For ages untold, a gemstone monolith has pierced the heart of the Echo Wood. Now, as civilization intrudes upon this enigmatic splinter, a strange life once again stirs in the depths—one with ties to undying evils and a might beyond time itself. The promise of wealth and power calls to glory-seekers from across the Inner Sea region, tempting them into a labyrinth of monster-haunted vaults, defiled tombs, arcane laboratories, and worse, as they seek to unveil the secrets locked below the legendary Emerald Spire.

Looking for players to start a bi-weekly, Wednesday night campaign for The Emerald Spire Superdungeon. Games will run online from 7 pm EST (or 7:30 pm, if a later start is needed for that day) until 10 or 11 pm EST (depending on how late everyone feels like going that night). The current plan involves using Roll20 to host along with Discord for voice chat.

Session Zero: February 27th at 7 pm EST.

This campaign will involve material from The Emerald Spire Superdungeon, Thornkeep, and The Forest Campaign Compendium to flesh out a long-ranging campaign involving Mythic Adventures and running from 1st to 15th level.

Sources allowed: All Paizo material is allowed (with the exception of the feats listed in the Banned list). Mythic Adventures will be used. Third-party material will be allowed on a case by case basis, but the player's guidelines list below contains suggestions.

Banned List: Crafting. Leadership. Beyond Morality. No One of Consequence.

Suggested Reading Material: Jester David’s The Emerald Spire Player’s Guide, People of the River, The Guide to the River Kingdoms, Dungeoneer’s Handbook, and Mythic Origins.

You can find The Emerald Spire Player’s Guide here.

Player's Guidelines::

Any alignment (with the caveat that PCs have to work together and No PvP)
15 point build
2 traits or 3 traits with one drawback
Standard wealth by level
Max hit points at first level, then take the average or choose to roll thereafter.
All Paizo material allowed (excluding the Banned list)
Mythic Adventures (PCs will gain at least one mythic tier in-game)
Mythic Heroes Handbook
Mythic Spell Compendium
Path of War
Path of War Expanded
Akashic Mysteries
Ultimate Psionics
New Paths Compendium
1001 Spells
Deep Magic (Will be unlocked in-game)

Player expectations::

Your characters will be based in Fort Inevitable, a small town near the Emerald Spire. Fort Inevitable is under martial law, ruled by the Hell Knights. They maintain order, but also punish crimes harshly and allow for slavery.

The adventures will focus on exploring the eponymous Emerald Spire for various reasons. The Emerald Spire is a glass-green tower, now in ruins. It is rumored to be of Azlanti origin, but the truth remains obfuscated by time.

The campaign begins at the first level and will continue to fifteenth level or more. We shall strive for a mix of roleplay and heavy tactical combat.

Post your interest in the forums below to find a spot in the game. We already have a few players, so we can add up to four more. Several of us have played together before, so we are familiar with how we play and would like to find more people that would enjoy becoming part of the group.

Hey, I'm Gwen. I'm one of the already players. I'm looking into either playing the arcane mage or a channel cleric.

I'm leaning towards the arcane caster because I never really had the chance to play one in the past.

I will play cleric, which is my favorite class, if no one willingly steps up to be the healer. From the sound of this game, a healer will be a important, probably just as much as a rogue type with trap sense.

Planning the party dynamic out on discord will help us live through this dungeon crawl. Looking forward to meeting new peeps.

I play with these folks on another night, and were it not for a scheduling conflict, I would be all over this game. They are all solid people and it promises to be a lot of fun. Good luck to the applicants. I’m certain you will enjoy it!

Cheers

Darned tootin'! Been messing around with hawkguard archetype too in case ranged end up being better idea than melee.

Gwen, have you seen the Theurge class in the New Paths Compendium? It makes the arcane and divine casting capabilities of the prestige class available at level one.

I'm hoping my copy of Thornkeep arrives this week, so I can start working out all of the NPC groups and various subplots.

I may throw in a few chunks of the Castle of the Mad Archmage here and there, just because SUPERDUNGEON!

I like that the Hellknights have taken over Fort Inevitable. I've been a fan of Hellknight lore for a while, so this will give me the chance to play them up!

We've found another player from the Roll20 forum.

Current party composition includes:

1) arcane mage or a channel cleric

2) angelkin aasimar dervish defender warder

3) dwarven geomancer

4) undecided

Hello! Would you have room for two more? A newer player from my home group and I are interested.

She wants to play some kind of cleric or oracle. While I'm interested in playing a shifter, I'm pretty flexible and can do just about anything else if necessary.

Players may choose one free Campaign Trait from the Player's Guide or from the homebrewed list of Emerald Spire Campaign Traits.

I'm sorry, I literally just OK'd two more people on Roll20 right before I saw your post. It looks like we are filled up for now.

I will be happy to let you know if we have any changes and something opens up.

Thank you again for your interest.

That's a little frustrating. *shrugs* C'est la vie.

Yeah, let me know! We'd be happy to come in if something changes (barring changes on our end of course). Good luck with the game if it doesn't though!. :D

I've heard of mystic theurge but not theurge class on its own?

Yeah, I'm sorry. I had posts in a couple different places and have just been taking them as they come.

We'll definitely keep you in mind.

Yep. It's in the New Paths Compendium. You should check it out.

I'm going to send you a PM. We have two openings if you and your friend want to join.

Current party composition:

Tiefling Cleric
Azlanti Warder
Island Troll Conscript
Human Ranger

It's wide open for a proper arcane caster.

Wednesday nights 7pm EST to 10/11pm EST.

Next game on the 19th.

Silver Crusade

Do you have any openings anytime soon?

We have two openings at present. I have PM'd Darthrancor above but have not heard back from him, so we'll fill those slots with whoever is interested.

I'm interested in playing an online based game. I have a very solid grasp on Pathfinder and am more than happy to round out the group.

Ok. Great! We are running on Roll20 and using Discord for voice chat.

I've listed the current party composition above. This game is a pretty heavy mix of roleplay and tactical combat.

What are you interested in playing?

Silver Crusade

I have a couple ideas, how do you feel about mounts/animal companions?

Other than that, I have both an idea for a bloodrager, or a sorcerer.

I am fine with mounts and companions. It is worth noting that this is a very heavy dungeon based adventure. We do spend time outside of the Thornkeep dungeons and the Spire in the forest or the surrounding roads, but underground, mounts would most likely be impractical.

Silver Crusade

Alright, but a hunter using his animal companion as a flanking buddy would be ok? Note. Not sure thats what I would do, but just considering.

Same build rules? Also, what level would we be?

Yes. Everything is pretty much allowed, including various third party materials. I run everything by RAW as much as possible and follow current errata. So you are welcome to come up with what you like.

The party is pretty melee heavy at present, but there are no other restrictions. The build rules are the same as above. 15 points. Two traits per PC or three traits with one drawback taken.

They are currently second level and will hit third pretty soon. I am using milestones, so everyone will level up at the same time.

New PCs will start at second level with standard wealth by level for 2nd.

I don't have any specific ideas, though it seems that an arcane caster is the spot to fill. Aside from Rorek's last question, what is the power level? I've played all different power levels and am happy to match where everyone is at.

Hi, Saashaa. We have a few power gamers in the group, so feel free to do as you like. We're using a 15 point build to keep the game from snowballing out of control, but other than that, players are free to play what they like.

We have one player using Path of War and another is using Spheres of Might, so we have a diverse group.

Scarab Sages

Pathfinder Rulebook, Starfinder Society Subscriber

Question: Does the party have roguey type things they can do?

They do not have a rogue at present. The ranger is just a ranged combatant.

Scarab Sages

Pathfinder Rulebook, Starfinder Society Subscriber

I think I have settled on an elven exploiter wizard.

Sounds good. They'll need a reason for wanting to go into the Emerald Spire. Like any good dungeon, rumors of powerful magics and ancient artifacts abound.

If need be, we can come up with something more personal by using the surrounding area of the Echo Wood. Thornkeep and Fort Inevitable are the two closest settlements with a variety of interesting NPCs in each.

Let me know when you get your characters sorted and I'll PM you the invite to the Discord server.

You haven't missed anything from the Emerald Spire yet, as the party has been in the upper level of Thornkeep.

Do you want me to post or send a stat block?

You can just send me a copy in whatever way works for you. I have Hero Lab, but any character sheet or link to one is fine.

I will PM you the discord link and we can follow up there.

Only one spot left for the game next Wednesday.

We're still early enough in the campaign, that you haven't missed anything.

Recruitment closed. Thanks to all who expressed interest.

You posted yesterday in the other thread that you would be keeping recruitment open for 6 days, but now you say it is closed? It sounds fun to join.

I'll send you a PM.

Well, schedule changes have been brutal this week. We are holding strong at four players, but I am going to open recruitment again for an additional player.

Live game. Every other Wednesday. 7pm EST to 11 PM. Roll20 and Discord.

Apply here or shoot me a PM.

Current Party Composition:

Tiefling Cleric
Azlanti Warder
Island Troll Conscript
Elven Exploiter Wizard
and Human Ranger (cohort)

. . . Aaand we have a winner! We've found our extra player between here and the Roll20 forum.

We'll leave this thread closed for the time being.

Thanks!

As of 1/1/20, we are re-opening recruitment for one new player. The next two games are scheduled for the 15th and the 29th @7:30 pm EST.

The party is currently 4th level with one mythic tier. They have been completing the levels beneath Thornkeep and have yet to enter the Emerald Spire.

Prospective applicants must be willing to play a class that compliments the party synergy. Our game consists of a mix of heavy roleplay and intense tactical combat in that inimitable Pathfinder First Edition style - with Mythic Adventures rules.

Current party composition consists of the following:
Azlanti warder
half-troll bloodrager
tiefling cleric/sorcerer
human vitalist

Thanks for stopping by.

I just opened a thread on Roll20. If you are interested, don't wait. I will begin screening applicants there immediately.

We've found our extra players via the Roll20 forum. We'll close this thread for now. Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in the game.

We've spent the past year clearing out most of Thornkeep. We did a light reboot to start the Emerald Spire proper. We're currently finishing the first level and have decided to open the game for one more player.

Our next session runs on May 6th from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm EST. We use Discord for voice and chat. You must find a way to fit into the group and being able to access voice on Discord is required to play.

Pathfinder First Edition. Mythic Adventures and so much more.

The current party consists of five characters:

tiefling stalker (Path of War martial class)

magic cat (Spheres of Power caster)

duergar aegis (Ultimate Psionics martial class)

suli time oracle

drow druid spider summoner

Sessions continue bi-weekly: 5/20, 6/3, etc.
