What are your Kineticist character ideas?

Im really interested in the class and like all the combinations that exist. Theres alot of mechanical talk on the class that I enjoy but I wanted to hear what character ideas yall want to play.

I imagine the most common kineticist ideas will be mono or dual gate. And then either 4 elements in air, water, fire, earth ala avatar or if your ambitious, all 6 elements.

When I play one I think I will do single gate Metal. I really like the metal plane. But I am hoping due to the side bar in the book that we may get a Void element in the Tian Xian character guide next year even if it will be an uncommon or rare option. But currently planning to be a range single gate metal blaster.


I would love a void element. we already have vitality damage in wood so I think void would fit in and also just more elements is nice. I feel that elemental options are quite sparce atm for each other, with alot of levels just having 1 feat or 2 for each level.

Metal I quite like, it feels a bit weird that the flavoring on metal is that the metal you make is rusted and corroding but I still like it. Hope theres more lightning impulses in the future.

I kind of like the theme of Metal gaining rust and corroding. I want to play a Talos Halfling Metal Kinectist that at the end of their journey, they begin to rust and eventually become immobile due to their exposure to the Metal Plane throughout the years. Throughout their journey they noticed the signs but didn't comprehend the extent of what was happening. Until they eventually become a Metal statue in the middle of a town square. Their legacy forgotten to time.

But there's a side of me that wants to wait for the Tian Xian material coming out. If Void does become an element, I would love to play a Void Kinectist in the Seasons of Ghosts adventure path. But I guess we'll see what happens.

Golden-furred kitsune aasimar character. His great-grandfather was in a position to save the life of an immortal caretaker of one of Nirvana's celestial plum orchards, and asked for his reward to be a blessing upon his descendants. A few generations later, we have a magical trust fund kid who lounges about on a floating cloud and hands out celestial plums that didn't meet the exacting standards of the immortals, which are still divine enough to provide a measure of healing to mortals. Family tradition dictates he secure at least some blessing for his as-of-yet hypothetical offspring as a matter of pride, although neither intervening ancestor managed anything quite so impressive so far.

Wood/Air kineticist, in the CN/CG ballpark, and immensely fond of treating matters too casually when he can get away with it. Scrupulously kind to little old ladies, orphans, beggars, orphan beggars, animals caught in traps, trappers who have just had their dinner freed by some mysterious troublemaker who should surely be apprehended if caught, and anyone else that might be a fey, witch, genie, or angel in disguise as a test of character. Thus far he's only run into one disguised demon whose hand burst into flames upon touching the offered plum.


A weather witch


Void Kineticist sounds pretty cool, would be hype.

My current main idea is a Fire Earth dual gate kineticist. Invest in strenght and get the earth armor. Blast enemies with weapon infusion. Jump at foes with lava leap. Get the Fire Aura Junction and the Fire stance that does fire damage to enemies to be a continual, heavily armored damage tornado. You dont even need aura shaping for that.
A bit weaker in damage than single gate fire but with better defenses, being able to stay closer to enemies better for the aura damage. Weapon infusion makes it quite versatile, being able to EB at long range, or use thrown or propulsive to apply str to damage. Also getting some AoEs and mobility from impulses and later some walls for control.

I imagine the character as a kinda shy artist/blacksmith that in combat dons a black obsidian armor with flames spouting out of the gaps and becomes this intimidating figure summoning obsidian or lava weapons that fly at enemies. Id have most impulses flavoured as some sort of weapon related spell. Raining spears from above for aoe and the like.

The second idea is Air water dual gate. I kinda wanted solo air to work but i think it lacks some stuff. This one i havent characterized fully yet but i imagine some gozreh vibes and focus on weather related things. Dashing around with the thunder dash, hindering enemies with the frost stance and picking up enemies and dripping them with the composite spell ( this one seems so good, thats 2d6+20 damage and prone, though it gets limited hard when inside or against flying enemies). This one is less Blasting heavy as the first one but gains great mobility, some healing, some area denial. Will need aura shaping for the frost aura.
