Prerelease Discussion

Hey guys,
this 2nd Edition playtest is sounding fan F***ing tastic and I was wondering what the chances are that we poor cousins in the UK could take part.

Shouldn't be hard, after all we need the books and maps etc to be available in the UK in line with the start of the Playtest.

So can I pre-order the books in the UK from my Friendly local games store. Can they, likely through Esdevidium (or Asmodee UK I think these days) pass these orders on to you and while I read all the exciting tweets from Gen Con can I stroll into my Friendly Local Games Store and pick up those fine beasts?

Please, please, please. If possible, get us those books in time, because working from PDFs like children and barbarians isn't the way a roleplaying character is meant to be born.

Anyway, everything I have read thus far has made me excited.

I know supporting our local game stores is important, but if it helps the Playtest Rulebook and Adventure : Doomsday Dawn are now on Amazon.co.uk for pre-order. I was slightly concerned yesterday because they were up on the U.S. site yet not the U.K. one, (we still do not get the Flip-Mat).

Please note that they are no longer on Amazon.co.uk, I had them 'Saved for Later' until I had money to put on my card but the links no longer work, (I also did a search). *Sigh*

Playtest games will be running at UK Games expo in May/June and also at UK Paizocon in July.

Your best bet is to DL the PDF when it drops so you can test it as soon as everyone else. Then, order your copy at your FLGS so you cna pick it up later.

I buy almost all my gaming supplies from Spirit Games, who offer an excellent postal service and whom I am indeed patronising for the new play-test book.

Unless I am severely misunderstanding the situation, by the time the PDF drops it will be several months too late to order the hard copy.

My bad. I meant order the playtest and expect to DL the playtest first and get your hardcopy later.

I managed it, here in London, at the Orc's Nest (by phone), she even asked me which version I would like (soft-cover, regular, or special).

Unfortunately their pre-order windows for each item closed on 18th April.

Whilst I am not the O.P., they may be in a similar situation as me where most local game shops do not stock Pathfinder items, (and are quite derogatory in a bizarre "Warhammer4ever" manner). I have had to pre-order via the U.S. Amazon since the only shop, (a few towns/cities over), to say that they might be getting the Playtest items has not gotten back to me. Good luck O.P., where there is a will, there is a way.

Just a heads up, amazon really messed up their starfinder preorders. lots of folk who preordered had to wait for second printing. There will not be a second print run on these.

That's why I'm having paizo send my books to the UK. Since it's only books there will be no import duty. I am picking the maps up locally because there would be extortionate charges from Royal mail on those.
