Recruitment for PFS2 #1-08, Revolution on the Riverside, levels 1-4. This game is associated with Gameday IX.
1. Recruitment begins on August 12, 2020.
2. Unlike other Gameday recruitments, this game is NOT First Come, First Served. I will leave recruitment open for at least 2 days, and then treat all applicants as if they had simultaneously applied.
I am aware this may be awkward for characters that apply here but do not get accepted. However, I believe the benefits of a flatter recruitment structure outweighs the cost, and I do this for all my non-convention games. If it becomes too complex to manage in a convention context, I'll stop doing it for the next convention.
3. I will be choosing among applicants based on the following criteria.
- I would like a mix of experienced and newer players. I anticipate the applicants to skew newer because this is an early scenario.
- I will prioritize characters from, or who have a clear association with, the River Kingdoms. Caveat: if the APG has some game-breaking feats from the River Kingdoms, I will renege on this criterion.
- I will prioritize active PbP GMs.
- I will deprioritize edgy characters, including any potential absurdity from the APG, such as a witch with Child Scent. Sexualized roleplay is prohibited. Profanity is prohibited. If I have to look it up in the Organized Play Guide to see whether it's prohibited, it's prohibited.
If you feel like I'm being harsh with the last criterion, and want to demonstrate how a fully functioning character can use those concepts, PM me, and I'll consider running an "consenting adults only" game outside of Gameday for you.
4. Regardless of when recruitment ends, gameplay will start on September 1, 2020.
5. Posting expectations are standard: 1 post/weekday, 1 post/weekend. From prior experience, this will put us on pace to finish within 6-8 weeks (late October), well in time for the end of the convention. Please let me know of any extended absences up front (by PM, if necessary).
6. To apply, please make sure your character profile is filled in, and post here.
In approximately 4 hours (midnight UTC time), general recruitment will open.
While I haven't read through the APG cover to cover, I don't believe there was any absurdity that would cause me to reconsider any of the criteria I've previously posted.

I would like to apply with Elariel. She is an elven wizard. I just typed up her backstory tonight and haven't had a chance to proofread it yet - I'll go over it again tomorrow.
I am relatively new to PFS, Pathfinder 2E and PbP. I believe my first game started in May of this year. She has no connection the River Kingdoms - I haven't ventured into the APG yet as I am still learning the basics. I understand that may preclude me from joining the game, but as it's not a requirement, I figured I'd give it a shot!
I don't anticipate any issues with following the posting schedule.

Level 1 goblin oracle (flames mystery) ready to roll into action. Still need to create online character sheet in profile, but build is finished and ready to import. No connection to the River Kingdoms.

Hey @WaterySoup, I never played on your table and would like to change it. I chose this scenario because you are GM'in it. Just setting up expectations ;)
I wanted to sign up my Xun for this adventure. He is lvl 2 Bard (will be lvl 2 in 1-2 weeks). He is Mwangi and I play his as a storyteller and one speaking with ghosts. I don't have any troubles with regular schedule.
I do get some negative points on your scale as: I am a regular PBP player (for 1.5 years), and I do not GM games. At the moment I have only one PF2 PC as after few games I decided that I like Starfinder more and this is where my most of games happen. However I like playing Xun that is why I stick to playing him.
I really love RP and try to avoid raw posts at all cause. I do experiment with 'playing my own game' like here: Intro post to some other game
I do feel like the game could be a place for building your PC storyline a bit like in books.
I think that is it. Let me know if you would like to know some more.

This is one of the two single-digit modules I have not played. :)
So, yes, older player (both by age and pf experience).
Crunch has no connection to the river kingdoms and there is absolutely nothing silly about them at all! Nothing! Just an every-day goblin champion of Torag, like you'd expect, naturally.

Sorry, Looni has to pull out from this table , but I’d still love to play at this table with a different fresh character. If we still want the madness, I can offer a fresh cleric of Nethys instead.
It's up to you. We've got a legal table without you, but the more the merrier in my opinion. (I've never seen a cleric of Nethys before ... Bocke is a PFS1 inquisitor of Nethys, but that's not the same.)
Watery, we seem to be at each others tables a lot lately.

Hawthwile/Looni has GMed for me multiple times and I've GMed Crunch twice, I think. 70-80% of my PFS1 games have been with some subset of maybe 10-15 players. PFS2 has been a little more diverse, but I think the player pool is just bigger; also, I've been intentionally running games for new players.
Elariel, Xun, Crunch, and Barashk - you're all in. I'll get the Gameplay thread up tonight.
There is space for 2 more, if Hawthwile comes back with another character, they can have priority.

Woooohoooo! I am so happy to be admitted to this team! I think I did not play with any of you, and I am glad to have an opportunity to change that!
