Reach, Darkvision, low-light vision, +5 Natural Armor

Stats are a reduction by half in all bonuses and penalties. I also threw in the bonus to Wis as representation of Zakhara's focus on "enlightenment". Still kind of stupid powerful.

It is stupid powerful. But…with +1 CR templates being allowed it kind of fits.

@Sendi

I was contemplating to change to a cold creature. So we are opposites.

But I'm not sure that would work all too well

:P

If it was a two person campaign, I’d say that would be a great idea (siblings as elemental opposites would be awesome). But probably not with a full party (unless we were the only ones with elemental templates). Otherwise I think the same template with different styles likely works better from a thematic perspective.

Yeah, it's still pretty powerful. Can you give me an ARG breakdown so I can follow your work?

I didn't initially use ARG but this is what it looks like

Humanoid Giant 0 RP
Large 7 RP
Normal Speed 0 RP
Paragon 1 RP
Language Standard 0 RP
Advanced Con 4 RP
Advanced Wis x2 9 RP
Natural Armor x2 4RP
Reach 1 RP
Darkvision 2 RP
Low-light Vision 1 RP

RP total of 29

Want me to try to get it closer to 20?

Yeah. it's looking like a LA +3 race.

I don't know about LA +3. It's the 3.5 half ogre (LA +2) with some wisdom tacked on and half the Natural Armor.

Humanoid Giant 0 RP
Large 7 RP
Normal Speed 0 RP
Weakness -1 RP (+2 Str, +2 Wis, -4 Cha)
Language Standard 0 RP
Advanced Con 4 RP
Advanced Str 4 RP
Natural Armor x2 4RP
Reach 1 RP
Low-light Vision 1 RP

The above lands us at 20 RP with
+6 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, +2 Wis, -4 Cha

We could drop the Advanced Str to bring RP down to 16 but at that point I think the various plane touched are better

I think you need advanced strength for the ogre to work. Let me check the PF Bestiary first. I think Ogres were introduced as a race there.

EDIT: They weren't introduced as a race. They are CR3 in the PF Bestiary (page 220).

So how are we feeling about the Ogre? If we want to get her under 20 RP my next step would be drop Natural Armor by 1 that brings us to 18

You can drop her natural armor. Yes, 18 (LA +1) would bring you to under 20.

Elton, standard races (+0 LA) have 10 race points.

Would it not make sense that every additional bracket of 10 race points would be the equivalent of a +1 LA?

From the ARG

Standard (1 to 10 race points) max 3 racial traits per category

Advanced (11 to 20 race points) max 4 racial traits per category

Monstrous (20+ race points) max 5 racial traits per category

So a 20 race point race that does not have any monstrous tier racial traits, and has no more than 4 racial traits per cateogry would be an 'advanced' race (+1 LA)

If a 20 race point race has any monstrous tier racial traits and/or 5 racial traits in any category, that race would be a 'monstrous' race with a +2 LA instead of a +1 LA.

That is why I made sure to point out which advanced race traits were used for the 2nd-generation dray 'standard' race.

Some of the advanced traits are ones that standard (race point-wise) races have. The best example being claws from the advanced bracket of the offensive racial traits category.

Is this going to be a roll 20/discord campaign or play by post? When would online session be if roll 20?

Play by post. I wish I can do it on roll20/discord, though.
