@Dragoncat, Mark Thomas 66, John Woodford apologies for the errors guys, I've had a quick re-read and you guys are good to go. I'll update the list again tonight to reflect.
@@Albion, The Eye, crunch isn't necessary but it's definitely preferred. I'd like to be able to cast an eye over the character sheets, it helps me put together a picture for what your character can bring to the party.
@RHMG, encumbrance rules will definitely come into play during the module

Craig Lawrence |

Craig Lawrence was already up with the sun, which is not atypical for poor folks trying to make a living in and around a small town on any day, but today wasn’t typical. It was the time of the Market Festival, where all the goods of artisans and farmers alike would begin their journey to the city of Tamran and supplies might be coming in as well. Heck the town was positively stuffed to the gills compared to its usual population, and someone long ago had decided that these profit making moments with strangers aplenty should be a time of celebration that might go well on past sunset.
But chickens still need to be fed, and some chores just can’t be skipped. And young acolytes of Erastil are supposed to set a good example. So from his cramped thatch roofed sleeping area in his family’s house, out slid Craig to tend to them. He wasn’t alone, of course. Even with his older brother set up on his own spread with his new wife about a mile away, there were plenty of folks sharing the Lawrence home.
Craig was the first up, splashing water on his face and combing his hair quickly before starting up the stove. His mother came in soon after, and smiled. Magda Lawrence was prettier than she had a right to be given years of toil and work, and having four children that tasked her mightily. Crowsfeet had begun to appear, and gray touched her hair, but she stayed slender and her eyes were bright.
“Thank you, Craig. I’ll take it from here, you feed the chickens and then go on, townsfolk may need you,” Magda Lawrence directed, “Your father can chop more wood if we need it.”
Craig wanted to protest he could do both, but ever since Erastil had granted him the power of true healing through prayers, his place in the town had gone up, as had the expectations of him. Which was only fair, as he’d been quite the troublemaker but a few years ago afore he found the path of Ol’ Deadeye.
He had a lot of amending to do. And part of that was putting his meager healing skills to work for others in Phaendar who might need it. In addition to loading or unloading wagons, there would be sports contests, competitions and more and while hopefully no one would get hurt; one never knew.
“Okay, mama,” Craig answered even as his father came out with a yawn, nodded to him and wished him a good morning with an affectionate grunt. Trom the elder had never been one for a lot of talk.
“Morning, Pa, Happy Market Day to you too. I’m off to feed the chickens.”
Soon he was breaking out the feed for the few chickens they had. Overall it was light work, often left to his siblings. As he spread the seeds, and made sounds to stir the chickens to meal time, he smiled to see his sandy haired younger brother come out to take advantage and see if any eggs had been laid.
“Hey, Craig, you gonna save a life today?” Stefan was ten and for some reason still thought his older brother was downright amazing. More so now that his brother was a proper holy man.
Craig knew he’d be lying if he didn’t find it flattering, “More like put a splint on a broken arm if someone falls off the barrel walking contest.”
A new voice spoke up, “More like Craig’ll be the one stepping and fetching the elder healers in town do the real healing, Stefan.”
It was Nayda, his sister. While she was younger than Craig, it was by less than a full year, and she remembered all too well the trouble her ‘older’ brother got into when they were in their early teens.
Nayda had been quite the Tomboy back then, and still was in a lot of ways, but it was obvious she was going just a bit extra this day; her hair was brushed and braided nicely, her peasant blouse was down right fancy by her usual standards, and her breaches fit better than what she usually wore.
Craig fought off any urge to warn her about getting too flirtatious with some of the strangers from out of town this night. All it would do would put a bee in her bonnet and have her do it just to show him he should mind his own.
And she’d also rib him why HE, a servant of Erastil, wasn’t so much as DATING right now, let alone having a wife. No, some battles did not need to be fought.
“That’s likely true,” He humbly replied instead, “We’re fortunate and blessed as a community to have more than one servant of a goodly god about, and let’s face it, if I were the best we’d have to offer there, we’d be in more trouble than a large nosed man in a cave full of skunks.”
“Hmph,” Nayda replied, possibly annoyed at his humility before she continued, “You going to try your hand at the archery contest?”
As a servant of Erastil’s church, Craig was expected to learn how to use a longbow, and had, though he felt nervous using it. The bow he’d been gifted was worth more than his family made in a year.
He shrugged, “I’ll give her a go, but there’s lots of shooters better than me. Hunters around here will be trading pelts and I got no chance out-shooting most of them. Still, for fun and practice, sure.”
His sister gathered up some goats to take them out, they didn’t have a proper amount truly, “Well, best of luck with that. Don’t embarrass the family.”
“Craig wouldn’t do that, he’s the best!” Stefan protested.
Craig couldn’t help it, he gave a slight smirk to his sister at their little brother’s praise, then said “Thank you for the trust, Stefan. And I see you found an egg. Good work.”
“Yup, gotta take it in, we’re gonna eat like kings,” The boy declared as he took the treasure into their small house.
Finishing up his own chores, Craig headed towards town. Even at this early hour, one could tell there were a lot more travelers going in. Footprints, wheel treads, and hoof prints were so plentiful on some of the roads that they nearly wiped each other out. It was no never mind to Craig, long as it helped the community.
Then he heard the scream. It wasn’t a human scream, but while he was no rider, he knew that sound well enough. That was a horse in pain. Craig raced towards the noise full tilt.
Craig didn’t know who the man beating the horse was. He hadn’t seen him here ever before, but the fellow had clearly fallen off the horse and decided to punish his mount for the indignity. There were mud and grass stains on the stranger’s fine clothes. In his pale hand he held a riding crop, the very device he was now whipping the horse with as his other hand held the reins so the horse couldn’t move. A more defiant steed would have stepped on his abuser’s foot or worse, but the poor beast was swaying rather than pulling away as Craig thought it might.
Craig grabbed the wrist that wielded the crop. He wasn’t the strongest lad in the village but he had the element of surprise and the man’s grip let it fly.
“What are you doing?” Craig demanded, trying to keep the heat of his voice from showing all the anger, “The horse won’t learn a thing from that kind of abuse.”
“How dare you lay a hand on me, you country bumpkin?” The newcomer seemed stunned at the audacity, “This is MY horse, it dropped me, and it is my right as it’s owner to discipline it!”
“It saved your life,” Craig informed him, “LOOK!” And pointed with his free hand to a few more paces back. There, a still writhing serpent’s body wriggled despite its crushed skull.
The stranger’s face paled, “Wait, is that venomous?”
“A wife finding out her husband is visiting a Callistran temple, you bet,” Craig said with disgust and moved to the horse, “Your horse took a bite, see these marks? Would have killed a man, may still kill your steed.”
Slowly the stranger’s rage drained out completely replaced by shock, “I could have died. I’ll have to get a new horse. Blast it all, the expenditures!”
Craig did not think he could like this man any less than he did, “It could be dying, you hit it for nothing, and you’re bellyaching about how you’re gonna have to WALK?” No staying calm on this one, he rolled his sleeves up and glared ire before realizing he didn’t have time to slap this fool.
“Wait, could be, you can save it?” the man asked.
Craig was already working on doing just that. With a small knife, and a few herbs, he got to work draining what of the venom he could, “Mister, I’ll tell you what. Even if I save this horse, I think it’ll be no good to you for weeks. I know someone who will buy it off you for three gold.”
“Three gold? The horse is worth three to five times that much” the stranger gasped even as Craig worked.
“They’ll pay 3 silver for the knackering,” He told the man flatly, “You agree or not?”
“Fine,” the stranger hissed, “I’ll have to buy a new horse anyway to leave this wretched town.”
That future purchase would not come cheap for the man. Craig would make sure of that. He would spread word of how the man treated his horses. Even if the local law didn’t take offense with animal cruelty, the folks who had horses to sell would. The stranger would find few would sell to him, and the ones who did would charge him the price for at least three horses.
Least that’s how Craig hoped it would work. He had faith in his god, and his god told him to have faith in his community.
He resumed his effort to save the horse. No magic would be used, he didn’t have the blessing for such but maybe skill would be enough to buy time so a greater healer could restore the horse that much sooner. He wished he could afford it himself, even at the reduced price he offered; he was just glad he knew good folks who could. Oh well, not like he was going anywhere.
This was his home.

I'm thinking my sorcerer grew up outside civilization to nature loving parents. He himself doesn't really care about animals or plants if they aren't needlessly killed, and is somewhat dispassionate overall. Kind of guy who uses minor illusion to disguise a trap to catch an animal. Or charm person on an animal (verdant bloodline) to get it to do labor for him with the friend to animals trait.
This lets him get his hands on pristine takes so he doesn't have to haul in as much trade to make ends meet. Bit of a lazy neutral, but motivated to keep everything functioning and running smoothly.

@Shadow Dragon, sorry I missed you, were you still leaning towards hunter?
Yes. Given the added complication of being a hybrid caster class I'm also contemplating a Slayer although I'm not a fan of the class.
I wrote up a Hunter on Sunday during breaks in my in-person game.
The Player's Guide to Ironfang Invasion has the following text on page 5:
"In addition to the animals mentioned here, the bestiary in Pathfinder Adventure Path #115: Trail of the Hunted features a selection of animals native to Nirmathas that PCs may select as animal companions or familiars. Talk to your GM about these possibilities."
Can you tell us what animals are listed?

@Shadow Dragon, the bestiary lists two local animals that would make for suitable companions (the 3rd is a tiny lizard and feels more like a wizard familiar). See below for descriptions; if either tickle your fancy I'm happy to send through the statblocks. The ringhorn gets a bonus to climb and the Nimble Moves feet, while the switchback can use disable device untrained to bypass simple traps (any trap with a Disable Device DC of 20 or less). A trained switchback jackal can also learn one additional trick beyond those allowed by its Intelligence (it has a 2 in Int).
Ringhorn (CR 1 Medium animal)
The horns of this goatlike deer grow up and curve around into a pair of massive, spiraling rings atop its head.
Official Art
The most populous of the Nesmian Plains’ half-dozen species of ibex, ringhorns are sturdy herbivores that populate the gullies, scrublands, and foothills of central Avistan. Surefooted to the extreme, ringhorns prance across sheer, rocky walls and over rough scree to avoid predators and migrate to new feeding grounds. Ringhorns are sexually dimorphic, with females growing up to 150 pounds and 4 feet tall at the shoulder, while males are slightly shorter but bulkier.
Switchback Jackal (CR 1/2 Small animal)
Resembling a small, half-starved wolf, this canine stares with deep intensity and undeniable hunger.
(No official art so I'm guessing it looks very similar to a real jackal)
While the wolves and big cats of Nirmathas draw much of the common folk’s fear and ire, the region’s clever jackals inflict far more damage on farms and herds. Able to digest almost anything, these small predators scavenge and steal with unparalleled skill, bypassing gates, seals, traps, and even doors with ease to plunder chickens, goats, and produce. Utterly fearless, starving packs even prey on far larger and more dangerous creatures—including wolves and humanoids. In harsh winters, packs subsist on grubs and roots, and even eat their own. Switchback jackals grow up to 30 pounds and 2 to 3 feet long.

@SqueezeMeNow, so sorry, I find it hard to cut through the noise and I was too focused on looking for ready-made aliases. Also, regarding your rage question; I would consider healing as a full round action to be something that requires intense concentration, so rage would impact your ability to do it.

Hiram Spindlewood |

Here is Therenger's submission.
Human Slayer, Hiram Spindlewood
Hiram is a resilient survivor of tragedy (Unbreakable Survivor). He has created a new life in Phaendar and operates a produce stand in the central market. He has relationships with many of the townsfolk and appears to be a simple gardner. But he stands ready to defend the people and the town he cares about should danger come again.
Hiram is charismatic, congenial, and caring. He could be the Party Face and is also a very capable front line fighter.
GP: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 4, 4) = 21 x10
In the twilight hues of Crystalhurst, amongst the ancient oaks and whispering firs, a boy found himself lost to a nightmare. Only twelve, he witnessed his world crumble into darkness as a horde of hobgoblins ambushed his father's hunting party. The silent serenity of the forest betrayed them, turning into a cacophony of screams and death. His father, a man of strength and compassion, fell to the wicked creatures, leaving the boy alone, cradling the blades that bore the blood of his lineage.
Leaving Crystalhurst was a decision marred by pain and necessity. The murder of his father shattered the dream that the druids' teachings had built—that their village was hidden and immune to the horrors of the larger world. He could no longer find solace in the myths that once cradled his youth. The anguish of leaving his mother and younger sister behind was a crushing burden, but he realized he had to distance himself from the disillusion. It was like being startled awake from a dream, and the village no longer held the magical comfort of a childhood home.
The Wanderer's Path
The journey through the wilds of Fangwood was a tale of survival and solitude, a boy becoming a man amidst the shadows of towering trees and the songs of nocturnal creatures. The forest became his mentor, its rangers and hunters teaching him the ancient arts of tracking and trapping, of silent steps and swift strikes. As time passed, he forgot his given name, for he had no need of it. He became a man of the wild, silent and steady, moving like a shadow among trees. He took comfort in the tenets of the Green Faith, finding them to hold true against the façade of forgotten Crystalhurst. But eventually his mind and body tired of the rigor of the wood, and he desired companionship.
A New Dawn in Phaendar
The village of Phaendar, with its cobbled streets and humble abodes, offered the wanderer a sanctuary he scarcely believed he deserved. The townsfolk welcomed him, not knowing the specters of his past that followed him like silent shadows. To them, he was simply a wanderer looking for a place to call home. He chose as his name Hiram Spindlewood, a new identity for a new life. They saw a gardener in him—a man who, like the plants he tended, desired roots and a sense of belonging. His produce stand in the market thrived, a small testament to his new life. Hiram, the gardener, found a semblance of belonging.
Quiet Life in Phaendar
Hiram's quiet life in Phaendar was marked by the bonds he formed with the townsfolk. There was Jet, the innkeeper, who admired his resilience and shared stories of her own hardscrabble life. Among his other produce, Hiram grew hops to sell to the local Brewmeister, whose ales were a flowed by the tankard through the Taproot. Jet’s inn became a second home to Hiram, a place where he could find warmth and companionship.
He had formed a friendship with Vane Oreld, the town herbalist, and Hiram would often make extra money running errands into the Fangwood looking for the ingredients to Vane’s remedies. Vane could be prickly, but he was honorable and the two men shared a mutual respect for the forest and for one another.
Hiram also forged a bond with Lirosa and Taidel, the smithy’s children, who would visit his garden to pick flowers and eat vegetables straight from the vine or the soil. Their innocent curiosity and boundless energy brought a smile to his face, reminding him of the simpler joys in life. That affection had earned Hiram rare admiration from the smithy, Kining Blondebeard, who treated Hiram less inhospitably than most traders. She offered him fair prices on his crops, and when given was true to her word.
And there was Aubrin the Green, a cleric who had once been a ranger, who saw a broken reflection of herself in Hiram. They shared many evenings by the hearth; sharing stories of lost youth in a world that seemed as far away as the moon.
Yet, amidst this newfound peace, Hiram never let go of his past entirely. The twin kukris, symbols of his father's legacy, were always ready. He kept them sharp, a ritual that bridged his two lives—the gardener and the hunter. The feel of the blades in his hands was a reminder of the violence he had witnessed and the possibility that it could return. He lived with the fear that one day, the tranquility of Phaendar might be shattered, and he would have to wield his father’s blades to protect his new home.
Hiram Spindlewood remains a man divided by his past and his present. As seasons change and life moves on, he finds solace in friendships, each one a thread in the tapestry of his new life. He stands as a testament to survival and adaptation, ever watchful, ever resolved, ready to defend the peace he had come to cherish.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A slayer is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, as well as with light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
Studied Target (Ex) [Errata] A slayer can study an opponent he can see as a move action. The slayer then gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against that opponent, and a +1 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against it. The DCs of slayer class abilities against that opponent increase by 1. A slayer can only maintain these bonuses against one opponent at a time; these bonuses remain in effect until either the opponent is dead or the slayer studies a new target. If a slayer deals sneak attack damage to a target, he can study that target as an immediate action, allowing him to apply his studied target bonuses against that target (including to the normal weapon damage roll).
At 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th levels, the bonuses on weapon attack rolls, damage rolls, and skill checks and to slayer DCs against a studied target increase by 1. In addition, at each such interval, the slayer is able to maintain these bonuses against an additional studied target at the same time. The slayer may discard this connection to a studied target as a free action, allowing him to study another target in its place.
At 7th level, a slayer can study an opponent as a move or swift action.
Track (Ex) A slayer adds 1/2 his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.
