What is the difference between the Regular Edition and Deluxe Edition books?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place... But I was wondering what the difference between the regular editon and deluxe edition books for Pathfinder 2e is? I'm asking because I want to start buying the 2e books and start GMing it for my group, But looking at the core rulebook, It has been sold out in my nerd store of choise for atleast 4 months... But they have 2 copies of the deluxe edition core rulebook in stock. I'm not sure if the deluxe edition is worth the big diference in price though....

So I come here to ask, What are the diferences, and if you got the deluxe edition do you think it was worth the extra cost?

I know the rules are avalable on Archive of Nethys, But I prefer using physical books, And also want to support Paizo. Unfortunately I dont have the most funds, Thus my questioning on if it is worth the cost difference.

The deluxe are really collector's items. The major difference is the cover (faux-leather embossed) - all of the contents are identical.

As someone who does like collecting RP books, I consider it a worthwhile purchase, but I use my normal edition for day-to-day play.

I prefer the feel of the Deluxe edition books, which is unfortunate because I have them all together on my shelf to be left in pristine condition and one day signed.

But yeah, the only difference is the cover, which looks classier on a shelf and feels better in the hand.

Thank you both! I guess I'l wait a bit longer and hopw they get the regular edition in stock soon. Otherwise, I might have to save up and get the deluxe edition. Hopefully I'l manage to become a decent GM when I stard!

Regular edition has better cover art.

You could buy the PDF version if you're low on funds. Also, with that attitude I can pretty much guarantee you're going to be a great GM!

I dont realy like books in PDF form, I like having a physical book to flip through, I'm just weird like that.. xD

My group is full of great GMs that have GMd for me and the others over the 4 years i'v been a player, And I feel like it is my time to try and bring awesome adventures to the rest of the group, So I shall attempt to GM! Just.. Gonna take a while to learn the rules of 2e.. xD

Not weird at all! There are many of us who feel that way.

Nah, you'll pick it up quickly. Are you playing online or in person? Roll20 has a nice intro adventure called Torment and Legacy that you can run for your friends for free. It's a quick one shot to get everyone familiarized with the rules and also the roll20 site.

They should save the very best rules for the deluxe edition only. Then it'd be worth the money.

Liberty's Edge

You can buy the CRB on Paizo.com ;-)

It's worth noting that the Core Rulebook is on backorder right now because of a REALLY popular Humble Bundle a short while ago. Getting a physical copy from anywhere except perhaps Amazon is going to be a struggle.

And I just want to put in my 2cp... I've been playing exclusively online for several years now, and I have pdfs of all the rulebooks, but I still keep my physical books to hand because I prefer reading from a page rather than a screen, and you can't put your fingers in three different pages on a pdf to help you quickly flick from one section to another during play.

That is probably why it has been sold out for so long, The store likely havent been able to restock it then. Thanks. =)

Made from real Corinthians?

One difference I really like is that the deluxe editions have a few stitched in, cloth, bookmark ribbons.
