Transferring an old character from 3.5 over to pathfinder 1 advice

Advice

So I like to build a pathfinder version of one of a character I played that got a lot game in my first 2 years of rp.

It was 6 to 7 years ago and we where in a world of are GM on making and my character was a Trifling (to note this was a Geslat game but this build only needs one class)

She was a Duskblade and a warmage and method to combat was to you the Duskblade spell channel ability and release a spell such lighting bolt in her sword so shocking grasp + lighting bolt in one swing . Looking back idk if this one even legal out side off rule of cool but she was very much one swing nova STRIKE type character.

But looking back she was kinda bland. Her back story was was interesting as her mother assassnaited her father and was a spell sniper that in game took down a boss cause he was taking to long to kill us.

I know the go to is magus but is there any build that could use a two handed sword and be a magical swords man type character.

Arcane Duelist Bard?

If you are building at a higher level an eldritch knight build maybe? Both arcanist and wizard have archetypes that are sword centric and would be cool as a base.

You can absolutely use a two-handed weapon to Spellstrike if you wanted. It's arguably not the optimal way to build a Magus, but can still be fun.

Deep Marshal Magus gives up some survivability since it can't cast illusion spells but it gains back a bit of stuff offensively and starting in medium armor makes a STR build more viable.

Eldritch knights can get arcing weapon for another form of spellstrike. That's from mid-levels though.

If you want to start with such abilities then you're a magus, full stop. If you use a 2H weapon then you're a magus who doesn't use spell combat much; eldritch scion and a couple of other archetypes have reasons to go that way. Spellstrike still works as JiaYou points out.

Well...an occultist could possibly use legacy weapon for spell storing to pre-cast a spell which is later released on an attack, but that's just once/combat which may not be enough for you.

That very much sounds like a magus.

Sovereign Court

Blade Adept Arcanist? It'll get you spellstrike, and near wizard casting. But unfortunately, limited to 1h weapons like most Magus.

Oracular Spellstrike of the Ascetic Mystery for Oracle, but limited to unarmed strike and cleric spells (a bit harder to get lightning bolt that way).
Similarly limited to unarmed strikes(and also combat maneuvers), Blood Conduit for Bloodrager. Not exactly spellstrike, but after you hit swift to cast the spell.
You could probably work in Ascetic Style with a monk 2h weapon(seven branched sword, tri-point double edged sword), or just versatile design on your favorite 2h sword.

And of course, Kineticist. Through you would have to wait until 13 for quicken metakinesis.
