Recruitment Open for Hells Rebels - 2 Slots Available
Character Creation:
This is a table I took over from a GM that disappeared so I am just following the original creation guidelines.
1. No 3PP!
2. Point Build - 25 points
Races - All core plus Aasimar, Kitsune, Tengu and Tiefling. Alternate racial traits are fine, and the only major restrictions are as follow - Fey Thoughts is banned; Variant Aasimar/Tiefling abilities are barred, but Aasimar/Tiefling physical features are allowed and must be rolled (2 max); the Tiefling Qlippoth-Spawn are also banned for mostly aesthetic reasons.
3. Classes - All but Occult classes (I have no bearing on them).
4. Archetypes are fine.
Starting Wealth and HP - Starting wealth is max for class, as well as HP. Thereafter, HP is rolled.
5. Traits - Start with three, one being from the awesome and free Player's Guide, one from either the Combat, Faith, Magic or Social traits list (none of which may increase starting wealth), and one Racial Trait.
6. Alignments - No Evil.
7. Starting Level - 2nd level.
8. Lastly! - A simple 3 to 5 sentence background outlining your character and what they do in Kintargo.
The characters to be replaced are:
1. A Human Female Oracle (Seeker), and
2. A Half-Elf Paladin (Chosen One).
I will keep Recruitment open until Midnight EST February 14.

RECRUITMENT OPEN FOR DRAGONLANCE - LEGENDS OF THE THIRD DRAGON WAR
Pathfinder rules.
25 Point Buy.
Start at 1st Level.
Allowed Races: (Besides the usual suspects) Bakali, Minotaur (Dragonlance version), Half-Ogres. Draconians do not exist so they are not an option.
I am specifically looking for a TANK build.
Max HP 1st level. Roll or 1/2+1 thereafter.
Max starting gold per base class.
All 3PP material welcome.
Background Skills will be used.
Two Traits
I have not yet decided where to begin play.
Recruitment will be open until Midnight EST February 8th
I am looking for 1 player - This game is really just underway so you will be picking up essentially where everyone else has in the City of Tarsis.

Morvena Sarini |

Posting interest for the Hell's Rebels spots with this character as well as a friend's character, as a paired submission. The general gist is a young (former?) noblewoman and her bodyguard who each want to upset the apple cart in Kintargo for their own reasons.
Both characters will need to be adjusted slightly for the creation rules but the builds and such should largely stay the same. I'll leave my friend to post here when he gets the chance but Morvena is an Arcanist (Occultist) and Geoffrey is a Fighter (Tactician). I'm not sure if the group is specifically looking for a healer/divine replacement for the oracle but I hope you'll consider us just the same :)

Storyteller Shadow |

Would you be willing to consider a run of the free goblin modules (and maybe further)? Here's an example of one such attempt.
Just realized I never responded to this. Have not really given this type of adventure much thought. I currently run two evil campaigns so probably not till one of them ended.

Eric Swanson |

This is Eric Swanson who is playing Geoffrey Piersym, the other half of Morvena Sarini's paired submission. We are in several other games together and have both been dying to get into an HR AP. Like Morvena says I can easily update Geoffrey to meet the creation guidelines.
Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for considering us!

Absolutely go ahead and update to submission guidelines.

Hey there Shadow! I'm interested in playing a Warder from the Path of War for the Dragonlance Campaign. I'm considering playing an Ordained Defender but don't really know much of the religious figures in Dragonlance at all. What would you suggest for the campaign? I'm trying to get the flavor and fluff right for the campaign. I'm considering a dwarf as well.

Fey Thoughts, Fey Magic, and Low Light Vision: add class skill to Acrobatics and Escape Artist, may cast Stabilize, Spark, Virtue, and Faerie Fire once per day as a spell like ability (Cha based, DC 11-12) in Urban environs only, also gain Low light vision as a human.
Skill Ranks per Level: 6 + Int modifier plus 2 background. [15 pts. (1st:8/2nd:7) and 4 pts. (2/2)]
CLASS SKILLS: The vampire hunter’s class skills are Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), Knowledge (local) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Perception (Wis), Ride (Dex), Sense Motive (Wis), Spellcraft (Int), Stealth (Dex), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str). Acrobatics (Dex) and Escape Artist (Dex) are from Fey Thoughts and Autohypnosis (Wis) from trait at +1.
Class Skill Ranks: 1 Bluff=+5, 1 Climb=+6/+7, 1 Heal=+6, 1 K:Arc=+5, 1 K:Loc=+5, 1 K:Relig=+5, 1 Perc=+6, 1 S:Motiv=+6, 1 Spellcr=+5, 1 Stealth=+6, 1 Surv=+6/+7 tracking [+1 with Machete], 1 Swim=+6/+7, 1 Acro=+6, 1 EscArt=+6, 1 Autohypn=+7
Background Class Skills: Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Knowledge (geography)(Int), Profession (Wis)
Background Skill Ranks: 1 K:Geog=+5, 1 H:Anml=+5, 1 Prof (Herbalist)=+6, 1 Prof (Soldier)=+6
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A vampire hunter is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, as well as light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
1st: Detect Undead (Sp): At will, a vampire hunter can use detect undead, as the spell. A vampire hunter can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is undead, learning the strength of its aura as if he had studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the vampire hunter does not detect undead in any other object or individual within
range.
1st: Technique Feat: Due to the inherent deadliness of hunting vampires, the methods and traditions of vampire hunters are rare and little understood. This often makes vampire hunters just as feared as the undead they hunt. As vampire hunters study and train, they develop their skills, mastering ancient fighting techniques and drawing upon mystical arts feared by both the living and the dead. At 1st level, a vampire hunter gains a bonus feat. This new feat can be selected from either
those listed as combat feats or as vampire hunting technique feats. A vampire hunter must meet the prerequisites for these feats to select them. The vampire hunter gains an additional bonus feat at 3rd level and every three levels thereafter. Upon reaching 6th level, and every six levels thereafter (12th and 18th), a vampire hunter can choose to learn a new combat or technique feat in place of a combat or technique feat he has already learned. In effect, the vampire hunter loses the old feat in exchange for the new one. The old feat cannot be one that was used as a prerequisite for another feat, prestige class, or another ability the vampire hunter knows. A vampire hunter can exchange only one feat at any given level and must choose whether or not to swap the feat at the time he gains a new bonus feat for the level.
EXTENDED VAMPIRIC FOCUS (TECHNIQUE): You can employ vampiric prowess for a longer period.
Prerequisite: Vampiric focus class feature.
Benefit: Add your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) to the number of minutes per day that you can use your vampiric focus ability.
1st: Track (Ex): A vampire hunter adds half his level to Survival skill checks to follow tracks.
1st: Vampiric Focus (Su): A vampire hunter knows the sinister power of the undead. Through discipline and precision, he can temporarily turn the unholy powers of the undead against them. At 1st level, the vampire hunter must select one common vampiric power to mimic from the vampiric foci listed below. Each vampiric focus grants the vampire hunter a bonus or special ability. Once this decision is made, the vampire hunter cannot change which vampiric focus he knows. At 8th and 16th level, the vampire hunter learns an additional vampiric focus. As a swift action, the vampire hunter can activate his vampiric focus. Ending the vampiric focus is a free action. He can use each vampiric focus for a number of minutes per day equal to his level (4 min.). This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. Once the vampire hunter ends a focus, it cannot be reactivated for 1 minute. The vampire hunter can have only one vampiric focus active at a time. Benefits from different vampiric foci do not stack with one another, including temporary hit points from multiple foci.
Vampiric Might: The vampire hunter gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength and his weapons are always treated as magical for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. This bonus increases to +4 at 8th level and +6 at 16th level.
2nd: Relentless (Ex): At 2nd level, a vampire hunter can travel for an extended period of time without rest. The vampire hunter (and his mount, if he has one) can walk 16 hours in a day of travel without it being considered a forced march (see page 171 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook), but at the end of that day, he must attempt a DC 15 Fortitude saving throw. If he fails, he can travel for 8 hours the following day, and he (as well as his mount, if he has one) is fatigued for the following 24 hours. If he succeeds at the saving throw, he can use this ability again the following day. The DC of the Fortitude saving throw increases by 2 for every additional day the vampire hunter has been traveling for more than 8 hours. The vampire hunter does not need to attempt a separate saving throw for his mount. After the vampire hunter rests for 24 hours, the saving throw DC resets to 15.

Her left hand may or may not be holding a Couatl's Spirit. In terms of her physical appearance, her resemblance to High School DxD's Xenovia Quarta is somewhat close (but a bit more sensibly dressed though). The Preceding Link may or may not be considered SFW as a fair warning.

Oi Shadow, interested in Dragonlance but couple questions.
Care to give a link to your prefered Krynn Minotaur conversaion? The moment you said TANK the hulking horned guys came to my mind.
Also to be on the same page, you said All 3PP welcome. Any particular bias towards Path of War stuff? Both their classes and the initiator archetypes for base classes.

Storyteller Shadow |

Shadow,
Are you looking for replacements who are similar to those above PCs? Or would you be open to PCs who do not fit the same theme/role?
Also, what's the current party makeup?
And, how far along in the AP are you?
The PCs have explored the Silver Ravens old hideout and claimed the Wasp Nest as a hideout. Currently they are starting to build assistance with the resistance so they are quite early on in the first book.
I am open to any new PCs.
Current Group:
Half Elf Bard (Dawmflower Dervish),
Half Orc Alchemist
Half Elf Witch (Cartomancer)
I uh forgot to mention this in Recruitment but all PCs MUST be female this is after all a Fox Force Five Hells Rebels campaign...
Any Male submission can just be converted to Female no worries.

Storyteller Shadow |

Shadow... For the Hell's Rebels game, would a Nagaji be okay? I know it's not on the races list, so I apologize for asking - but since you assumed the game from a different GM, I thought about double checking.
Normally I would say yes but this campaign is all about not bringing attention to yourself until you absolutely have to. As a Nagaji you would be easily identifiable if spotted by the Thrune's forces. Certainly a case could be made so what but the PCs so far are reluctant heroes and would likely be unwilling to allow an inner circle member to be someone that could potentially blow their cover.
You can submit that race for any future campaigns I run though!

Kiri Jolith would be the appropriate Good God in Dragonlance for a Martial character to worship. Dwarves often worship the neutral God Reorx. Either would be fine.

Dragonlance Conversion to Pathfinder
Yes Path of War is just fine. In fact I encourage it, makes me feel like I bought the book for a good reason!

Storyteller Shadow |

Okay, I think that Geoffrey's player would prefer to keep him as a him so we'll gracefully bow out of the running for the Hell's Rebels spots. Thank you for the consideration just the same and good luck to the remaining applicants :)
Sorry about that should have made it clear from the beginning just slipped my mind as I've had a lot on my mind lately.
A second slot MAY open up in Dragonlance this weekend so if you are interested in pairing up for that Campaign let me know.

Monkeygod |

Shadow, unsure if I'll pick a non standard race or not, but for those who are considering it, what should they do if there's no(or hardly any) racial traits? I'm unsure, for example, if Kitsune and Tengu have traits.
Edit: Unchained classes allowed? I am possibly thinking rogue. Would skill unlocks be available?

Okey. Being a longtime fan of Dragonlance (read the trilogy and a couple of the prequels repeated times since I was 10) and a true knight at heart, I will only say: EST SOLARUS OTH MITHAS.
And that's why I'd need to talk with you about the Solamnic Knights. Which options would be feasible for a wannabe Knight? I guess some sort of ancestry would be needed, not necessarily banned like Sturm.
Perhaps a distant brand of a Solamnic family, with the character trying to get his own share of good and epic deeds so he can later request his acceptance as a true Solamnic Knight.
That's it, if a lowly Order of the Crown Errant Knight or Squire isn't on the table.
I'd aim towards a human warder either rocking bastard sword and heavy shield or two handing bastard sword with the Zweihander Sentinel archetype, but in any case I'll wait for Shadow's input so I can put together an honorable and humble background.

Choose Traits that seem appropriate and run em by me.
Yep Unchained classes are allowed.
I never thought about Skill Unlocks but I suppose why not, pretty good benefits for a Feat. I like the flavor of it.

Yes ancestry is needed even this early on in the Knighthood.
You can pick any family you like (I am sure there is a list of family names somewhere on the net) or you can create your own line.
From that suggested class would you then attempt to take the Solamnic Knight Prestige class? Though reviewing it, it needs a bit of tweaking to move from Order to Order.
I have reasons to place you in Tarsis where we are starting out so anywhere you want to place your background is fine. Remember, the game takes place in the past currently, Huma is a young Knight and the war is nowhere near its end. IN fact, it is just beginning...

I have decided to take 3 instead of 2 submissions.
It's always difficult to NOT take someone so apologies to those not selected. Note that I have Recruitment up for two other games currently so you can submit something there if you wish, even tweaking these same submissions would be acceptable for Hell's Rebels. Dragonlance is a bit more particular due to how unique the world is. If you wish to resubmit for another opening with the same character go ahead and post that intention.
Moreover, with the number of games I run there is almost always some sort of opening due to RL issues for players in PbP.
That being said, the following characters should report to the following OOC thread: Eberron Discussion Thread Note that I run both tables from the same thread so you be posting OOC in that games Recruitment Thread now and moving forward.
Xetovia Phlogiston Here4daFreeSwag - Human Vampire Hunter.
Toolbox Helikon - Warforged Artificer.

I am looking for 1 player - This game is really just underway so you will be picking up essentially where everyone else has in the City of Tarsis.
There are now 2 slots open in the Dragonlance campaign. The second slot can be anything but I will give preference to at least one spot for a Martial/Tank character.
