I just spent some time going through the 3rd-party wondrous items list and there are tons I want to use now...


So I was able to find for both of my tristalt ideas, a full list of equipment, feats (some scalable but just new unique 3rd-party ones), full magical gear, for every slot, potential prestige classes I could go into and spells for all my slots. Tome of horrors has tons of 3rd-party monsters.

The things I lacked were some general adventurer equipment. I did find some cool things on Pinterest though from I think homebrew makers making DND 5.0 card items for their homebrew games that could work.

It looks nice, but I'm not sure. It would be another classes with many moving parts (that I'm not familiar with). That and it's Charisma based making me more MAD and clashing a bit with the only thematic race I have found so far, the Hexbreather and it's -2 Cha.

Best fitting third class on the cursing front I have found would be Mageknight, from the Spheres stuff,, with the Grim Disciple archetype. But on mechanics it would be less of a fit as that one is full BAB while the other 2 aren't.


A suggestion, if I may?

Instead of limiting players to classes whose chassis is the same, why not limit them to a tight theme? Something like what Cuan is doing with their hex/curse concept.

However, keep the restriction that you can't go all out and cherry pick classes to get all the best stats(the aforementioned fighter/thief/mage).

This way, we can deviate a little from say all classes needing to be medium BAB as long as it fits the theme, but we still can't go overboard either.

Silver Crusade

This sounds like a very fun idea. Unfortunately, tristalting only 3rd party with everything else being banned narrows down options a lot unless you buy a lot of things you'd otherwise never use, and even then im not sure where to even begin. It also makes a lot of 3rd party stuff unusablensince many reference basic feats and such. The only fullish replacements i own and have experience with are the sphere system and initiator classes.

To ask regardless in case an easy and affordable base feat/skill full replacement exist, what do you consider forbidden synergies? Is a full bab class with spherecasting compatible with a a full bab initiation class?


Is this still in the works? If so, I'd like in on this action. I have far too many third-party ideas floating around and even being able to play one would make me happy.


i'll put together a more coherent idea once we move from interest check to an actual post with rules. but i am interested for sure


I have a concept forming, but right now, the classes do not meet Seb's above restrictions of 'all the same chassis' but all of them have strong thematic element.
