A cat familiar who delivers touch spells for a 3rd level caster at the end of the dungeon might be kind of scary and could potentially have enough hit points to get away and come back later to apply another spell (preferably while the PCs sleep or in the middle of some other combat)

Alternately the familiar could be of the Figment archetype so that no matter how many times the PCs kill it the darned thing just comes back again the next day.

Give them clown masks.

is this what you seek?

If it's a witch's familiar, it's stated that witch familiars cannot use the Figment archetype.

Grand Lodge

Swarm Monger Druid from Blood of the Beasts can have a cat swarm at level 1. Which I guess could be a Figment as well.

As written, there' no range on Fecund Familiar, so you could have a druid up to a mile away whose cat just turns into a swarm when threatened.

Not being able to use Figments for Witches is a shame. I guess Paizo didn't want folks mitigating the risk of losing their spellbook though.
