This is my 6th year going, and I still made a major mistake. I didn't even bother to look at how many tickets there were for each game. The 2 Starfinder games I tried to get into each had 24 tickets. That's not a lot of people.
Oh well, we bought some generic tickets. Maybe we can get into one of the games that way.

It could be wise to refresh those pages every once in a while. I'm sitting on an extra Thornwatch ticket hoping another Starfinder event opens up and I can drop one for what works best.

Is it worth going to gencon if the event you were going for in the first place sold out already? Cause I've already spent money for this trip, if I can't even get in... o God.
Don't have the post handy since I'm on my phone, but there should be quest packs and demos running as non-ticket events during the con.

I got into the first Qwests slot and a Commencement, and I was in the first 2500 or so to submit. My son and I did not understand why they did registration they way they did. Ranking your choices if you are still handling the submissions on a first come first serve basis doesn't make a lot of sense especially given how much they are saying enrollment has gotten the last few years. We also noticed that the submission software did not use a standardized time since the count down clocks on our 2 computers where almost 45 seconds apart (which meant about 4000 people).

Thank goodness. I hit submit as soon as the button was available and didn't get in.

I was surprised and disappointed that the Starfinder games sold out so quickly. But I have a solution: I am going to pick up my preordered book and about 6 hours later set up in open gaming to run the thing. I don't imagine I will have too much difficulty finding interested parties and we can learn the game together.

Did people get what they wanted? That filled up all right away. Hopefully more are added I got in the 00 for 8pm-1am. Even the 2am-7am slots filled up. Hype.
I hope more are added as well. I didn't get in any starfinder at all, and I was really looking forward to it. I guess i will lurk around and see if a seat or two opens up!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I'll be running demos adjacent to Paizo's booth in the exhibition hall all weekend from 10-6 (10-4 Sunday) and I think I'm one of 2 or 3 demo-ers. I don't have any further information yet, but I'll be there ready to help you get your game on!
EDIT:I expect I'll be pretty busy all weekend based on the quick sell-out.

It is a wonderful thing that it sold out so quickly. The excitement about this game keeps growing. Of course, I'm curious how people are going to have 1st level characters when the core rulebook is released during Gen Con.
If you think you missed your chance, by generics. In most games there are always one or two that don't show to the game.

Anything with the 00 should be pregen. Thursday was just the largest pool of 300 seats and then there was other 00 times with smaller ticket limits.
I'm going to try and grab the Free RPG day scenario and have that prepped to play at GenCon if I get some downtime.
I really wanted to try some society stuff but 00 pregens is fine by me :D

I watched the thursday night 4th level pre gen slot and say a few tickets open up yesterday then I grabbed them. More could open as people finalize schedules or move things around keep checking!
Also I did read a few places that Organized play leadership is evaluating how many spots there are, but they also said they can't commit to anything yet since they don't even have all of their GMs they need signed up, meaning they may have to cancel some PFS games before they even think about moving them to SFS.
Here is the thread. http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2udj5?GenCon-50-Event-Registration-Experience#2 5
Also did anyone hear if we can pick up preorder SF books at GC?

I believe that we are maxed out, so we can't add an event without removing an event. So we have to figure out which ones can safely be swapped.

One more person hoping you can open up more tables for starfinder here, it is the only game I was really looking forward to that I couldn't get in. Thanks!
