I wonder if it's possible to build an effective gunslinger-bard.
Juggler archetype can wield three pistols at once. Still debating whether it's more effective to go Mysterious Stranger or stay vanilla 'Slinger, but it really appeals to me. Gun twirling like Revolver Ocelot seems really cool to pull off.

You'd also want to take a level in a class that offers Quick Clear at level 1 if you go mysterious stranger. Losing your gun sucks.
There is a Pathfinder Community Desperado fan made class that tried to combine bard and gunslinger, but its honestly designed terribly. I've wanted to fix it for a while but I've never had the time or energy to sit down and make it better.

Of course, given your source material, this character would be required to split his Perform ranks between Perform (Sing) and Perform (String Instruments) since I do not recall ever seeing a singing cowboy without a guitar (outside of Blazing Saddles, that is).
Well, it's a sometime/sometimes not thing. Almost all singing cowboys played guitar at some point and were depicted doing so in some features, but not all the time. Gene Autry played guitar sometimes, but often did not (particularly when on horseback). Bards ain't exactly hurting for skill points, though, so it shouldn't be hard to level both (especially since they also cover bluff, diplomacy, and sense motive through versatile performance).

That's my plan! Without the gun twirling. Combat juggling should suffice. Not too worried about losing quick clear, backup coat pistols are not too expensive. Plus, between lucky and reliable weapon enchants and the "called" trait I hope to minimise the frequency and impact of misfires. Also, Jury Rig is a first level bard spell.

The responses to my post have proven two things:
1) I haven't seen enough westerns with singing cowboys, and
2) I don't have an adequate memory of the westerns that I have seen.
Go watch Rio Bravo. Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson battle it out for who's the most implausible cowboy to sidekick with the Duke. I love this movie, and only partly because of that.

I was thinking the exact same thing, the singing cowboy from the old Western movies.
That might be a bard I'd actually enjoy playing. I'd model him after Roy Rogers.
But, crap. Then I'd have to have an Animal Companion so I could have my trustee steed with me.
Ugh. Someone help me come up with a Roy Rogers clone for Pathfinder!!!
