So... I want to make sure that the Scarab Sages get sunsetted properly in my little corner of PFS. What scenarios should I feature to give the Scarab Sages some screen time and a last huzzah?

Shifty (from over in Flaxseed) ran Risen from the Sands (to get us into a 'feel' for what adventuring was like in Osirion (with all party members at 2 exp).

He then ran Destiny of the Sands 1, 2, 3.

You'd probably want to fit the new 1-5 The Unseen Inclusion in here after the trilogy.

I picked up Bacon Below and Ancient's Anguish at conventions using a pregen. Their credit is waiting to be used once the character is high enough to use them.

Unfortunately, I had a different character for both Refugees of the Weary Sky and Raid on Cloudborne Keep, so they weren't really in the 'narrative arc', though they should probably be worked in.

In addition, Tyranny of the Winds 1, 2, 3 is not a bad addition if you want to do 'bridging' to the new faction that will be released soon.

That's off the top of my head, at least.

Now I'm hungry. ^_^

(Although that sounds like more of a Chelaxian/Dark Archive adventure. Maybe if we ever get a Chronicle sheet for For Queen And Empire...)

I still have to catch up with the rest of my colleagues, so any resource that gives me an idea of which paths to follow to enlightenment is more valuable than gold. Though I'll likely be chronicling the deeds of others (via applying GM credit) for many of these expeditions, rather than delving the ruins myself. Just like when that winter portal opened in Taldor... those poor souls. *shudders*

As pH unbalanced noted in the blog post thread, our local community is rather heavy on Scarab Sages, so having a guide to good send-off scenarios would be very useful. Hopefully we'll get access to the store again in time to make things happen...

The main ones are in the list in the blog. I think it pretty much covers all the scenarios that specifically feature Scarab Sages. Risen from the Sands is a good suggestion from Wei Ji for something not specifically Scarab adages, but that still has that feel.

For older scenarios from before Scarab Sages existed, I thought a lot of the season 4 scenarios could fit. Especially the 7-11s. Refuge of Time and Words of the Ancients in particular. Also, the Heresy of Man series has some tie-ins to characters eventually involved with the Scarab Sages. Part 3 especially.

Yes, the blog features some scarab sage scenarios, but I wanted to get a sense of which ones really popped that Scarab Sage feel. In PBP, it takes weeks to get through a scenario. So picking and choosing some of the best ones to highlight makes sense.

The new one (Unseen Inclusion) had a ton of Scarab Sages flavor, for me.

Beacon Below is certainly an important one to run for wrapping up the Sages arc. I know I need to run it before the end of Season 9 because of [redacted.]

For PbP constraints...

Definitely try to get the three parter in, Bacon, and then Anguish. Everything else is gravy.

I just ran unseen inclusion tonight had schedule to run it since early November for tonight. It was a lot of fun and good for the scarab sage faction

The list in the blog is already quite complete. The only small blips in it are The Paths We Choose, which has a skit formally introducing the new faction, and The Darkest Abduction, which has you chase a dead end. The Paths We Choose is a pretty fun scenario.

If you're strapped for time, you could leave out Test of Tar Kuatha and Ironbound Schism, since they feature the sages more on the side than as the main act, but they're good adventures and help build the feeling of the Society looking everywhere for Jewels.

The absolute core would be:
Destiny of the Sands
The Beacon Below
Ancients' Anguish
Refugees of the Weary Sky
Unseen Inclusion
Salvation of the sages

Extra credit:
[...] of the Fiend + Heresy of Man III, as a lead-up to Refugees of the Weary Sky
Test of Tar Kuatha -> Ironbound Schism
Darkest Abduction

I would agree that Test and Ironbound are awesome, but that you do not need to be a Scarab Sage to run them. Still, this list gives me a good idea of which ones to feature most strongly in an upcoming Convention that I am planning.

I am glad that the announcement came when it did. We were just finalizing our list of scenarios, when this put a monkey wrench in our plans!

This one sets up the Salvation of the Sages adventure. Unseen is a 1-5 and Salvation is a 7-11.

Both are excellent adventures.

What I find surprising is how many of the Scarab Sage adventures are 7-11.

2-03, The Rebel's Ransom is another Osirian tomb crawl. It doesn't particularly involve the storyline of the Sages (nor any rebels or ransoms, as others have mentioned).

I figure I might as well jump in on this thread to ask: what should I fill the empty levels with?

I have a Scarab Sage who has finished level 1, and hasn't played any of the iconic adventures. Right now, an ideal path looks something like:

PFS #9-04: The Unseen Inclusion (Tier 1-5)
PFS #5-12: Destiny of the Sands, Part 1: A Bitter Bargain (Tier 1-5)
PFS #5-15: Destiny of the Sands, Part 2: Race to Seeker's Folly (Tier 1-5)

PFS #5-16: Destiny of the Sands, Part 3: Sanctum of the Sages (Tier 3-7)
PFS #6-19: Test of Tar Kuata (Tier 3-7)
- a random lvl 3 scenario

Levels 4, 5, and 6 are currently black holes, except for 2-03, The Rebel's Ransom while at level 5-6, though I suppose at lvl 6 I might be able to try and start 'playing up' into the lvl 7-11 scenarios.

So, I thought I'd ask some more experienced Sages if they had any recommendations for relevant (or, failing directly relevant, thematic) scenarios to fill the level 4-6 gap?

Scarab Sages 4/5

I would play Unseen Inclusion after the others. It’s a continuation of the story, and it makes much more sense in the order they were published. There may definitely be some spoilers.

4/5

Oh, bother. Thank you for the advice, I will recuse myself from the tpKon5 session. :(

(Hmm. In further analysis, it is less dire than I thought: looking at the tiers again, I suppose I'm really looking for suggestions for relevant or thematic scenarios in the level 2-6 range, since I could play Destiny and the Unseen Inclusion at lvl 5-6, then do Test of Tar Kuata at lvl 6... .)

Scarab Sages

I’m in the same situation, just finishing level 1 and haven’t played any of the scarab sage-featuring scenarios. I’d like to go through them, even if I don’t get to it before the faction is retired. Is it best in general to follow the release order (as much as possible for a single character)?

Scarab Sages 4/5

I mean, I don’t want to overstate it. Unseen Inclusion is a setup for Salvation of the Sages. If you are familiar with the story up to that point already, there’s no harm in playing it before the Destiny series. But if you’re wanting to experience the story from the beginning, Unseen Inclusion would be jumping to the end.

My plan is to go through Destiny of the Sands and then Unseen Inclusion before leaping into other scenarios.

I would recommend "From Under Ice", too. Some good stuff for Scarab Sage characters.
