Have character concept but not sure how to build character.

Got together with my group, and we made a fitting backstory for my new character, but im not sure how to build him.

the character is a "simple southern lawyer" halfling who was framed, found god in prison, became a cleric of the god of betrayal, and is going after the man who framed him.

I rolled in order for his stats, so they are, after racial adjustment;

str 14

dex 13

con 11

int 14

wis 17

cha 16

Im not sure how to build him, summoning focused? Blasting? 100 on the healing?

The party has an investigator skill monkey, an inquisitor tank, and a rogue melee dps type. No one is focused on ranged weapons. No one has any healing or buffing ability.

heres a basic sketch of what he looks like to http://imgur.com/a/tiVvz

oh also, in this campaign the god of betrayal is neutral, and im going to channel positive energy

Well, how would you feel about making his highest slot Charisma and making him an Oracle? Party Healer.

You could always make him an Alchemist and shoot exploding arrows. Alchemists get cure spells.

Investigators have access to Extracts, and Inquisitors have access to Cleric spells (unless they took archetypes to replace those, in which case they better be damn good).

As for how to build him, that's ultimately up to you. A lot of people will tell you that Blasting and Healing are a waste of time, with the exception of spells like Heal. Summoning is certainly worthwhile, but I'd really only do that if you had a 20 Wisdom and had other garbage stats, and they're not particularly effective early on. Also, if you're wanting revenge, I'd reckon calling others to get the job done for you doesn't particularly fit your M.O. of wanting vengeance carried out by your own hands.

Also, you're fairly well-rounded. Your strength and dexterity are acceptable, you actually have skill points, and your Charisma is useful enough for something other than Channel Energy.

I would suggest using a ranged weapon, but unless your deity's favored weapon is something like Erastil's (which is a Longbow), you're not doing yourself any favors. The best thing you can do is be an Evangelist Cleric with a Reach Weapon, aiding your party members from the backlines. You'll still get Channel Energy, but it is delayed and not as effective, but for how melee-oriented your party is, they would benefit greatly from Inspire Courage and the like.

You'd make a fine offensive caster or a buffing caster. It really comes down to what you want.

Note, evangelist cleric gets bardic performance using sermons. So you can be preaching to people on the battlefield, really nice for a support build.

If your GM allows it all, become a mob-boss.

Take the rich parents trait, take Black Powder Inquisition Domain, Buy a pistol, hire two thugs and focus your spells on buffing and healing them up, always take with a southern accent and generally be a businessman.

Maybe look something like this:

I have to agree, you're not a great "ranged weapons" specialist. (Dex of 13, donja know.) Is there any way to switch Cha and Dex?

Are you wedded to cleric now?

Being a cleric of vengance I would go blaster or bad touch build. With those stats I might even look at the Envoy of balance double channel build.

I don't know what kind of deity's favored weapon or Domains we're talking about here, but with high WIS and CHA, you could be pretty mean with Guided Hand and things that build on Channel Energy - and since you'd be WIS-based, you'd still cast spells just fine. I would imagine the favored weapon of the god of vengeance should prove... thematic.

Energy Channel lets you add a big bonus to damage rolls through channeling an element. Separatist would allow you to take an Element Domain regardless of deity. So you could add a big chunk of searing acid or vengeful flame or whatever else to weapon strikes if and when you choose to attack something.

If you're neutral, you could use Versatile Channeler to throw both positive and negative energy through Channel Smite, which is a nasty damage bonus as well. You could even set-up your Energy Channel on a round where you cast a spell, and then attack with both Energy Channel and Channel Smite... very wrathful, even if it's gonna burn through Channel uses/day.

A Cleric with naturally high CHA can go Flagbearer and Evangelist Cleric, and then use a Banner of the Ancient Kings. Huge buff to both party and self, and you can still wield your deity's favored weapon (if it's one-handed) alongside the banner and a light shield (though you probably want Quick Draw to make casting spells and drawing/sheathing your weapon easier).
