I doubt the name will stick, but mostly because of Pathfinder from Apex Legends, which is another Battle Royale game.

I was also confused in Mass Effect Andromeda, where the main character is referred to as 'Pathfinder.'

Anyone remember the movie Pathfinder, which was about a viking stranded in North America?

And didn't the famous American author James Fenimore Cooper write a novel called "The Pathfinder" as part of his Natty Bumppo or Leatherstocking series back in the 1800s? I remember thinking at first that the movie referenced above might be an adaptation of that novel until further research revealed that not to be the case.

Granted seeing their reaction to Elden Ring I'm just waiting till they learn that Paizo's Pathfinder is even more "open world" than that and their games XD
