Bloomington (~1 hour south of Indy) has PFS events every Monday evening, including the day after Gen Con. If you're planning on being in town long enough, we might even be able to arrange transportation, given enough lead-time!
Assuming you're not already exhausted by the time Monday night rolls around! :P

Maybe if people get an opportunity to play on Wednesday and Sunday evening, they might be willing to GM or perhaps add a slot or two to an existing schedule :-)
wishful thinking
I'm already GMing for you Bob. I wish I could do more than I've signed up for, but I'm old enough to know my limits.

I know it doesn't help for this year, but next year I expect to be helping more. But this year my son and I will be enjoying the con.

My comment was not directed any particular person, so please don't feel like I'm calling *you* out or anything. Sorry if that is how it read.
Just hoping to encourage more volunteerism as there are a lot of factors coming together this year that seem to be having a negative impact on the community. I am hoping more people will look past these inconveniences and increase their level of participation. If not, it is what it is. We can only manage the resources provided. In the end, if we have to cancel tables for lack of GMs, we wil cross that bridge when we come to it. Gen Con might be the largest convention of the year, but it is still plagued by many of the same challenges faced by even the smallest of events.

Hmm, I may just need to buy my plane ticket and save up for Uber fare.
No. Pre-GenCon is hosted at Scotty's Brewhouse courtesy of the Indianapolis Pathfinder Lodge on the Wednesday before GenCon.
I'm in the early stages of planning the event, but it will be happening.

Ther's nothing to say you cannot organize an event Wednesday evening on your own. It happens quite a bit. Most hotels have comfortable lobby space that people use to game. Sometimes there are tables set up in the hallways of the convention center people will "steal" on Wednesday. They usually have the paint 'n take tables set up east of the Sag at the top of the escalators where I've seen people play. Other offsite locations as well, union station, the White Castle, Champs (really loud), in someone's hotel room. If you're lucky, you could set up at the patio furniture by the food trucks, just east of the convention center. As long as they don't have any events running in that area on Wednesday night, it would be a nice place to play if you enjoy the outdoors

James Risner (VA from Kentucky?) organized that last year and responded to my PM a few weeks ago saying he was planning to organize that again this year. Guessing he may be waiting for the Scotty's stuff to go up before he posts? If he doesn't get something up within the next week, I'll post something to organize it myself (need to get it submitted and ticketed prior to June 17th for people to get tickets mailed rather than waiting for will-call)

As for locations, don’t forget Lucas Oil Stadium (as long as GenCon still utilizes the stadium).

Won’t most of you have played it already? Though I suppose that since I am half way to my first skitter some of you SF GMs might already have one by the end of GenCon and would want to play skitter shot with your actual skitters. That could be hilarious!
Starfinder's only really caught on in one small spot of my area, but hearing the recording of your PBP panel from PaizoCon has me interesting in trying it out that way. You have a good point about most people having already played it though.

For Pre/Post GenCon events, a friendly request to please have someone (GM, player, random person with internet) post to the GenCon channel of the PFS Discord if you are open to random PFSers joining the fun! (pfschat.com).
(Community Service announcement, as while my GMing spirit is willing, alas hotel rooms just aren't working out. Maybe next year!)

Landon, do you want to try it out in PBP? I have a group of four for PBP Gameday VII, but I wouldn’t mind having a second Quonx join my table. We had kind of decided to leave the last two slots of my games to any latecomers or newbies. Would you like to join us there? Let me know, and I’ll give you a link to the table.
Hmm

That sounds great, if you don't mind.
