^I think the Crane Wing + Crane Riposte options are one or the other -- looks to me like if you are Fighting Defensively, you get an AoO if your opponent missed you by 4 or less, whereas if you are using Total Defense, this cannot happen.

Race based feats that give you special movement(especially flight), energy resistance, natural armor bonus, spell powers, and improvement and/or extra uses of racial abilities are always good.

I saw Cunning and Fast Learner mentioned already.

I like Elven Spirit. Great way for half elves to get spell penetration+ or at will detect magic or (possibly) a +1 bonus to saves if you can ditch keen senses.

Human Spirit OTOH sucks.

Fey-Sighted's constant effect Detect Magic is legit. Combine that with the Eye for the Wonderous magic trait, and you just kind of automatically know the properties of a magic item(s) within sight... constantly.

If you were allowed to trade out Elven Immunities, along with your newly acquired Elven Magic, you could pick up Lightbringer for at will Light... and, Lightbringer does bring other benefits.

The thing about a having Light as an at will SLA is that they can then use the Adopted trait to grab this:
Minor Wishcraft
Source Inner Sea Races pg. 197
Category Race
Requirement(s) Geniekin
You gained some power of wishcraft from a genie ancestor. You can spend a use of a racial spell-like ability or your elemental assault racial trait for the day to instead use any 0-level spell as a spelllike ability. The spell must be used to produce an effect requested aloud by a humanoid within 30 feet since the end of your last turn.

^Weird -- I can't find Minor Wishcraft on www.d20pfsrd.com or Archives of Nethys.

^That's why -- it's a Trait, not a Feat. Which actually makes it better as long as you don't need another Race Trait (which you usually won't).

Not a feat, but a nice trait for low level/low magic games.

Devoted Healer Take 20 on a heal check and heal hd+1d4 for treat deadly wounds. Just took it on a character that is in a cleric free party.

a heal check takes an hour. taking 20 makes it take 20 hours...

if you have that kinda down time, i guess its ok.
I prefer battlefield medic, lets you make 2 heal checks on someone each day instead of just 1

D'oh missed that detail. Thanks

I prefer Healer's Hands combined with Battlefield Surgeon. Treat deadly wounds as a full-round action, add your ranks in Know:Planes to the amount healed, and do it to the same target twice in one day.

I have that on a Titan Fighter with Incredible Healer and Signature Skill Heal and Psychic Sensitivity for Faith Healing... and all those ranks in Know:Planes fuel her Flickering Step/Dimensional Savant feats.

Thanks for healer's hands. Looks like that will be my 5th level feat. :)

Witty Feint because Gnomes with Weapon Training rarely have Sneak Attack... so it's nice to be able to feint for a dodge bonus to your AC. Just a neat alternative.

A Gnome Sohei Monk could have Witty Feint and Bewildering Koan. Legit.

Personally I wish there was a feat that anyone can get that gives you 1-2 at will cantrip(s).

That would have been nice.

They aren't cantrips, nor are they available an unlimited number of times per day, but the feats that allow you to do things based on your number of ranks in a particular skill are pretty neat. Like Know:Planes... just knowing about weird $#!+ somehow allows you to do weird $#!+... like:

surround yourself with negative energy, or

give yourself a halo, or

turn yourself into jelly, or

stagger targets and do charisma damage, or

conjure little walls of stone, or

put a brilliant energy effect on your weapon, or

light yourself on fire...

Fun stuff. Awesome stuff.

I know we have already discussed Battle Cry and Combat Advice, but I think we forgot Insightful Advice. This is an all-day +2 untyped bonus to a skill check... great for any party with anyone relying on Bluff/Intimidate/Stealth... to name a few.

So for a swift action, a move action, and a minute of your time... you can provide a +1 morale bonus to attack, a +2 competence bonus to attack, a +2 untyped bonus to a skill check, and a +4 morale bonus against fear. It's no Flagbearer/Banner of Ancient Kings, but it's fun nonetheless.

Interesting.

Poison Resin, because giving Grippli the ability to make physical weapons out of their own hardened slime secretions is just freaking neat. It kind of reminds me of the Kaorti, and their resin weapons... just Grippli are way less creepy in juxtapose to Kaorti.

Fixed your link. Now you got me thinking about a Grippli not only making such weapons, but handing them out to party members who have either poison immunity or sufficiently good gloves to keep it off them.

On the other hand, I couldn't find Kaorti on Archives of Nethys (tried both editions) or www.d20pfsrd.com.

Thanks for fixing the link.

Grippli could technically get way more uses per day out of their Toxic Skin, since it costs one use to activate Poison Resin, and you get to poison ~6 targets with you resin weapon.

Kaorti are Forgotten Realms aliens that can create weapons and armor out of their own resin... I believe any weapons made from Kaorti resin automatically have a x4 crit multiplier, or something fancy like that... and they can corrupt targets, turning them into more Kaorti. Anything that can turn you into one of them is terrifying.

^Yeah, that's way nastier than Grippli poison, which just temporarily lowers your Dexterity (although for somebody that really needs Dexterity but has a bad Fortitude Save, like a Swashbuckler or a Rogue, that could really add up to a world of hurt).

What book is poison resin in?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Poison Resin via AoN goes to here. Apparently it's from a PF1e Companion, Potions & Poisons. ;)

PS. as an added bonus, some 3.5 Kaorti stuff. ;)

Forgot about that book.

I forgot about Nimble Moves, so useful to get a 5' movement in difficult terrain...especially for martials.
