For pathfinder second edition, how does XP gain and Leveling work?
This is important because I'm filling out things for an online game convention where I intend to play multiple games with the same character, and they want to know the level of the character for each scenario, so I need to be able to figure out if I'm going to Level between adventures.
And I CANNOT for the life of me find anything in the Organized play section that tells me.

You get a level for every 12 xp
For some reason, the only place where I could find a reference to the fact that you get 1 xp for quests and bounties, 4 xp for scenarios, and 12 xp for some adventure path books and modules, was under the achievement point section under "player -> Rewards":

This section on rewards specifies the usual xp rewards. 1 for "quests", 4 for scenarios, 12 for certain adventure/AP books

We may have overpruned that information when cleaning g up duplicates. I will look into it.
(It should also be in after the game)
I had a bunch of new people at my table the other day that were asking this same question. Its sad that even after three years, the information for "after the game" is still missing.

Why all the links lead to a gambleing site???

They moved The PFS Guide a couple years ago to a different location. Try this link! It's much better, I promise!
Hmm

Quests that are supposed to take one hour yield 1 XP.
Recently, there have been a number of Quests written that are supposed to take two hours and yield 2 XP.
Check the amount of time a quest is scheduled for. At conventions, it is not uncommon to see a two hour slot set up for the one of the 1 XP Quests, and the 2 XP Quests are scheduled for three hours. I believe that this is to account for the fact that Quests are often geared to new/inexperienced players, and their need to be taught portions of the rules.
Experienced players generally don't have any trouble finishing a 1 XP Quest in one hour, or a 2 XP Quest in two hours.
Perhaps you should communicate with the convention staff if Quests are on your schedule.

In the year of our lord 2024, it's still not intuitive to find this information on the website. I don't know why they stopped releasing PDFs for the PFS rules. Also, seems odd to complicate the PFS1 system of leveling after 3 scenarios by adding an XP award when it all comes out to the same effect. 3 sessions = a level is simple and straightforward.

I mean, if you want to play three one-hour quests, get 2.5 treasure bundles per quest, and then level up that's your perogative.
Simply put, PFS2 has a very easy and straight forward xp system. You get 1 xp for every hour that the module is supposed to have taken. Quests take about an hour, so they give 1 xp. Scenarios are supposed to take 4 hours, so they give 4 xp. Once you hit 12 xp you level up, regardless of how you got there. 12 quests, 6 bounties, 3 scenarios, or 1 adventure, it's all the same. The expected hours of playtime equals the xp granted.

There are several things in PFS1 that give fractional XP, so they multiplied all the numbers so everything in PFS2 is a natural number. I really don't think that made things less straight-forward.
I'm with you on missing the PDF though.

I'm with you on missing the PDF though.
Since I said that, I have been poking around the website guide a bit and it is much more readable and navigable than the last time I looked at it (circa 2019). Although frankly it needed to be!
The advantage of the old-style PDF in theory was that you could read every page and know you'd read every page, whereas with a website there could always be another link you missed. But in practice the PFS1 guide almost never got updated between seasons, so there was a proliferation of important information not in it - if the website guide is updated often enough that it actually contains everything it needs to that changes the equation somewhat.

...Also you can view the current Guide as a single page if you want, and presumably make it into a PDF from there (if you really want a PDF specifically).
I am aware, but the "single page" format does not appear to be literal - at the very least, it does not appear to include the Remaster page. And where there is one extra page, there could be more.

I'll pass that feedback along, thanks.

In Bounty #14 at the end of the bounty it says "CHRONICLE SHEET
Characters playing this adventure for Pathfinder Societycredit earn a Chronicle Sheet. If the PCs return with
Branwaen from the sewers, they earn 4 gp each. Bounties
don’t grant Downtime.
The Pathfinder Society Organized Play program uses a
version of the Slow advancement presented on page 509
of the Core Rulebook, simplified to 1 XP per 100 XP
normally granted in core play. This adventure also grants
the character 1 Reputation for a faction of their choice."
This is from the Pre-Master so the page # is not current. I hope this helps.
