Densa's Shooting Star Build ideas

Advice

I want to make a build using Densa shooting Star, however I am not sure what class or classes would be best

I start at level 7 and must be human with 20 points to buy stats

I could also use feat advice

I want to be a party face who can defend himself if needed

I actually have a level 7 Warpriest using that style right now. Grab the three Startoss Style feats and it unlocks a world of hurt.

Scaled unchained monk 1/oath of vengeance paladin 4/sorcerer 1/dragon disciple 1

Cha to hit, Cha to AC, Cha to damage, Cha to heal, Cha to cast, and the ability to expend lay on hands for extra smite uses. Proceed through dragon disciple to get more levels of sorcerer spell casting, make sure to take prestigious spellcaster and favored presto eve class for maximum benefit of 10 levels in a prestige class. Get yourself some Bracers of Celestial Intervention and a few extra uses of lay on hands to convert and go to town.

That's two classes with lawful requirements. Most GMs are going to require being within one step of a deity's alignment to get worship benefits, and Desna is CG.

Bard, Oracle, or any of the other medium BAB progression caster classes are a nice choice for this. Since the feat makes you use your casting stat for melee and ranged combat, you're pretty free to take feats for fun things or casting-focused stuff, like Spell Focus.

Bard is a very good choice for that build. Take a one level dip into Lore Oracle and take Side-Step Secret to get your Charisma to AC and Reflex saves. Even crazier if you want to the the Noble Scion feat that grants you Cha to Initiative as well.

Oh o.o I hate to ask but could you show me a sample build?

Sure. I'll post a build tomorrow when I'm not half asleep!

(Avenger) Vigilante can pump the damage up pretty well and is suited as a face.

Eldritch Scion Magus is also cha dependent, I'd go with Arcane Bloodline and the Moonlight Stalker master feat chain or Destined Bloodline with Fate's Favored.

Anything that gives scaling damage dice like warpriest or someone with access to advanced weapon training (Focus Weapon) gets a lot out of starknives.

For human, I would suggest the following stats:

Str 10
Dex 14
Con 13+1 (4th level bonus)
Int 12
Wis 10
Cha 16+2 (Human stat bonus)

or

Str 10
Dex 10
Con 13+1
Int 12
Wis 14
Cha 16+2

You could even drop your Dex down if you plan on focusing most of your defense on Cha. In which case, I would suggest pushing your Wis up to 14 and drop Dex to 10, that way you can shore-up your Will saving throw.

The main issue is going to be getting proficiency in Starknife... which can be fixed by taking the Human Racial Trait Military Tradition or by taking Heirloom Weapon trait. I would suggest the Military Tradition because that will allow you to select another Martial or Exotic weapon. Granted, that takes away one of your starting feats, but... it's not a bad choice.

If you go that route, then one good possibility for a 1st level feat would be Noble Scion (then select of War) to get your Cha bonus to Initiative instead of Dex.

So, this way your feats would look like this...

1st - Noble Scion
3rd - Weapon Focus (Starknife)
5th - Point-Blank Shot (prerequisite for Startoss Style)
7th - Startoss Style
9th - Startoss Comet
11th - Startoss Shower

Now, take note that the later of these options are more geared towards ranged attacks, but ever Startoss feat you have nets you 2 damage for a total of +6 damage when attacking with that weapon.

For classes I would suggest Bard 6 (feel free to select any archetype that doesn't mess with Versatile Performance, because it's required for this build) and then a 1 level dip into Lore Oracle and select Sidestep Secret this will get your Cha to AC and Reflex instead of Dexterity.

So now you have your Cha bonus to Initiative, AC, Ref, Attack, and Damage when utilizing a Starknife. Now you're the party face that can really dish it out in combat.

If you want more damage, then Warpriest is the way to go as others have suggested.

How about the Dandy Ranger?
Charisma for spells and Combat Style Feats to skip pre-reqs?
And full BAB?
Might be fun.

You can even switch out Versatile Performance for Desna's Shooting Star as early as 2nd level. Then, you can do the same later to continue it. Very nice benefit for the Bard in Divine Anthology of the Player Companion line.

Grand Lodge

Gillmen Oceans Echo lunar oracle, noble scion (war) feat
Gillmen to qualify for oceans echo (need swim speed)
Cha bonus to AC, reflex saves, spell casting, initiativ, to hit & damage with starknives, bard song.
Takes some feats to come online.

Grand Lodge

Feats needed:
1 level: Nobel scion (war)
3 level: extra revelation (prophetic armor)
5 level: Divine fighting technique - Way of the shooting star

1 Oracle(Lore) sidestep secret (cha to AC + reflex save)
X Swashbuckler (possibly flying blade) (cha for panache)

feats have been pretty well covered.

Look at trait Irrepressable - Cha to saves vs charms/compulsions
