Going back to the OP, I definitely think 'kineticist weapons' is a place where additional books could add some cool stuff to the class. I'm imagining equipment that either simply adds a special effect to EB when held, or maybe a wepon that says "use your impulse DC for attack," does EB-ilke damage and then adds a special effect on top of it. Or maybe they roll it all up in a single a new feat, similar to Kinetic Activation ("Kinetic weaponry"?), that says something like "the Kineticist can use magic weapons with the same traits as their kinetic elements, at their impulse DC."
