Most Dragon like Kobold you can make?

Advice

I'm looking for permanent methods of making a Kobold as much of a dragon as possible.

The Half-Dragon template isn't really desirable, as I 1, plan to either play this character myself, or make it an npc if I ever GM a game with my group, and 2, I want a Kobold, not an actual dragon.

Also while things that cause him to straight up transform into a dragon are acceptable, since they typically won't be permanent until later on, and again, I don't want an actual dragon, but a Kobold who has become as much like a dragon as possible, these will also be less desirable.

I may or may not make it Gestalt, so options for gestalted and non-gestalted are acceptable. Also bonus points if you can somehow work in a Drake Companion, or a rules legal way for another type of "Dragon" Companion, such as a Dragonne Cohort with the Monstrous Cohort feats (or am I thinking of the wrong magical beast that is "descended" from dragons that can be made a mount?), but these take a backseat to the prime goal of making the Kobold as dragon like as possible.

So does anybody have any ideas they'd like to share?

Liberty's Edge

It might be cheating, but Synthesist Summoner as a quadruped will allow you to make your eidolon look like a dragon and you are your eidolon so its pretty much you being it.
Depending on how the GM sees it, you can say you have wings from the start that just do not work for flight to attacks until later. As you level up and gain evolution points grab most of the following.
Reach (Bite), Claws, Breath Weapon, Wings, Flight, Tail slap.

You are already a spell caster so you can do most of your own casting in place of the dragon sorcerer spell list. If gestalt, grab Fighter or Barbarian for actual combat skills and even better HP.

Otherwise, grab Oracle as your gestalt, I think there is a dragon Curse and mystery, one of them surely grants dragon-like benefits that can fit the Eidolons form. (Breath attacks, so on)
Its all Charisma based and the Eidolon takes care of STR and DEX so you really only need CHA, CON, and some WIS and INT for saves and Skills.

Obviously many people have mixed views of the Synthesis summoner, for good reason, but if you are Gestalt then balance is already getting thrown out for the most part.

Hopefully this helps.

Martial class ->Sorcerer lv1 ->Dragon Disciple
Leadership- dragonkin(bestiary 5)
Kobold Racial Traits- Tail terror, dragon aspect, dragonic breath, draconic glide, draconic paragon
Bloodline Familiar->Improved Familiar pick one(fairie dragon, tidepool drake, caligraphy wyrm, pseudodragon, pseudowyvern)

Shadow Lodge

Bloodline familiar will replace the dragon claws bloodline power - and therefore also the Dragon Bite power of the Dragon Disciple (since you only get the bite when your claws are out).

Kobold Dragon Oracle into Dragon Disciple with the Scaled Disciple Feat.

I agree that building towards Dragon Disciple (however you might get there) is the best option.

These are feats, not racial traits, from the Advanced Race Guide. You definitely want that book if you're trying to build the most dragonish kobold possible.

You can gain wings that allow gliding, but not true flight, with the Gliding Wings alternate racial trait (at 1st level) or Draconic Glide feat (at 3rd, since it has a prerequisite).

(In my current campaign, the dragon-ruled kobold kingdom has airships, so its army has whole units of elite shock troops with gliding wings, backstopped by sorcerers with feather fall.)

A flying Improved Familiar would make the draconic bloodline familiar ability moot, so I'd suggest taking a regular familiar (preferably reptilian) until you qualify for the feat. That way you won't give up any standard bloodline powers (as Weirdo pointed out).

Add shadow drake to Dastis's list of dragon-type Improved Familiars.

The Racial Feats are definitely your best bet.

kobold Bloodrager draconic bloodline.

rager

draconic

does grant temp wings that allow you to fly.
does grant draconic resistances
does grant claws and bonus damage later in levels/
does grant some spells but is not a full caster
does allow for a dragon shape
does grant dragon breath

Sovereign Court

Draconic druid. Gets you form of dragon wildshape later on, and a drake companion.

Cross-Blooded Sorcerer, Arcane(Familiar) and Draconic(Dragon Disciple).
The alternate/mutated fey line can get an animal companion, but nothing really dragon like, but with improved familiar feat, can get the Pseudo dragon from Arcane blood line.

Beastmorph alchemist. Take the flight and breath weapon bomb discoveries.

The tentacle discovery could be refluffed as your tail slap.

ummmm
dumb question.

which type of dragon kobold?
sorcerer or bard + dragon disciple?
alchemist
or bloodrage dragon?
caster, combat, or wannabe( aka the alchemist)

Well, I guess a red or white dragon.

If sorcerer + dragon disciple is the best way to go, but I'm really liking the scaled disciple feat + dragon mystery oracle + dragon disciple combination, as it vastly increases the amount of times certain abilities can be used.
Probably some mix of caster and combat, like how if you created a dragon bloodline sorcerer in just the right way, it could be a melee fighter later on with form of the dragon. Because it seems that in order to get the best options for making yourself dragonlike, you have to be some form of caster.

Also I just wanted to say thank you all for the suggestions. These have all been wonderful ideas.

Remember the shadow dragon aspect spell when you get 4th level spells if you go sorcerer.

Shadow Lodge

If you are willing to look into it, this is the best Draconic option.
