10 people marked this as a favorite.

Just as the title says, it'll say two people favorite'd a post but won't show me who.

I want names, damn it!!

Thanks, have a great weekend!

Yea, just noticed this myself! It gives dates / times, but no names. I'd like to know who thinks I said something worth while enough to be favored. Need to keep away from that silly person... heheheheh

Yeah, you see something like

So I'm not the only one encountering this problem. Good to know.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. We have prepared a fix and will be including it as part of the next major site update.

I've been experiencing the same bug, too.

(Thought it might be some decision on privatising the names of those who favorited the post - I've seen stranger things done for reasons that made even less sense [edit: on other sites], so...)

@Robert Brandenburg:
Thank you.

Carry on!

Do you have any idea when that will be, it's actually a surprisingly annoying issue.

I'm just curious, no hurry!

Have a great day!

Not sure if its related but I now don't seem to be able to favourite posts at all. I click the button and it goes from + to - but there is no list of favourites (I favourited the post immediately above by Cptn Yesterday so you may be able to see what I mean).

Edit: Ah. Looks like it is either an extreme delay or that I have to refresh the page

Edit2: I seem to need to refresh the page. I waited over 10 seconds (timed it) and nothing. Refreshed page and saw that I had favourited a post.

Right. I had the same confusion about the favoriting problem you had.

Probably a known issue, but if you click on the number of favorites it doesn't display who favorited the post, only when it was favorited.

Very small issue in the scheme of things, but I thought I'd flag it just in case.

Just noticed the same thing, figured I was the only one who needed the validation of knowing exactly who favorited my post.

Guess not! ;p

The update will include a wide range of other fixes and improvements. Development is already finished so we'll just need to test them. Assuming there are no delays, we should be able to roll these changes within the next two weeks or so.

Awesome! Thanks for answering!!

Woah. I just realized something.

As long as this bug remains, I can favorite my own posts and no one will know that it's me. It'll look like people think I'm funny or insightful, which might fool more people into favoriting my posts because of the conformity effect. And then I can delete my favorite when the update rolls out, and it'll just look like people respect my thoughts and opinions. This is legitimately the best thing that has ever happened to me. No hurries on that update, m'kay?

O_O

It actually worked!

There are some people that do that even when they can be identified.

No I don't.

If you are really motivated, you can see who favorite'd your posts by looking at the source code for the page. The hyperlinks to their names are still there, it's just that there isn't any text:

Quote:

<p class = "tiny">

<a href="/people/ProfileName" title="ProfileName"></a>,
<time datetime="2018-09-12T09:20:31Z">Wed, Sep 12, 2018, 02:20 am</time>
</p>

On the Favorited by web page source, in the styles tab while debugging for the title, where the name of the person that made that post a favorite is, the
html, body, div, span, iframe, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, blockquote, a, abbr, del, s, img, sub, sup, b, u, i, center, dl, dt, dd, form, label, embed, ol, ul, li, menu, dir {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
border: 0;
}

has all zeros in the structure fields for margin, padding, and border.

Are they supposed to be like that?

I can see you all now!

Ironically, I have been getting a lot of favorite'd by others since it's gone anonymous. I have no idea who you all are, but I thank you anyway.

Still busted after three weeks....

We've all been there, I think.

Yeah, what the deuce, man!

This is actually super frustrating, hopefully sooner rather than later! :-)

Have a great day!

Yep, still not fixed

Eye twitches, ever so slightly.

It’s getting tedious, pulling up the source code every time I want to know who favorited a post. :/

If you're in Chrome or Firefox, you can bring up the debug console and examine the HTML elements that way. It's faster and less irritating than opening source, but of course still far from the ideal experience.

I don't even know how to do all that.

Don't waste your time telling me, others have.

On Firefox, it’s Ctrl U. Two keys on the keyboard. Simplest thing in the world. :)

I just checked up on the status of this (it's been driving me crazy too) and the bug report has passed QA and should be included in the next code roll. My understanding is the next code roll will occur within the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for the update, Sara Marie!

Even though I had not posted here, I have to admit that it's been driving me crazy too.

Hmm

It's Ctrl U on Chrome, too, as it turns out.
