I'm very happy that we finally get an AP which goes to level 20 and does not use them.
Well, this AP will most certainly use mythic rules, just not for the PCs.

Which is totally fine, it's the PC's which break the game, not mythic opponents.

And your problem is?

^What problem? Pay no attention to that mad scientist behind the curtain . . . .

Yeah, Mythic was best as "Ultimate Enemy Advancement".

What AP is the best trap ever from?

The only mad scientist I accept is Doctor Insano.

^In the unlikely event that I ever get to run Strange Aeons, I've got to try to figure out how to fit in a character by that name who is up to a nefarious plot, but whose day job it is to unstop the toilets in Briarstone Asylum . . . .

Don't forget to have him wear the goggles and yell "With science!" a lot. :p

Okay. I've a question on the Player's Guide. Yeah, I know it's been a while. Hopefully I can find an official answer...

In the Player's Guide it says various Campaign Traits have an ability usable "Once per Adventure" - is that once per Game Session, once per Book Chapter, or once per Book? (Or just once period?)

Generally speaking one book equals one adventure.

Here's the link to James Jacobs' post about it.

Thank you :)

Hi,
In the list of recommended readings on page 13 there is Pathfinder Campaign Setting: City of Secrets, which I think is a mistake.
Specifically, it should be interpreted as Pathfinder Campaign Setting: City of Strangers, or as Pathfinder Comics: City of Secrets?

oops. That's supposed to be City of Strangers, the Kaer Maga book.

Thanks for the quick reply.

It is also for this reason that I love Paizo!

Scarab Sages

Gotta say I love the adventure path so far. Some pretty intense RP moments at the start of the third book! :)

I do have a question for James Jacobs, though:

Book 3:
Is Xanesha really supposed to use Vital Strike with Corrupting Touch? I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. It cost me a life, though. :Þ

Spoiler:
She has the same feats as a ghost as she did when she was alive. Becoming a ghost wouldn't change her feats. Note also that she has Improved Critical (spear) which is pretty useless to her. Whether or not you let Vital Strike work with her corrupting touch is up to you; but in my opinion, as written, it does look like it works in that way to me, which does mean she hits hard. There's still a save to halve it, of course, and if she's hitting hard that way she's not going to be able to use spells or other options. She was a tough encounter in Rise of the Runelords, and she's meant to be a tough one in Return as well.

Thanks for the reply!

Vital Strike only multiplies weapon dice, not the whole damage, though. Corrupting touch does not have weapon dice (e.g., its damage would not change if Xanesha changed size), so there should be no effect. Also, using a (Su) ability is a special standard action, not the Attack action, which Vital Strike uses.

The same argument has been used to prohibit Kineticists from using Vital Strike on their Kinetic Blasts, as far as I know.

Then do it that way. She's still scary.
