So I'm in the Carrion Crown Campaign and my group needs a proper healer, so I decided on a vitalist build. My only issue is that while I have found a guide, it lacks information on feats and equipment.
My in-combat tactic is to keep my Aggro members in the collective, force enemies into my collective and redirect their damage back to them. I've also got questions about how certain abilities work.
Firstly, my character. No name as of yet, but he's Elan. (Can't choose a race that would be considered inherently 'evil'. Drow, Duergar, etc...)
Vitalist 4 (Life Leech/Sadist)
Str 8 Int 12
Dex 14 Wis 18
Con 16 Cha 10
Feats
1- Psionic Talent, (unsure)
2- Unwilling Participant
3- (unsure)
I haven't yet looked through all the potential feats, but I'm curious if Improved Initiative is ideal, should I go with collective powers, or are there other feats that might further my being helpful?

Second the Expanded Knowledge. If you have party members that are Strength-based meleers, grabbing Expansion (that can be used on Collective Members via Medic Powers) would be great, also, as a 1/2 BAB class, your physical offense is severely limited, so getting some nukes will help with something to do when healing isn't needed.

So here's the conclusion I've come to. I need a bigger pool for my collective. My first feat will be Expanded Collective, which gives me two more to my pool. The second is Expanded Knowledge; Expansion.
The two archetypes combined will alter my powers known, replace my knacks (Does it replace my method knack, class knacks, or the knacks all-together?), Transfer Wounds, Health Sense, Steal Health, Request Aid, and my first bonus Expanded Knowledge. Are the benefits of these archetypes worth the abilities they replace?
Also, powers known. Because I'm losing my knacks, my limited selection of powers gets a lot tighter. Are there any key powers you guys can list that I should strive for with expanded knowledge?
On another note, someone please explain the network descriptor to me.

1 level in vitalist with hospitler paladin and eldritch heritage aberrant bloodline -> aberrant tumor makes for a potent healer 1st level feat fey foundling lay on hands self for 1d6+2 healing per 2 levels of paladin ability to channel heal all allies in 30 foot area and if some allies are full hp you can redirect the healing to an injured ally with in the collective example fighter is 100 hp down and you have yourself(full hp) and 2 allies(also full hp) and the fighter in the area you channel to heal and then the fighter gets healed for like 24d6+12 hp
edit: oops i forgot about vmc cavalier order of the star for +50% of levels to lay on hands and channeling power

Found this link; LINK
It explains the SP+V combo, and a few others. Gonna investigate further on these psicrystals.

I still have a few questions that need to be answered.
1- Are my knacks completely replaced? if not, which part is kept?
2- Should I attempt a Dromite version of this build for the alternate class bonus?
3- Is Unwilling Participant considered a mind-affecting ability?
4- When you say 'nuke' powers is there a list that I should choose from?

1: Are you asking about sadist? I think you lose all 3, but not sure.
2: Dromite doesn't really have the stats you want.
3: Don't know
4: For nukes generally the base psion and kineticist lists (The psychokinesis specialist psion, not the Occult Adventures class) have most of them. Energy Stun doesn't do much damage, but it has a nasty rider. Energy Current isn't much for instant damage, but the very high damage per PP is worth considering for a Soulthief (you didn't give your method, but it's the logical assumption for your archetypes) due to giving a massive amount of healing from Soulthief’s Expertise (You can also combo it with Energy Conversion once you're high enough level).

I was actually considering the Mender Method, should've said that earlier. As for my further feats, I'm looking at Expanded Knowledge (Astral Construct), followed by Psicrystal Affinity. I'll alternate between Expanded Knowledge and Improved Psicrystal from that point on.
I also found that RAW, Unwilling Participant and Collective only require a wisdom score, so anything with wisdom higher than 1 is considered a viable member, willing or otherwise.
Now for my final question; Can you harm undead with psionic healing if they're in your collective? Everything I've been finding says that psionic healing is untyped, and thus just heals. Though this would definitely determine which method I favor.

nope but you can heal friendly undead and maybe even constructs in your collective :)

"The type of healing (positive energy, negative energy, construct repair, etc.) is unchanged from the original source for determining who or what can be healed." If I'm reading this right; My ally can drink a cure mod and I can transfer that positive healing towards an undead in my collective to do harm instead, am I right?

nope, it needs to actually be able to heal the target for you to transfer the healing to a target so positive->positive, negative->negative and construct->construct if you all were to drink cure light wounds pots and try to redirect it to an undead it ceases to be healing anymore than stops working
