Chihuahua animal companion

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So nothing needing response to just a random brain fart. So I have four, yes four Chihuahuas. So was designing a gnoll character with an animal companion, Hyena of course. When I had the mental image of a character having a Chihuahua as an animal companion. Now at mid to high levels the companion is dangerous. But looking at a Chihuahua most monsters would laugh at the tiny little dog. Then to their shock and horror the tiny dog rips them to shreds. Even more disturbing seeing one of these little dogs trying to drag a carcass of a dragon it killed. To add injury to insult the name of the tiny dog is something seemingly innocent or cute. Tiffany, fluffy, princess etc etc.

They're more on the familiar scale of things aren't they? Maybe they give a +3 intimidate; they'd like to, certainly. Or +10' speed when withdrawing.

I can't think of any size Tiny animal companions, though a courtly hunter with a dog or wolf animal companion might change it into a chihuahua-oid when they use their ability to make it size Tiny.

I think there was one in kingmaker and it was just regular dog? :p

Even worse is if a tiny dog took out a large monster. An Ogre laughs at the little dog then starts screaming. "It hurts, it hurts." as the tiny terror rips him up. Later have him walk into the bar carrying in it's jaws the leg bone of said Ogre.
I mean it's damage output would be a joke. Still the image of a Chihuahua taking out a monster such as an Ogre funny.

Who would win? The Chihuahua Companion or the Rabbit of Caerbannog? Next time on Epic Death Battles of Golarion!

You know... why not. We have dire corgi mounts, and a race of lawful good Erastil-worshipping dog people. Dangerously powerful chihuahua companions... doesn't seem out of place.

Is it bad that the forget thing I though when I read the title was:

Chihuahua uses bark, dealing 20 sonic damage to everything in a 20-ft radius. It was super effective.

Actually have their bark serve as a distraction against casters. When my dogs are wired at night every couple of minutes,"Bark, bark, bark." Wakes me and the wife from a dead sleep.

There were stats for Corgis released a couple years back. Use those for a small dog.

I have a Carrasquito Lupin Gunslinger from Mystara, North of Smokestone City. He has a very nasty mouth, prone to say the foulest things imaginable backed up by his two pistols and more nastiness.
